Shell Teri isn't just an author; she's someone who cares deeply about helping people grow and become stronger from the inside out. With a background in psychology, she's spent years studying the mind and emotions. Her focus is on giving everyone, no matter where they come from, the tools to improve their mental and emotional well-being.
She deals with issues like personality disorders, emotional intelligence, narcissism, addiction, and codependency. She's been through the emotional wringer in a dysfunctional relationship. This firsthand experience gives her a unique understanding of what people face daily when stuck in the trap of codependency.
As the author of over a dozen books in English, Spanish, and Italian, Shell's goal is to inspire and empower. Her writings cover everything from guides on self-help to journals focused on gratitude and self-love. Drawing from her own life, Shell wants to equip her readers with the tools and advice they need to conquer emotional challenges, comprehend behavioral disorders, and break free from abusive cycles.
Reading this book will help you understand what codependency is and how to be free of it, but you will also learn what you need to do to heal yourself and get on the path of self-realization, joy, and happiness.
I actually did enjoy this book which is why I’m upset that I have to rate it 3 stars. I do agree as I’ve said before that a book from the authors perspective is good and I agree with it. However, this book felt like it was geared towards woman and woman only, as if men aren’t allowed to feel the same way which is a shame because a lot was relatable to me personally. It made me feel as if one or a few bad experiences with men kind of categorized them all in one way for the author. I could be completely wrong, but this is how i felt and how i seen it. I believe self book/growth books should be geared toward everyone, men & woman alike, or whatever it is you identify as you should feel welcome and open to the experience and knowledge as well. I felt more like an outsider trying to fit in and be seen as if “hey guys i’ve experienced this too” rather than welcomed for whatever past issues i may have had that i needed help with, help that was sought out for in reading this book.
