Ok, so my brain has started to not love this series or where it's going. The storyline is simple but the big bad is so comically evil that he kinda sorta comes off as funny to me. Also, all the talk of

I've gotten to the point where I no longer care about any of the characters which is unfortunate because I really loved the first book in this series. It's extra annoying that I waited until everything was out in audio only to dislike the series before finishing it. I love being a mood reader .... :/

3.5 a bit long and gets going again at the end

This one took me a bit longer to get through. Naturally at the end it gets going but ends on a big ole cliffhanger. I think I’m going to break here however before coming back to the series. I enjoy Effie and her mates though. I love how they all dote on her. I am suspicious about Mona, idk if she’s her mom. I don’t get Hastain’s endgame and what he did to Effie is weird af imo. The waffling and playing house while on the run but waiting for Ruby was a bit….much. You just knew something was going to happen. I did like the blindside but it wasn’t really a blindside. I will come back to the series though.

Oh! M. Sinclair is freaking EVIL!!

Forewarning: this ends on a major cliffhanger. I am absolutely going nuts being left to hang like this. Evil, evil author 😭

Aside from that, this book was awesome. Effie got considerable more time spent getting to know each of her FANTASTIC mates. I seriously adore these guys. (Dakota, Tore, Julian, Caedmon and Ryder) So individual and diverse but at their core possessive and protective; even at times, and in small doses, toward each other. I loved it.

There were more answers to Effie’s past, powers and parentage. She’s growing more and more into her own. And the best part, we also get more information and understanding for each of Effie’s mates. I won’t lie, getting small hints of the guys pasts but no full explanation about things that formed them has been getting to me, so I am one happy lady to be able to get a better sense on why these guys have each turned out the way they have.

Now I’ll admit, too… there are certain characters that deserve(d) faaaar worse than what they got, or have so far gotten. I am very much the “eye-for-an-eye” type: and while I’m taking that eye, I’m also breaking bones and flaying skin. I am not a very forgiving person; especially when it comes to those I care for and love 🤷‍♀️😂

So, to finish up: this book is awesome on details and information, though the ending was stone-cold viscous from a great one-click author (for me) but at times evil (as the ending attests), but I’m definitely eagerly waiting for the next book.

Book 4 picks up right where the last book left, after an intriguing prologue. We get all kinds of new information about Effie, about Hastain’s plans, about the gate to the divine realm, right off the bat. Effie and her mates are told just enough to get their interest, but not so much that the reader gets overwhelmed. There are new players, as well as characters that have been talked about but haven’t made appearances in the books until now.

Effie has a lot of emotional growth and a boost in her self-worth. She does a lot of introspection as well as communicating with the guys and trusting their instincts as well as her own.

The spice level goes up! It’s wonderful to see Effie open up and connect with her mates. She’s not shy about showing them that she wants them, and she’s has fewer doubts about where she fits in their worlds. I loved seeing Effie come into her own, and the way her guys each support her and love her unconditionally is fantastic. I’m very excited to see where the last book takes us!

Overall the series was a decent shift RH romance
No MM
Fated mates
gods/goddesses
Touch her and die alphas
Emotionally damaged men.
Personally I felt this could have been a much shorter series.
It’s a VERY slow burn. Like it took to book 5 for her to finally bond with personally I think one of the better of her mates.
The FMC is from an abused household. While it does have darker topics, they aren’t gone into detail and it’s more alluded than anything.
It’s also not very spicy and no group scenes. Basically had one short spice scene for each of the 6 mates out of the entire 5 books.

After a shocking visit from a goddess, Effie and her mates learn that their mate bonds are in danger as well as many other women like Effie. The only way to help is to unlock her true powers. As Effie and her mates travel to the source of this puzzle, they are constantly looking over their shoulder for the next conflict. I loved that Effie is finally starting to come into her own in this book, and in turn also becoming closer to her mates. I love seeing the love and trust that they all share. The book ended on a cliffhanger so I’m anxious to see what happens next!

oooooooooooooooooooooooo!!!!! That ending!

And Ruby, there must be a story about her. I mean come on!
Kofin, what...how...who!

Effie!!! I am both jealous (her mates, their love, their smexy times) and horrified (her trauma and life)!

Need last book now, goodbye world. I'm about to not sleep for more than 2 hours again as I binge this series!

While I’m enjoying this series, I’m also frustrated about how slow-burn/low steam it is. This series is the least spicy addition from M Sinclair I’ve ever read. FMC has only bonded with Tore, Ryder, and Dakota (three bondings = three steamy scenes). That’s also the extent of the sexual experience Effie has gotten during four full-length novels.

