A doctor is accused of killing a retarded baby on the operating table. The father of the child later drunkenly says he did it deliberately as a favor. The police have to prosecute when evidence turns up of his possible guilt. Can his defense lawyer prove he's innocent?
A really fascinating concept, and an intriguing book. Very enjoyable, even if the ending is a bit abrupt.
