Finding Home #2

I Love You, So What?

Rate this book
Lexy:
I don’t date—never have, never will. People who fall in love always end up losing themselves, and I’m not going anywhere. When I kissed Troy Bolton, it wasn’t supposed to turn into anything. It was a fun way to kick off the new year—nothing more.

But this guy can’t seem to take a hint, and for whatever reason, I can’t get him out of my head.

Troy:
Lexy Vale has me rethinking casual hookups. That’s all I’ve wanted since I moved to LA, but after she kissed me on New Year’s Eve, I knew casual wasn’t enough. She only wants sex, but I’m determined to prove we could be something more.

Our similar pasts may be what build walls around our hearts, but our mutual understanding of each other might be what crumbles them. I know she can see we’d be great together, but is that enough for her to give us a chance?

I Love You, So What? Is the second book in the Finding Home series.

Two words: Character Development!! Holy moly!! This one had me so enthralled with the story line that all those spicy scenes were an added bonus!

Just like Tisa’s debut novel “And Then There’s You”, I always wondered how it was all going to play out because that’s how she writes. Tisa leaves you wanting more and somehow wraps it up with the perfect red ribbon 😉.

The sex, flirtation, banter and wit (to name a few) between all the characters is a chef’s kiss. I laughed, cried, yelled at and am completely overjoyed with “I love you, so what?” and this whole series so far ❤️

Readers should note that book three has flash backs to before the time frame of this book.

Lexy reminds me of Brooke Davis from One Tree Hill; for each, it is easier to be physically vulnerable than emotionally vulnerable. To take off their clothes, but not let anyone really know them. Even when the right person comes into their life, they cannot admit this to themselves much less the other person. Another similarity, although not exclusive to the two, is the young age at which everyone finds there place and their person.

I want to point out that starting a new job and almost immediately requesting 10 days off is not realistic.

'I Love You, so What?' is an easier read than 'And Then There's you' but I appreciated the unknowns of the latter. Both are what everyone wants, whether they admit to it or not. Both recommended.

*This is an interconnected series and I highly recommend reading “And Then There’s You” first to get the most out of your reading experience. Onto the review!*

You know when you finish a novel and you just sigh because of the journey you went on and how good the book was? I call this “blissed out reading” and this book delivered exactly that!

I thoroughly enjoyed Matthews second novel. These characters were fun and flirty and had the kind of banter I live for! Lexy was sassy and super relatable and Troy is one of the hottest book boyfriends I’ve ever “met”. I just love the way this story unfolded and that there wasn’t any unnecessary conflict or misunderstandings that made me want to throw my book across the room.

Matthews can write some seriously STEAMY scenes and I am here for it! She truly has a way with words and paints a picture to make these scenes memorable. THE MIRROR SCENE IS MY FAV 😘 just you wait! 😍

The pacing for this book was exactly what was needed and kept me engaged the whole time. There wasn’t any unnecessary filler that you see with some books and I was excited to turn each page to see what happened next.

Troy and Lexy just fit each other so perfectly. I love their chemistry and their dynamic. They bring out the best in each other. They have their own unique personalities separate from the characters in “And Then There’s You” and I loved getting to know them.

Also! The epilogue is EVERYTHING! The perfect conclusion to this crazy love story. Don’t ruin it for yourself and make sure you read both books fully, it’s worth it I promise!

The writing is just so damn good! Some of these lines are 🔥🔥🔥. The kind of lines that can make you gasp and take your breath away they’re so good. I was highlighting up a storm on my Kindle.

I can’t wait to see what Matthews writes next. Definitely one of my favorite authors! ♥️

This book was amazing and had me hooked into it the entire time!! I think it’s a perfect book 2 in this series! Tisa wrote this book in dual point of view which I really liked and enhanced my reading experience! The spice 🌶️ was definitely leveled up in this book and I absolutely loved it and am here for it! You really fall in love with these characters and their story! ❤️

I loved that at the end Tisa gave us answers to the questions we had at the end of book 1, “And Then There’s You”, and I think she did a perfect job of wrapping book 1 up. I think everyone will be happy with how she did it! I know I am and it wasn’t exactly what I was rooting for but that being said she won me over with who Maci chose and it completely makes sense!

This book is a must read once you get done reading book 1, “And Then There’s You”. I cannot wait to ready book 3 in this series when it comes out and continue to support this amazing, self published author!! 😁

I was so excited to dive into Lexy and Troy’s story, and to get some more *info* on the first book in the series!