Each book only spans about 3-5 days. It’s a strange recipe that each book only covers a short amount of time. I guess it makes sense why the plot moves so slowly, and the plot really moves at glacial speed. There is only so much that can happen in a week.

Im gonna say something unpopular, but im really starting to hate how M.Sinclair keeps writing these great first books, like the first and second in series, and then suddenly shifts the whole plot and all everyone does is just chase some previously unheard of enemy in distant lands/different realms. All the sweet, character and relathionshipbuilding from the earlier books is just forgotten about for this «epic quest». This followed that pattern, just like Maya’s story and the godess-series of hers. I just really miss the feeling of the first-second book…..

And honestly, there was so much happening so fast, random quests they had to do but that resolved itself so easily, before yet another dramatic cliffhanger, that I really stuggled to follow what was happening. And i love Effie, so saying this book wasnt great …hurts.

This book goes deeper into Effie’s forgotten past and the plot definitely picks up. Even though there is more plot development, we also get the relationships between Effie and her guys growing. This book made my love for Caedmon grow even more (though the others guys are still amazing too).

I’ll always say that M. Sinclair is the master of writing men that are absolutely obsessed with their girl and that continues throughout this series.

Such an exciting series. This series continually gets better. Effie really grows as a person on the epic road trip they take to release her magic. Th relationships, both individually and collectively, develop. We learn more of their pasts and how they affect the present. The final chapter and the cliffhanger make me anxious to see what happens next. I am fully invested in the outcome of this series.

**Review shared for series**

I was so excited that this series was finally completed. M. Sinclair is one of my top favorite authors. Her reverse harems always feel so well-rounded and complete. I was not disappointed. I think the biggest thing I enjoy about Sinclair's writing is that the females aren't completely badass "I can do everything on my own" and full of attitude. It's a nice change. I like that the men actually have the chance to protect their mate. The female in this is pretty naïve so if that's not your jam this isn't for you. One thing with this series that surprised me was I felt like I had no idea where it was going. At times it was a little confusing, but I appreciated the fact that it wasn't super predictable.

Effie is a bitten wolf that showed up on her adopted parents doorstep with no memory 5 years ago. The entire time she has been there she has dealt with abuse from the pack, and her "parents." So when she gets an acceptance letter to a prestigious wolf university she is nervous but thankful for the opportunity to have more of a future than she ever thought possible. With only a duffle, no funds, and not even a proper jacket she is on her way to the unknown. Luckily for her she meets Julian, a bitten wolf with a similar background to Effie, on the train to university, and despite not knowing him, she knows she is comfortable and can trust him. Julian isn't the only wolf she meets and feels comfortable with. Caedmon, a lycan that needs to show how much Effie means to him by buying her everything she needs and could possibly want, and feels like that is all he can offer her. Ryder, a kitsune that is determined to find out more about his mate and protect her from everything, especially his own family. Dakota, a totemic wolf that has a mental connection with Effie that helps her adapt to the new world she has become a part of. Tore a fenrir wolf, although he may not actually shift into a wolf, Effie tends to bring out a very primal part of him that is determined to keep her safe at all costs. In a world that Effie doesn't understand, it is lucky that she has these men in her corner to protect her and teach her everything she needs to know. Like the connection she has with them, the difference between the types of wolves, and eventually who she really is. But it's not easy when she was brought to the college by someone with bad intentions, other wolves wanting her as their own, and even the guys own families posing a threat to them.

In this book, Mona reveals that she is Effie's mother and she is goddess.A darkness is spreading in the shifter community where hastien is trafficking the bitten female wolves, attacking the humans. The only person who can stop this is Effie. She can stop this when she opens the gate for divine realm which is closed off, she can open the gate when she awakens all her powers and to do that ,she needs to get Homura and fengari stones.
To get Homura stone, they all decide to visit ryder's home where the stone is located. They meet Ryder's parents who shows them the homura stone, when Effie touches the touches the stone, she is shown the history of both lykos and kitsunes, the battles, the death and everythig that has happened. This revealation makes Effie more determined to unlock her powers and open the gate.
Caedamon father say that he has the location of fengari stone which is on the estate, and unreluctantly all of them plan to visit the the caedamon family state. There they meet with the person who has tortured, harassed caedamon, and after an altercation,Dakota kills her.
When Effie touches the stone , it unlocks her powers and shows her the future , the darkness that will spread if Hastien isn't stopped.
After the revelation, they try and relax for sometime but are made to flee by caedamon's father to university.in her dreams,Mona tells effie the key to open the gate lies with the dark god in the shadow realms.later, they contact ruby who is connected to reaper, dark god's son , to know the truth about the key.when it is confirmed that dark god may have the key, they all including ruby's mates , decide to visit shadowlands and talk to the dark god.
But before they start the journey, hastien kidnaps them and locks them with 3-4 shifted lycans, and in the middle of battle with the lycans, Effie is pushed off the cliff and falls into the lake. She might literally fallin to her icy grave.

