Good story
Previously published as the nameless dwarf the complete chronicles. This is actually part 3 of the Legends of the Nameless Dwarf. Audible still has it as Nameless Dwarf The Complete Chronicles, but they link together just fine.
I enjoyed it. Nameless is a dwarf that did a deed so evil they took his name away and kicked him out. The story is action heavy but if you are looking for something like that it's enjoyable. The complete series is more interesting to me. This is very readable as a stand alone book.

The Nameless Dwarf (The Complete Chronicles); Nameless Dwarf series books 1-5.
I chose the highest rating for The Nameless Dwarf series because they were extremely well written, and I liked the way it was always action and suspense all the time. I would also recommend this book to anyone who likes science fiction fantasy, D P Prior in my opinion is on the way up, and, will soon be on the same level of excellence as David Gemmell, Raymond E Feist and Terry Brooks.

Very impressive
Prior (get it? lol) to snagging the complete chronicles on sale one day I had never heard of D.P. Prior, but after reading through these books I will definitely be going back to read the Shader series as well as eagerly awaiting the next release of the Nameless Dwarf's story. Well done!

I love dwarves. Gimli, Flint Fireforge, Hendel and others. So I was excited about a world that would feature this under-utilized epic fantasy race. Alas, I was disappointed by this story. Everything is only two inches deep. The character development, the world building and the overall plot. All of it lacks depth. The absence of these critical elements resulted in me not caring about the characters, the city the lived in and their plight. In fact, as I sit here and write this review, I'm not exactly sure what the plot of the book was. As a result, I'm putting off listening to the rest of the books. I might revisit them at a later time.
I will say this about the book. I liked the writing style and prose and the narrator was solid. He did the Scottish accent quite well.

This wasn’t the story for me!
This book/series was very different and difficult for me to enjoy. The narration was absolutely fantastic and his accents were wonderful that’s one reason I was able to push through. I’m not saying this series was written bad, I just couldn’t get into it.

The dwarves have gone!

When they are accosted by one of their own with a demonic axe found on the brink of the Abyss, drastic measures are needed. The link between axe and wielder is broken by a helm of scarolite, and the lawbreaker is held in stasis in the bowels of the Ravine City, Arx Gravis. To complete his shame, his name is taken from him, permanently removed from history.
When this Nameless Dwarf is awakened by the voice of the knight, Deacon Shader, he becomes embroiled in the battles against the unweaving of all creation by the technocrat, Sektis Gandaw. He later partakes in a quest to find three artifacts with which to shatter the lingering power of the black axe and free himself from the scarolite helm. Too late, it is revealed as a trap laid by the Demiurgos and his spawn, the homunculi, and the Nameless Dwarf returns to Arx Gravis as a brutal dictator, slaughtering his kin by the thousands.

Bravo! A good fast read! now i am hooked. This was such a great, easy and creative book. i was hooked after the first page.
The characters were easy to fall in love with and follow, along with the story. the author made the mental visions so easy and vivid of the surroundings and the characters actions felt so real.
i would highly recommend this author and this book.

Interesting but not engrossing
There were times I wasn't sure I was going to finish this book, but I plodded on. I found Mr. Prior's writing style colorful ("a gut full of eels") and descriptive, and while mildly entertaining, I thought it fell short of that spark that pulls one into the story. For heroes, they did a lot of puking and "shite"ing and pants pissing. Even the suspenseful parts that could have kept you riveted and turning pages, just seemed to flatline.
The randomness with which some events happened...where did Silas come from and why did he just tag along with this group? And Ilesa..why did she hang around, and I say that loosely, because she was missing for a good part of the story.
The sun's and moons were talked about often, as well as the cynocephalus, but I didn't really see their importance in the story.

Great read and I will be reading more by this author. Just enough off the standard plot line to keep the interest there to see what happens next.

I have so many other books I am looking forward to reading, stopped this one a third or so in. This book is a deus-ex-machina extravaganza. The author doesn't need to plan anything because some magic will happen and tidy everything up every single time in every single tight situation.
I was embarrassed for the author.
BUT if this was meant to be a kids book then I take it all back. I can see me as a youngster devouring this book and screaming for more.