It certainly didn’t disappoint! The chemistry between Lexy and Troy was undeniable, and the sex scenes ❤️‍🔥🔥

You can absolutely see how they complemented one another and brought out the best each other. I also LOVED that they were so open about communicating, and understanding each others history and boundaries.

The characters grew together and from their experiences with one another throughout the book, and I adore who they became throughout the story. Although, I do feel like I got to know them more as a couple and less as separate characters. Readers could have benefitted from more inner dialogue from the main characters, especially as their personal beliefs about love and relationships changed.

Overall, I did LOVE the story, and I do highly recommend reading this book!! I devoured it in a single day! Cannot wait to see what the author has in story for book 3. 🥰

I read A LOT of books and your these two are by far some of my absolute favorites! I am extremely proud of this young new author! The character development was phenomenal to the point where I felt personally connected to each one of them! I am an empath so I tend to absorb feelings of the people I am around in real life, it isn’t very often that books bring that out in me but this one did! I cried so many happy tears and then sad ones and then so many more happy ones! I laughed out loud so many times! I absofuckinglutely LOVED that I didn’t guess the ending before I got to it!!! Bc I hate it when that happens! The storyline kept me on my toes the entire book it was just sooooo good! I highly recommend this book and its preceding one, especially to the readers that love companion series’! I just couldn’t put it down!

I don’t know what to say besides this is SO SO good and a MUST read!!!!!! Especially if you read Matthews debut novel And Then There’s You. With these being her first 2 novels, I cannot wait to see her grow and how much further this path will take her because it was THAT good. It made me forget about anything from the outside world, and I could barely put it down. I kept thinking to myself - let me get to the next part that isn’t too spicy so I can make dinner, but with every turn of the page that seemed impossible - I had to know what was going to happen and before I knew it, I was done reading it and so sad it ended. Troy & Lexy are both super fun characters and I love the image she’s created for them through her writing. SO SO GOOD !!!!

Another book from Tisa Matthews that I could not put down!! I finished this in 2 days and just like when I read the first book in this series (And Then There’s You), I was completely captivated by the story. AND the epilogue for ATTY is everything we have been waiting for!
You don’t have to read the first book in the series to read this one BUT you will love it that much more if you do.
If you want a book, or series that’s perfect for a vacation or for a summer read, these are it! Story is easy to follow, there’s the perfect amount of spice, and you’ll feel like the characters are your friends. And of course there’s that hint of nostalgia for your early 20s, when you feel like every decision in life is a big one!

I freaking loved this book. I’ve read it twice and both times the ending made me cry - it was THAT good. (Even when I knew what was going to happen the second time 😅). If you haven’t read Tisa’s first book, And Then There’s You, do it before you read this one - it makes it so much better. Not to mention a little spoiler at the end if you haven’t read book #1 yet. Troy and Lexy are so flirty and sexy you won’t want to put their story down.

It’s funny how every love story is so different but feels so relatable. I felt sucked into their story but had suspense to the cliff hanger from Book 1. I couldn’t wait to get the answer! Then you get it! I can’t wait to see what else Tisa has in store for these characters continuing the series.

The second book in the finding home series and it was wonderful! You don’t need to read the first one, And Then There’s You, but I highly recommend that you do. It will make everything come alive even more! I never wanted to put the book down, and I was very happy with the ending and how everything turned out! Definitely a must read series and I can’t wait for book #3!

I loved it. Matthews has such a style of writing, it’s very easy to get lost in reading her books. I loved Lexy’s growth, and just love Troy in general lol.

I was thoroughly happy with how ILYSW ended - and was very pleased with how things tied up in the epilogue(s) 🙌

Per usual, I am (im)patiently awaiting for the next book… 😉📖

IDK what kind of crack Tisa puts in this series but my god. Call me an addict. I adored Lexy the second I met her in book 1 and this story takes place along the same time line. I such a sucker for the girl who doesn't date, to then find the perfect man for her... and Troy was *PERFECT*.

You also meet Troy in book 1 and well - he was a bone head who wasn't over his ex (but has a motorcycle so we can sort of look past his imperfections). He never gave up on Lexy and as soon as he realized she was what he wanted, he instantly dropped his FWB situation with a friend. TROY WAS ALL IN.

Tisa is becoming one of my favorite authors and is definitely on my must buy/must read list. I hesitate to read the next two books because I know I'll have to finish this series and I'll be all caught up. 😭 I will forever envy anyone who gets to read these 2 books for the first time.

📚BOOK REVIEW 📚

⚠️Trigger Warnings ⚠️
-substance abuse mentioning, sexual activities, and child neglect memories, harassment experience

📝My Review📝

Have you read “And Then There Was You”? If you haven’t read with caution as this may elude to some possible spoilers.