That. Ending.

So I know, I know that Sinclair has a way with pulling you so into her books that you have no idea when the ending is coming. I mean honestly, I usually try to keep track of how much of the book is left, but I always fail to look at while I’m reading her books because I’m deep into the story. I did not see the ending and oh the way it ended….I gotta know what happens!!! So Pursued….I love that Effie is finally starting to find herself. She was so naive, so so naive, and just let everyone railroad her basically but she’s really finding her backbone and I love it. Caedmon is probably my favorite out of the guys and his growth has been just as huge. He’s come such a long way from the first book when it comes to letting Effie in emotionally and I’m excited to see where that takes him. He still has demons to work through, but Effie is definitely making a difference with him.
I had a hard time with Dakota in this book. I love the possessive alpha males and how far they’re willing to go for their women, but the way he was with Effie in this book just bothered me a little bit. Maybe it’s because of what had just happened, but I didn’t like the force he seemed to have when talking to her. Just in that one instance though.
I love where the story is going with Effie’s past and her abilities, and I’m so excited for more. Can’t wait for the next book!!!!

Meh

Not going to lie. I love the plot, but I don't like Effie. She is a just so weak. In the last book she did nothing but eat, sleep, and pass out. In this book I thought she would start coming out of that phase. But no! There is no character growth for Effie. For some reason the author decided that Effie would stay a sleepy, weepy, ignorant, and weak character through 4 books in this series. I really wish I understood why. There has been very little growth in Effie's character. We find out she's from the god realm....well that's awesome! Effie's response to that? You got it, cry and sleep! She finally gets a small amount of courage and goes to do what her "mom" said she should do. Yay her! She finally did something! Then, they all decide they have to go back to Silver Falls. Why? Well, they don't know what else to do. So, going to the school to pick up your stuff sounds like a good idea. Insert my eyes rolling here!

At this stage the only thing keeping me reading is that I like the harem and I want to see how it ends. I've read much better books by this author, so I'm disappointed with how her female MC is so weak in this series. You can do better M. Sinclair! It shouldn't take more than 4 books for an MC to show growth and become interesting. Yes, Effie has potential, but 4 books of her being a sniveling idiot makes her super unlikable!

The story continues where book 3 left off. We are learning the answer to a few questions but yet it leaves so many more unanswered questions. Effie is this incredibly sweet but un experienced about so many things in the world and as we journey alongside her seeing things that she is experiencing for the first time is a beautiful sight. It gives a new appreciation to things taken advantage of for others. We are slowly learning about the guys past and what a past most them have experienced. Then we keep get pulled further and further into dangerous situations. They just can’t seem to get a break.

The story has pulled me from the very first book and this one is no different. M. Sinclair has such a beautiful writing style that it makes you feel like you are part of their world. The characters become friends and family as they progress through the story. All the while you take the journey with them, rooting for a beautiful outcome. Her books are always well written and developed. Yes, this book does end in a major cliffhanger and boy I can’t wait to see what happens next. Absolutely pick up this book/series and completely emerge yourself in a world with magic, shifters, Gods and Goddesses. You will not be disappointed.

Well I don’t think anybody expected that bombshell at the of the last one and into the start of this book! It opens up a whole new set of possibilities as to what Effie may be!! 😳 but the information that Mona brings highlights the true risk to females through their world and the devious plans that Hastain is enacting 😬😬
With how sweet a person Effie is she knows she has to do what’s being asked for her to save others from the hand she was dealt!
So Effie and her mates begin a quest of sorts in aid of helping other women which takes them around the world and facing a number of obstacles along the way, yet with each step Effie learns more about herself since her magic with some memories coming back! It’s written so well that you think you can start to put her part together and then something else happens 🙈🙈
I love how possessive and protective each of her men are, you really see it come out in this book! But also how they put old differences aside and come together for Effie 🥰🥰
Can they outrun Hastain as he suspects what they’re up to or will he put a stop to it once and for all with that cliffhanger?? 🫣🫣

This fourth book of the series sheds more light on Effie's origins as she slowly discovers her full powers. The connection within the blood- pack itself and the the relationships with the main heroine is so genuine that it simply melted my little dark heart.

