Unfortunately, I had to return this book to the library before I had finished it. However, on looking through it I got the distinct impression that I hadn’t missed much.
A chapter about medical tests by which to diagnose the condition was incomprehensible to me as a laywoman. Then there were chapters about medication, surgery and the like, none of which I found at all helpful.
There was a tiny chapter about vitamins recommending tiny, risible amounts of the various vitamins.
The author, a doctor, has apparently himself this condition.
I didn’t find the book helpful in any way, and would instead recommend the three books on the subject written by Catherine M. Simone, who has healed herself of this painful condition by alternative methods.
Very helpful for those at any stage of Interstitial Cystitis. I was diagnosed almost 4 years ago, and this book has been my IC Bible. Sadly, I'm to the point where I will most likely be having a diversion, but this book will, I know, still continue to be helpful.
