With multi-book deals with the highly esteemed publishers of Harlequin's Kimani Press (New Spirit imprint), Moody Publishing (Lift Every Voice imprint) and Urban Books (Urban Christian imprint), Kendra has risen to become one of the most acclaimed voices in Christian fiction.
Among other honors, Kendra has been named a bestselling author on the Black Expressions Bestsellers List, the Walmart Bestsellers List and the Essence Bestsellers List, where her novel, "Crossing Jhordan's River" peaked at #1 for paperback fiction. Most recently, Kendra was presented (by the African American Literary Awards Show) with the 2008 awards for Best Christian Fiction of the Year (for "Battle of Jericho") and Best Anthology of the year (for "This Far By Faith").
Norman-Bellamy has written a Christian Fiction romance novel that can be enjoyed by someone as young as a teenager and as seasoned as a senior citizen. The storyline is one of love, laughter, tears and romance but void of profanity and obscene sexual scenes. The male characters are presented in a positive light and they exhibit the behavior and characteristics that any woman would want in a relationship. But the characters which really captured my attention and added life to the story were the parents of Greg and Grace-Ms. Lena and Ms. Mattie. These two characters were colorful, humorous and cantankerous and made for many laugh out loud moments.
For Love and Grace by Kendra Norman-Bellamy is an uplifting and motivating novel that touches on true love, true friendship, true faith and true happiness. It is a pleasurable and easy read that can be read in one sitting. Fans of Christian Fiction and Romance/Love stories will especially enjoy this well-written book from new-comer Norman-Bellamy.
Wow, this book was amazing! I am a Vanessa Davis Griggs, Christian author fan! Now I will add Kendra Norman-Bellamy!
What a love story from a major accident that killed the woman her surgeon, Dr. Greg Dixon, who he loved as his own mother--Julia Madison. His long time friend, Derrick Madison, of twenty-six years was out on a rampage to get the woman, he thought, was responsible for his mother's death. Beautifully written of a sense of romance, love, and forgiveness that is beyond measure...where Dr. Greg Dixon meets the love of his life, at the hospital, the woman he treated after the severe car accident.
We fell in love with the main characters of Kendra Norman-Bellamy's For Love and Grace. It was refreshing to find such professional, upstanding, strong Black men. Their story of friendship was just as integral to the plot as the primary romance. Lovely story from beginning to end.
I must say this book was not what I thought it would be. I actually liked it! I usually do not go for romantic books but for some reason this one caught my eye. I needed something easy and quick to read before starting another long book and this did the trick. What I liked mostly about the book was that it immediately drew you in . I didn’t have to read three or four chapters to get a feel for this book. (I hate that) However after a few chapters I did feel like this could be a lifetime or hallmark movie. All in all it was a pretty good easy read. I will read the second part to this book .
Great read! A book of faith, family love and forgiveness. The mother's Mattie and Lena are hilarious. The focus on faith and forgiveness resonated throughout the book.
A great story of forgiveness and why God extends his grace to us even though we don't deserve it. Also why we need to extend grace to others. A great story that made me laugh through out each chapter.
For Love and Grace was a nice read, much laughter, much hurt and a lot of love. Greg & Jessica 2 people finding love but they had to struggle through some lost to get to true happiness.
