The Big Book of Reiki Symbols

Rate this book
The traditional symbols of the Usui System of Reiki take a key position in this unique tradition. Without them and their mantra's, Reiki is not possible. The dedication rituals necessary for the practice of Reiki as well as the complex healings can only be accomplished on the foundation of Usui symbols with the certainty and effectiveness one expects from Reiki. Written in a remarkably precise and lucid style by two foremost authors on Reiki, this compendium reveals indispensable information of tremendous spiritual value.

In an effort to deepen my knowledge and understanding of Reiki, I have studied a number of different variations. It has been a very interesting undertaking and I have enjoyed my studies thoroughly. Nonetheless, I have often noticed and wondered about slight differences in the way certain traditional symbols are written, differential translations of those symbols, or slight variations in the instructions for Reiki practice. Do these slight modifications matter? Does Reiki work by intention alone? What did Master Usui actually teach? Is the Reiki energy that I make use of the same as the original?

The Big Book of Reiki Symbols is an amazing reference for any Reiki practitioner that wants to delve deeper into the meaning of Reiki. At 671 pages, this book is quite a commitment, one well worth the effort I might add. As I found myself entranced in the pages, I gained an extraordinary sense of respect, insight, and understanding about what we do as practitioners. I've noticed that now I take more care and really appreciate the gift when I work.

I highly suggest taking lots of notes and having a good supply of post-it-notes to bookmark pages that you want to study in more detail. Believe me, there will be plenty. My copy looks like a bit like a porcupine.

Maybe Too Advanced for Me Right Now

Very informative, but maybe I’m not ready for this book yet...I also assumed I ‘twas filled with symbols... what I did understand was good to learn... the mantras... never knew what that was... you must read to find out... so I will go back to other books for now than return to this... it is a must... vgb 😊

This is a well researched book about Reiki symbols, that is a "must have" in your Reiki library, especially if you're interested in the history and traditional elements of the Reiki practice.

For those who are interested in learning more buddhist and taoist context regarding Reiki practice, it's a mandatory reading. For everyone else, it's an interesting book that might expand your knowledge. A lot of information about Buddhism, tradition, symbols, a lot of illustrations and a lot of spiritual knowledge - this is what you can find in this work. Yet I have to admit, that it isn't easy to read, but the overall effect is worth the money and time.

This is more of a reference book for me than a read. A lot of books on Reiki symbolism capitalize on the allure of "quick" answers. Reiki practitioners that I know bristle when sacred symbols are revealed in a salacious way. That's not true of this book. This book provides explanations of traditional Reiki symbols, spiritual traditions, the history.

An. Interesting read, some of it well-researched but some of it writing about the spiritual realms like we can definitely know it, in detail. That's not my experience.

It is chock-full of typographical and editorial errors. I don't know how it made it to print with so many errors.

That said, I would still recommend this book to deepen your knowledge of Reiki and New Age spirituality.