I loved the tenderness between the characters, the strong bonds that are being build as they face challenges together as a united front and mostly I appreciated the fact that each of her partners was very supportive and understanding from the very first day. For me at least, this was a pleasant surprise as sometimes we tend to forget that relationships come naturally and should be left to develop at their own pace.

Pursued is packed with action and revelations. Exquisite writing and character development throughout the book and the series so far. Another beautiful work executed by M. Sinclair.

I did not realise that there is another book coming in August 2023 when I started the series, so as I reached the end of Pursued and saw that there is one more book, I was devastated that I won't be able to see Effie's story until the end yet. Well, looking forward to August 23rd as Silver Falls University is definitely going on my guilty pleasure list.

So we now that Effie is a goddess and has both kitsune and lykos magic. She encounters Ryders grandfather when she goes to the stone that symbolizes the kitsune. She transforms and Ryder helps her because her body tries to reject the magic. Then they run into Caedmon’s father when they go to see the stone for the lykos. Effie runs into Victoria, the woman who hurt Caedmon, and she defends him and then she is killed. They go back to the school to talk to Ruby. They need to get the key back from the dark god. The key will allow the divine realm to open and allow true magic back onto Earth. They talk to Ruby because she knows his son. They are attacked with magic and they all wake up locked in the caves by the school. They are all chained up, and Ryder has magic cancelling cuffs. It was Haistan and he wants her to break her mate bonds and mate with him. He sends in some Lycan shifters to kill her mates. They all break from their bonds and fight but a fourth lycan sneaks in. She is able to compel them with her magic to stop. Her magic stops working and a lycan charges her, grabs her neck and they both go over the edge into the icy water. The last thing she sees is Ryder following after her.

I was so excited to be jumping back into this series with book number 4, and it starts right back off with Effie having just met Mona outside of her dreams and being told how important she is to Effie’s past. As you can guess Effie’s more than a little overwhelmed. Effie was able to get some answers to a few of the questions she had about her past during the conversation, but those answers also came with more new questions. As Effie and her mates are trying to figure it all out, and what it means for them all, we were able to see more of their relationships growing and how they all interact and work together. I enjoyed finally finding out more about her mates pasts along the way, as well as all we learned about Effie’s. I was glad to see more magic aspects in this book, as well as lots more smexy time too!

Overall, this is another fantastic continuation of the Silver Falls University Series. I’m really looking forward to the next book, even if that cliffy ending was a bit evil on M Sinclair’s part lol. Definitely a must read.

We're jumping right back in where book 3 left off. We're slowly getting a few answers to questions we've had but, we get some more questions that leave us questioning things. Effie is a wonderful FMC, even though she is inexperienced with so many different things of the world. We get to go on the journey of discovery with her, and experience the world she missed out on through her eyes.

We also dive deeper into the guy's pasts and see what they've experienced in their lives. The one thing these guys all are is fiercely protective of Effie, and they love her so much. Effie feels equally as strong about all her mates and wants all of them safe and protected.

Their story isn't without the danger that continues to plague them that they meet head-on. The evil will continue to be in the shadows until they get rid of it themselves. And boy do they meet it during the cliffhanger, it was a brutal one. One amazing thing about M. Sinclair's FMCs and MMCs, they all eventually learn to grow and count on one another.

Effie is back with her amazing mates. Pursued picks up right where Discovered left us and doesn’t stop with the constant twists and turns. In this book we get more insight into Effie and her men’s histories. Some of those backgrounds will rip your heart out at their cruelty. That being said, they have come so far, not only emotionally individually but also as a group. The men’s only focus is keeping Effie safe at all costs. She is their world and no one will come between them. That doesn’t stop the evils that be. There is danger and suspense all through the book and I loved every second of it. Each and every character in this series is l so well written. You can feel their emotions as if they are your own. WARNING!!! The cliffhanger in this one will make you gasp and want to curse the authors name!! I can’t believe how it ended and I’m wounded. I am not so patiently waiting for the next one.

Wow. I literally couldn't put this book down. Effie and her guys are honestly some of favourite characters and I am blown away as usual.

This book picks up right where book 3 left us with that cliffhanger, we learn that Effie is from the divine realm and it isn't just hers and her mates bonds that could be in jeopardy, but so many female wolves out there who could be forced into an unwanted bond. To save herself and others, Effie and her guys must go and unlock her powers so that she can unlock the gate to the divine realm.

I adore that throughout this book, Effie and her guys have some serious personal growth, along with strengthening the bonds within their pack and between mates.

The way this book ended on another literal cliffhanger had me almost throwing my phone qt the wall, but I am so so excited for the next book in Effies story.
