This is a fictional story about an 18-year-old girl's adventures traveling with the men who built the transcontinental railroad and the prostitutes who came along with them. Later in the story, she meets a surveyor for the railroad who offers her a different life. Will she be able to leave behind what she has seen and experienced in the Hell on Wheels camps?
Please This is a PG-rated version of Hell on A Sexy Western which is sexually explicit and meant for adults only. The author wanted to reach a wider audience made up of those people who like American history and want to read a fictional account of the people who lived in the Hell on Wheels camps during the building of the transcontinental railroad from its beginnings in Omaha all the through to California.
This was a really well done historical novel, it had that western element that I was hoping for. I was engaged with the characters and how they worked in this story. Louise Hathaway has a great writing style and left me wanting to read more from the author.
