I'd like to comment on the translation (God's Word Translation) and the helps (the "Praying the Scriptures" part.
It is my habit to read the Bible through, completely (though not necessarily in the order the books appear) in a systematic fashion. I take longer than a year to do it, usually about 2-1/2 years. My method is to check books off as I read them, trying not to leave just the hard ones (Ezekiel, Leviticus, Revelation) all to the end!
Anyhow, I enjoy reading a different translation each time. So I chose GWT for this reading. I found it to be an enjoyable, understandable translation. Perhaps it is not as accurate as others, but I found no issues with it that would interfere with good theology or practice, so it was fine for a reading Bible. In fact, perhaps better than other translations because it wasn't too familiar to have fresh meaning.
As for the helps (prayers based on the text that appear in the margins) -- they were fine, but not a huge part of the experience for me. Often I skipped them. But I'm very used to praying Scripture on my own, so I may not have appreciated them as much as other readers who are not used to this practice.
At any rate, an enjoyable reading Bible that I would easily recommend.
