They come from two different worlds, but when the heart is involved nothing else matters. Entrepreneur Noah Chambers, aka Mr. Black Atlanta, always gets what he wants. So when he falls in love with Genesis Savell and asks her to marry him, he’s certain she’ll say yes. She doesn’t. Instead, she insists they take a break from each other. That’s when Noah knows there’s something else going on, and he has every intention of finding out what. Dating Noah, the owner of the company she works at, wasn’t one of her best decisions. But falling in love with him is even worse. Genesis is in the midst of planning his company’s annual Juneteenth Gala and Silent Auction charity event, but her past comes back to haunt her. Instead of focusing on the gala, her attention is hopelessly divided between two men. One who she loves more than life. The other—the man who saved her life years ago. Yet, when her world spins out of control, there’s no question who she’ll call for help—Mr. One and Only—Noah. But is it too late?

Noah, Mr. Black Atlanta and Genesis were a cute couple. She was wrong for not telling him the truth about her past. Ronnie got what he deserved, an a$$ whooping and jail. Great peeping my fav Atlanta’s Finest, Ashton and Laz. Great job Sharon.
This was a really good book, I loved the chemistry between the two of them and it was very obvious that Noah and Genesis loved each other. I absolutely loved Noah but honestly Genesis irked me throughout most of the story. I understand that she was a little afraid to to tell Noah about her past, however when Ronnie continued to be a nuisance to her and then threatened her she should've been honest with Noah. I can't wait to read the rest of the books in this series!!!
Welcome to Atlanta, Georgia where author Sharon C. Cooper resides, and where this story takes place. Our Mr. Black Atlanta is Noah Chambers, entrepreneur and owner of G-Spark Engineering. Noah, in his role as Mr. Black, is responsible for planning the Juneteenth event for the city. He needs help in planning the annual Juneteenth Gala and Silent Auction charity event. So, he enlists the help of Genesis Savell, an executive assistant at his firm, and the woman he is currently dating. Genesis is slightly uncomfortable with their relationship because one, Noah is her boss. Two, he is nine years older than Genesis. So, we have the older man-younger woman scenario. And three, Genesis has a self-esteem issue that stems from her past. More about that later. I like this couple, because they love each other in spite of Genesis’ misgivings. However, the love, respect, attention and mutual feelings they share is not enough for Genesis to say, “Yes” when Noah pops the question. There is something that Genesis needs to resolve for herself, but she is blocked from doing that because of the man who has come back into her life, unwanted, and causing her a lot of stress and unease. Genesis was brought up in the foster care system, along with her bestie, Samantha Lewis, and her nemesis, Ronnie Peterson. Ronnie is holding something over Genesis’ head that happened when they were younger.. No spoilers. You will have to read the story to discover what is going on there. However, the intense scene in the parking garage when Noah confronts Ronnie will let you know that Noah does not play, and he is a protector of those he loves. Speaking of protectors, this story has an extra treat for the readers who follow Ms Cooper. If you know like I know, Atlanta is the city where Supreme Security is located that employs Atlanta’s Finest. That includes Noah’s brother, Ashton Chambers (TEMPTED) and the one and only Lazarus “Laz” Dimas (INDEBTED & COMMITTED). The HEA for our couple is perfect! I enjoyed reading MR. ONE AND ONLY, and I’m sure you will also. I recommend it for your reading pleasure. It’s another great addition to the Baes of Juneteenth series.
If Noah Chambers needed me to help build his Ark, I was his woman. Now, do not let Genesis Savell know about my plans. Readers, you already know that this author tells an incredibly suspenseful story. I check that box for you. Also, in this story, there were cameo visits from the men from Atlanta's Finest. Each story had a Juneteenth episode to tie in with the collection of stories.
Genesis is in love with a wonderful man. Noah is ecstatic to have her in his life However Genesis has a past that risen its ugly head. Violence occurs, secrets must be revealed . Will their relationship survive? Well you have to read this great book from a fabulous author. .
Noah was in his final year as Mr Black Atl and was gearing up for his final Juneteenth celebration in this role. He owned his own engineering firm. Genesis was an employee of his company but they didn’t work together or near each other. She was coordinating the Juneteenth celebration. They began dating despite his status and her being younger than him. She grew up in foster care and had a rough childhood. She persevered and made a comfortable life for herself. She had some past issues as a teenager thanks to her foster brother who went to jail for a crime that he committed. He was recently released and connected with her. She didn’t tell Noah about the incident when she was a teenager and of Ronnie because she felt he would leave her and was too good for her. Her fear, half truths and secrets gets her in a dangerous situation and puts their relationship in jeopardy anyway. Noah is a good man and person who loves her and wants to marry her. He is her protector. This was a good story with Juneteenth in the background. It was mentioned what his plans would be as part of the celebration during the gala and mentioned a trivia booth to educate people about Juneteenth that the attendees responded positively to. I was hoping for more community participation like in some of the other series books that I read but the romance with Noah and Genesis was good. Good read.