In Matthews newest edition to the Finding Home Series, she tells a story that follows parallel to the “And Then There Was You” you timeline. While Maci is out discovering herself overseas, her friends are left back in the states continuing with their lives and waiting for her to come home. Throughout this book, you will continue to live through many of the same characters but mainly view this story through Lexy and Troy’s POV.

Matthews brings to life a spunky, spicy, and sensitive Lexy who is on a journey of working through past trauma while trying to move forward in life. The trauma experienced has made her uncertain of relationships and love. Lexy believes she has moved on from this trauma but after running into Troy (A short lived love interest of Maci’s) she finds herself questioning what she believes is true. Troy on the other hand has been choosing to be involved in non commitment relationships to satisfy his physical needs. However, his run in to Lexy has him desiring more, specifically with her, even as she tries to push him away.

As a reader, I loved the parallel timeline and seeing the characters in different POVs. My love for Lexy has only amplified through this book and I have developed a “mild” crush with Troy…. Okay… actually maybe a Large crush. My heart continued to ache for Mack and at times Dean as they wait for Maci to make her decision. While Maci is not my favorite in this series, my favorite character, Marcus, makes some appearances which only makes my heart hope for his own story in the future!

Matthews continues to pull heart stings and create some gut punching moments for her readers. The writing is relatable and understandable which makes it a fun and easy read. She continues to implement spicy scenes within the chapters. Let’s just say motorcycles may have a new purpose for me…To say I’m invested in this story may be an understatement of the year. I highly recommend this book and the series if you are a lover of young adult, coming of age stories with a sprinkle of spice and love.

Lexy doesn’t date and she definitely does not do love either, especially after seeing her deadbeat mother abandon her time and time again, to chase after it.

When Lexy bumps into Troy on New Year’s Eve, they to flirt with each other, it’s fun and harmless but then they kiss. Suddenly, Lexy finds herself thinking about Troy more than she would like.

Troy has been all about the casual lifestyle since his heart was broken, he has an arrangement with a friend but they’ve both agreed that whenever they think they found someone that they’re interested in, they can tap out, which is exactly what Troy does as he can’t seem to do causal with Lexi and he doesn’t want to. He’s ready for a real relationship, but is Lexi?

I loved this story. Lexy and Troy are truly perfect for each other and it was clear the moment they kissed on New Years Eve, a causal relationship something they are both used to, would never be enough for them. Troy really is trying to show Lexy just how much he wants her and how good they can be together, but he can tell her past is holding her back and even though he wants her to give in to him, to them he knows he can’t push Lexy. It’s obvious that a Lexy has feelings for Troy and her hesitancy to fall for Troy because of what she has seen in the past, does not go unnoticed by Troy. In fact he seems to be able to read her better than anyone and is unable to resist the pull that Troy seems to have on her. Lexy is scared to let him in because everyone around her leaves her at some point or another. However, day by day the two of them work together to battle their insecurities and anxieties and give each other what they need.

Yeah, so I might be getting hooked on this genre. Okay, not really, but I was graced with an advanced reader copy and paused my Stephen King book to read it. If that isn't a testimony, I don't know what is.

Matthews' second novel, "I Love You, So What," takes you on another journey. Not so much to interesting locales but into the minds of two characters looking for something but wary of their own thoughts and feelings. Both characters have pasts they need to overcome, and it was a pleasure getting into their heads and learning about their wishes and desires.

I will go on record to say that this should NOT be read as a standalone novel. Read "And Then There Was You" to understand why these two characters need each other.

As a reader, I also loved the pace. This was a quick and easy read. One pitfall many authors can fall into is repeating the same style repeatedly with their books. Matthews dodges this perfectly by giving us a completely different style of book. This is refreshing and makes me very interested in the installment of the Finding Home series.

Also, once again, an author must stick the landing to get a 5-star review for me. Not only did this book end perfectly, but it also wrapped up lingering questions from the first book, which is an added bonus.

Two books in, the bar is set high for Matthews. I do not doubt she can keep this momentum, and I'm ready for the rest of the ride.

Tisa has done it again. What a book! This was so so good. Totally different to the first in the series ‘And Then There’s You’ but yet still felt so connected to it. You MUST read these two books in order.

I just fell in love with Troy and Lexy. Their connection is palpable, it comes off the page and hits you right in the feels. Lexy stole the show for me in this book though. The character development for her was so good, you could feel and understand her struggle and reluctance to commit. It really felt like if it was anyone other than Troy that it wouldn’t have worked. He was made for her. He knew when to push, he knew when to step back, and he knew what she needed, even if it wasn’t what he wanted.

