It wouldn't be Christmas without Santa Paws! And when problems start to turn up on the Callahan vacation, our favorite canine hero will be there to save the day!
The Callahans are about to settle in for an unusually snowy holiday at home, when a last minute opportunity lands them in the tropics instead. With surfboards, sand castles, and sunshine, this vacation to Christmas Island might be the best trip the Callahans have ever taken. While the Callahans try to relax, Santa Paws is hard at work. He saves people from drowning and even prevents Abigail the cat from being devoured by an aligator. But before the holiday is over, it's Santa Paws who will need to be rescued. You'll never guess who saves the day! It's a magical Christmas for everyone.
It's been years and I suddenly found myself thinking about the dad in this book and how he worked from home usually, hanging out with the pets, just vibes!!!!!!!
Santa Paws On Christmas Island was a fun children's book. I actually enjoyed this little book more than I thought it would. I am sure kids will enjoy this story and fall in love with Santa Paws. I thought the plot was adorable and fun. Perfect book for Christmas time. Santa Paws has some Lassie in him. I loved that Santa Paws saves the lives of many people throughout the book. I definitely recommend this book for children. What kid does not want to read about a dog that saves people?
Loved this book so much! Read this for a project I had to do for my Language Arts class. I enjoyed how this is a Christmasy book, but you can read it during the summer without feeling out of place cause you're reading a festive book. If you like holiday-themed books about adventure, family, dogs, and/or all of the above, I would 100% recommend this book.
My favorite part was when Santa paws and cookie made out out of the storm alive.the worst part was when there was a huge storm.my favorite character was cookie, because he was a cute black dog.the west character was Thomas, because he put garbage on the beach on purpose.Auryn 9yo
I liked the first three books in this series. After that, not so much. This is one of the better of the later books! It was interesting to have Santa Paws out of the snow, in the ocean. I like the talk about the dolphins. It had a couple of good, small, mysteries. Recommended for Santa Paws fans.
2018 The consistency of Kris Edwards stories bother me (mostly because she just changes things at will). First, she adds Cookie in as another dog character who is basically Santa Paws but smaller. In the previous book, Santa Paws Saves the Day, she writes, "The dog {Santa Paws} had been a little worried when the new puppy joined their household, almost a year ago. Would he have to share his Milk-Bones with her?" and later writes... "She {Cookie} was almost full-grown now, though not nearly as big as Santa Paws. But a year ago, when she had turned up looking for a home, she had been only a puppy herself, a little fluffy black thing."
Now in Santa Paws on Christmas Island, she writes. "Santa Paws had been the one to bring the energetic, little curly-haired black puppy home with him. She was a stray, just as he had been, and he knew the Callahans would make room for her in their lives. As it turned out, Cookie bonded so strongly with Miranda that it soon became obvious that they belonged together. Now Cookie lived with Miranda and Lucy and their parents, Steve and Emily."
I know it's just a little thing, but at least try to be a little consistent with the story. 1. First, Cookie shows up looking for a home. Then, Santa Paws had brought her. 2. She lived with the Callahans for at least the first year of her life. Then, she soon bonded strongly with the Miranda, a cousin.
I'm not even five pages in on rereading this book and I'm annoyed
Great, now we are coming towards the end of the novel, and we meet Santa Claus. Like for realsies. I'm a little annoyed by this, too. Previously, all the books focused towards realism. It is realistic-ish, for all of Santa Paws's rescues. But now Santa Claus, in all of his glory, has crashlanded and needs Santa Paws's help to untangle his reindeer's reins and pick up all the spilled presents.
SUPER GOOD book! I love how Santa Paws and Cookie missed and returned to their owners. I payed no attention to Patrisha's messed up love life whatsoever. I reccomend this book!.
