The Mind of Sasquatch: And the Secret to Their Success (a theory) by Christopher No??l

Rate this book
***The Sasquatch Savant Theory*** Although we cannot study the psychology of Sasquatch directly, we are in good position already to make educated guesses about their mentality based on behavioral analysis. Skeptics are fond of asking, as though no answer were remotely possible, "HOW could an eight-foot-tall primate exist undiscovered in our backyard?" This book meets the issue head-on, offering a personality profile of the species that differs substantially from those offered before. Sasquatch are hardwired by evolution to conceal themselves, interacting with us only in a mediated, indirect fashion. Their tactical genius and other striking abilities mirror gifts seen in people known as autistic savants. Exploring this surprising connection in depth, THE MIND OF SASQUATCH makes a fresh contribution to our collective pursuit of one of the profound puzzles of our time—the true nature of this kindred species. The book was strange, but not uninteresting; however, I am not certain what, exactly, the author's point is. Maybe it was just me, but I really didn't see where he was going with this. Anyway, a few interesting things, especially the theory that autistic behaviors could be advantageous for survival in the wilderness. After reading this, I will have to read Temple Grandin.

Love this Theory

There are parts of this book that were a little hard to follow but once I got into to it I found the author's theory very compelling.

Deep and thorough examinations of subject.

This should be a "must read" on anyone's list who are interested in the nature and habitat of Bigfoot. The astute observation of the author when comparing the known factors of autism with the addition of the ability to concentrate on subjects as an inborn latent ability comparing this to bigfoot desires to conceal his or herself is fascinating. I believe that we may be on a true path to understanding the inner workings of the Bigfoot brain. The liberal use of works by T. Grandon certainly add a depth of information that hasn't been considered before. This should be used as an addendum to every researchers field journal. Deep, but very informative, worth true study not just an entertaining skimming type of read.

Fascinating & a must read for the serious Sasquatch seeker!

I have been obsessed with bigfoot since childhood. I've never doubted its existence yet the 'how" & "what" remain a secret obsession. After tiring of the encounter story lines, I found this genuine, mesmerizing work of brilliance in a sea of silly "self-proclaimed" bigfoot experts still banging on trees. I'm VERY impressed with the theory, the research, the writing & I must excuse myself as I have another book to read (lol)! PS..This is the first book review I have ever left! (And I'm sure it's quite obvious) Thank you Mr Noel, my recorders are working overtime here in the Northern Catskill Mts

Interesting theory

Whether or not you believe in Sasquatch, this book makes interesting reading. His theory describes the type of mind that would be required for a creature that large to remain hidden as well as they have, (assuming they exist.) The detail oriented, focused mind of a savant is a very good suggestion with its unusually good memory and exclusion of the distractions common to the rest of us. He carefully relates his theory with appropriate references and in doing so makes a good case that a creature like Bigfoot could actually be surviving and living in parallel with us. This is a more scholarly approach than your usual Bigfoot book, most of whom ply us with grainy photos and anecdotal evidence, often with tedious relation of how many rocks were thrown and how many whoops answered. There is some of that here, but always in the context of his theory and he manages to make it interesting. I definitely recommend it if you are interested in more than a scary tale on a rainy night.

Sasquatch as autistic savants? Or more specifically sharing common traits/behaviors as human autistic savants. The most compelling (and plausible?) theory on this subject I've read. Noel's grasp of the subject matter is remarkable, and his reports of his experiences are equally intriguing. I look forward to reading more in Part 2....

Over my head

They is book was to much over my head to comprehend. Wish I could have understood more of its content, but what I did was very thought provoking. I think it is amazing how they can avoid us. This book does a goog job of explaining that but hard to understand by the layman as me.

Deep research

Noel has written a very detailed and well researched book on Bigfoot. He's looked beyond the usual theories and has reached a remarkable conclusion. Very interesting and compelling.