The chemistry between these two is so good too. It felt stronger than the first book, but I think that makes sense given the basis of each story.

And the bonus chapters at the end which goes back to the first book!! Oooofff!! I felt so conflicted with this. I can’t deny it was a pretty perfect ending and I feel like l understand exactly why it all played out the way it did, but I still felt sad. But then maybe I would have felt that regardless because I was so completely invested in both of Maci’s relationships.

Either way, another amazing book. I can’t recommend these enough. Now, excuse me whilst I go sit and wait (not so) patiently for the third one to come out. I can’t wait for some Cooper time 😍

Thanks for the opportunity to read this as an ARC for an honest review!

This story about Lexy and Troy was an entertaining & easy read and may be relatable to anyone that has worked in hospitality as they are both bartenders and it focuses on that background quite a bit.

Unfortunately, I just didn’t really love either character and I felt like they didn’t have as much chemistry as they kept saying they had. I just didn’t FEEL it. I loved the part when they played 20 questions or any time they actually had a genuine conversation. But I felt like too much of the detail was focused on their workplace and their looks/sex life. Yes, he is sexy and she is hot… but what else? I wanted more from their dating life.. besides just hanging out at each other’s bar. There were parts that I enjoyed but that felt rushed… like when did Lexy decide she fell in love with Troy? When did he decide he was ready to date again and why? I think for me I would’ve liked to be in their heads a little more and for there to have been more detail in their conversion from hesitancy to date to being in a relationship to falling in love.

Randomly…
I loved Mack. Even though this wasn’t his story (though parts were mentioned) he was a great character for me and had lots of great best friend characteristics. #TeamMack

Such a beautiful love story

I didn't really know how I felt about this book in the beginning honestly, but as the story edged forward, I was sucked in. I became absorbed with what would come next between Lexy and Troy and it felt familiar. I've been in a head space just like Lexy before with not being comfortable in love. Getting to be a part of all of their traumas and mutual worries unfolding and meshing into a blossoming romance was nothing shy of perfection.

As for the epilogue to the first book in this series: "And Then There's You", I am OBSESSED! Though I was conflicted, things ended up exactly as my heart desired. (Don't worry, no spoilers here!) I honestly think that this would have been better suited at the end of book 3: "Can We Just Be Happy Now?", which comes out this Wednesday, February 14th, 2024, but I love it nonetheless and giving I read this book last, it worked out.❤️ I feel like I got the perfect ending for the perfect series. I have fallen in love with the stories this author tells.

When I say I NEEDED the next book after reading And Then There's You, I'm not exaggerating. This sequel couldn't come soon enough, and it did not disappoint!

Lexy was a fun and spunky FMC, and Troy is an absolute dreamboat in just about every way imaginable.

I loved this book so much. It was a quick, easy read for me, and as someone who easily gets bored with books, I say that with the highest of praise!

Tisa Matthew's writing flows effortlessly, and her characters have a little of all of us in them. They're fun, and relatable, and I cannot get enough.

Keeping my eye out for book 3!

This book was so cute! I was so excited to be an ARC for this book! I decided to quickly read the first one before starting this one. I know this book can be read by itself, I’m glad that I started with the first one!
I loved this book though! I loved the chemistry, and Lexy was my favorite! I also loved Troy! I found myself smiling a lot while reading it! Would definitely be one that I could read again!
I was also really happy that at the end it had an epilogue for the first book! I needed that! ☺️
I would definitely recommend this book! It’s an easy read and great story line! I stayed interested the whole time!

I love you, SO WHAT?

Let me start by saying this is the SPICIEST book I’ve ever read and I absolutely loved it!

This book is the second in its series by Tisa Matthews; however, it can be read as a standalone.

Lexy has trust issues, steaming from pretty shitty parents. Troy recently got out of a bad relationship. The last thing either of them thought they’d find is each other.

This book details the true struggles of a relationship: the past, the hurt, the loss of trust. It touches on what a lot of us have experienced. But, it also shines the light on what an amazing relationship is like when you find your person.

This book will have you ALL in your feelings!!

In "I Love You, So What?", the Tisa Matthews serves up a sizzling five-star dish of romance with a dual point of view that adds a spicy twist. Lexy's aversion to love clashes brilliantly with Troy's determination to prove otherwise, creating a captivating back-and-forth dance. The writing is so well-crafted that readers will find themselves irresistibly drawn into the intricate web of emotions. This second book in the Finding Home series is a literary feast, leaving you hungry for more of Lexy and Troy's enthralling journey.