Book Review: Mr. One and Only by Sharon C. Cooper ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️/5
Hey, hey, my favorites 😁💚. #annieethebookiee is back with another book review!
Let’s talk about Noah Chambers—Mr. Black Atlanta himself! In Mr. One and Only, Sharon C. Cooper gives us a swoony, grown-folks romance with a twist of emotional depth and second chances.
Noah is confident, charming, and deeply in love. Genesis? She’s smart, determined, and caught between a painful past and a future she’s not sure she deserves. When she turns down Noah’s proposal, it sets off a chain of events that had me flipping pages like crazy!
The chemistry? 🔥 The drama? Whew. The tension between love and loyalty? So good. Genesis’s personal struggle added layers to her character, and I appreciated how Noah never gave up—he really was her Mr. One and Only.
This book had heart, heat, and a sprinkle of real-life messiness. Perfect for readers who love complicated love stories that still give a satisfying ending. Definitely one of my faves in the Baes of Juneteenth series!
Now excuse me while I go see what the rest of the baes are up to… 👀💋
I really enjoyed this book. Noah Chambers, Mr. Black Atlanta, and Genesis Sevall had a wonderful chemistry, and you could feel their love throughout the story. While I loved the Noah, Genesis annoyed me after a while. From the start you knew Noah loved her enough to understand her past and to move forward with their future. It should not have taken Ronnie viciously beating her for her to confide in Noah. Even when she told him about her past, she did not tell him everything. She should have listened to Samantha and told Nosh all, especially when Ronnie made it clear he was going to be a problem.
It was great seeing two of my favorites from the Atlanta Finest series in the book as well. Ashton Chambers is Noah's brother and my hero Lazarus Dimas Ashton's former partner from Atlanta PD appear in this book.
I am thoroughly enjoying the Baes of Juneteenth series.
Noah and Genesis met each other while planning a Juneteenth event for his company the previous year. She was hesitant to start dating him at first because he's her boss but she couldn't resist him. In the midst of planning this year's Juneteenth celebration, Noah and Genesis' relationship is going along well until Genesis' foster brother re-enters her life. At this point, secrets, drama and suspense enters the story. I loved the chemistry between Noah and Genesis and also the love that they shared. Noah showed that his love for Genesis was unconditional when he never gave up on making her his despite the way she handled her foster brother. The addition of some of the Atlanta’s Finest into the story was a treat. Another great book by Ms. Cooper!!!
Wow!!!!! Your secret past will always follow you unless you run far far away!
Genesis grew up in Foster Care, where survival of the fittest is the norm. True love, affection, and trust is in short supply. You are expected to do whatever is necessary to make it until you age out.
Currently Genesis has a successful career and is in a great relationship with Noah, the wealthy owner of the company where she works. And then Ronnie, her "foster care brother", turns up after 16 years in jail, threatening and demanding payment for all of the "favors" he did for her. And he doesn't stop there.
How on earth, will Noah react, when Genesis" secret past is revealed?
A marriage proposal gone bad really fast!! That was Genesis and Noah at the beginning! From there, untold truths had to become unraveled and it was a journey getting there!
We can say that through it all, love persevered, a new marriage proposal was given, and it all worked out in the end!! This is another excellent contribution to this awesome series!! I have one left! If you haven’t already jumped onboard, what are you waiting for!! Excellent reading!! I thoroughly enjoyed this story, along with the entire series, and I highly recommend it!! Kudos, Sharon! 💜💜
I love that the series celebrates Juneteenth. I enjoyed this read, the first one I've read from this series. I thought I'd start with an author that was new to me. I loved that the main characters were successful professionals who dedicated time to helping the people of their community. The relationship between Genesis and Noah were goals, but Genesis was keeping secrets that prevented her from accepting Noah's marriage proposal. I felt the secret wasn't as devastating as implied and should have been revealed to Noah much earlier in the relationship. Despite this, it was a good story and i look forward to reading more of this series.
Now why did Sharon C. Cooper have me stressed out behind a man named Noah?! 😩
Mr. One and Only had me in a CHOKEHOLD from page one. Noah said, “Marry me,” and Genesis said, “Let’s take a break.” EXCUSE ME??? Baby, I would’ve risked it all!
whew life was lifing for Genesis, and I get it. Juggling trauma, two men (one from her past that won’t leave) and planning a whole Juneteenth gala?! Sis was fighting battles on all fronts. And Noah? That man was determined, protective, and the definition of “I said what I said.” This book gave heart, heat, and healing. The perfect romance where love really had to prove it was enough.
