He moved in and out of the shadows, staying out of view as he made his way through the streets of the small town.
Suddenly he stopped. This, he knew, had been his destination all along.
A car pulled up in front of the house. The door swung open and a woman he immediately recognized stepped out. The woman, he now understood, was his prey. He moved out of the shadows, waiting for the right moment.
And then the time was right.
She let out a scream, her high-pitched cry of terror piercing the rainy night...
I read the first half in early 2006, but lost interest, and finished it in May 2007. As the series advanced, I found the characterisation and dialogue increasingly unbelievable, full of cliché and what I felt was a failed attempt to describe heightened emotions. There were also lots of attempts to use native spirituality; in the end she saves her boyfriend from the curse by stabbing him three times - once in the head, and finally in the heart! At the same time a battle is raging between the good white wolf and the evil spirit one.

Garth and Miranda have to fight for there love and his life. The battle with evil is coming upon them and they must use everything they have to fight it. Can they fight obstacles in their way or will their fear and the rage/fear of others get in the way.
I was disappointed in the book. I wanted more about the mystery and how to overcome the evil and instead there was just too much relationship drama.