This story was “off the charts “. Noah and Genesis were so in love with each other. If only she had come clean about her past. She could have accepted Noah’s marriage proposal the first time he asked, if she had! I’m just glad that Ronnie got what he deserved! I loved that Ashton and Laz made appearances from Supreme Security, better known as “Atlantas Finest!” I also loved the Juneteenth masquerade ball. Thank you Sharon C. Cooper, for this amazingly awesome contribution to The Baes of Juneteenth!! ❤️🔥
I couldn't put this book down. I was so good and drew me into the story. I didn't understand how Genesis could give up a great man, and be blind that punk Ronnie's true character. Even after Samantha and her conscience warned her, she continued to protect Ronnie. Genesis actually refused to report Ronnie or press charges, even after being threatened and physically hurt by him. Also, her reasons for keeping secrets, were irrational and caused more damage, in the long run.
This was in my TBR pile. I am happy that I finally got to it. Noah and Genesis had a great love story of the past coming back to haunt you. Genesis knew she needed to tell Noah about her past, but she was always going to. Unfortunately, Ronnie, from her past, came back to cause issues. Too bad no one told him about the "rich boy" Genesis was involved with. The story had romance, suspense and some of Atlanta's Finest for a return visit. Great story, Ms. Cooper. Looking forward to more visits from Atlanta's Finest.
This was a love story about Genesis Development and Noah Chambers. She wad an employee working for his company when they met. She'd grown up in the foster care system but had graduated from college and made an honorable life for herself and began dating Noah. Her former past came back to bother het but because Noah loved Jer so much they eventually found their happily ever after.
I was enjoying the storyline buildup and was on the edge of my seat waiting for the big reveal. When it came, however, I was a bit deflated. As much as it was a big secret, I would have thought it would have been more spicy to the point where it's like, "Ooh, I'd be scared to tell the truth myself." Besides that and the very, very quick climax and resolution, I liked it.
Noah....Ashton"s brother fell in love quick with someone he didn't know a lot about but Genesis had a pass that she didn't want anyone to know about, she loved Noah but not enough to marry him cause she didn't want to hurt him or his family..... So here comes Ronnie a person who wants to hurt her by telling her past if she don't agree to give him some money. Not only he don't get any money but he gets arrested too
Noah and Genesis were such a cute couple who loved one another, but had to navigate through trust issues and things that happened in the past coming back to cause problems years later. They figured out a way to support and love each other no matter what. Throw in the suspension and Atlanta's Hot security team and you got yourself a great book. Kudos the Sharon C. Cooper on another amazing story.
This had me locked in, with the suspense of everything. I was so glad when Noah followed his gut and had things checked out for himself... Genesis and the whole secretive thing was a tad irksome. Even after what happened in the parking lot, she was still holding back. And it's wild that I was actually kinda rooting for Ronnie at first but whew, I was certainly wrong on that one.
Genesis and Noah make a very happy couple. The secrets that you keep can also be the end to something wonderful. Ronnie thought he was still dealing with a young and immature young girl and thought he could intimidate Genesis. Now that Genesis and Noah have their happy ending and Ronnie got what was coming to him. I am learning a lot more about Juneteenth.
This was a cute novella and I really enjoyed it. I loved how Noah showed unconditional love towards Genesis and stuck by her side even when she revealed the secrets of her past that weren’t very pretty. I also loved the facts about the Juneteenth holiday being sprinkled throughout.
This story was amazing! I didn’t want to put it down, had to sneak read while I was at work after reading during my lunch break! Sharon Cooper definitely has a way with words to draw you in! Now I can’t wait to read Atlanta’s finest! Already ordered the series!
Excellent read, I enjoyed the characters and storyline. Noah and Genesis are good together. Unfortunately, secrets fro Genesis’s past could derail their relationship. This is their journey to lasting love. Also, great mentions of characters Ashton and Laz from Supreme security.
A very nice story of redemption, love and the importance of speaking the truth with the one you love and hope to marry. Trusting in the strength of true love bodes well for unexpected hiccups of life. Leave no stones unturned when your past is filled with secrets
Sharon C. Cooper, has done it again! This is a great short story of unconditional love. I’m glad Genesis, although she was forced by circumstances, finally revealed the secrets she was keeping from Noah. I recommend this love story for sure!
There aren't to many authors that can write books that have intrigue and sex so hot it will make you feel like you're a voyuer, but Sharon C. Cooper can. If you are a fan you will love this book and if you have never read her books before you'll become a fan.
One of my favorite author does it again Mrs. Cooper does a fantastic job. I look forward to reading what she does in the future read every one if her books. Thank you Super big fan
Mr. Black of Atlanta Noah, is on top of his Juneteenth celebration with the help of the love of his life Genesis. The secrets from her pass could destroy the celebration and their happiness.
