This is a brief biography of the artist, Faith Ringgold. There are a lot of pictures of her growing up and of her artwork. It is a nice introduction to an artist for a younger audience, maybe middle grade. I didn't care for the cartoons, though. They didn't add anything to the information being presented and the space could have been used for better design and more images of Ms. Ringgold's works. I did think that this book did a nice job presenting her life and sharing some of her influences. It didn't shy away from some of her more controversial paintings or discussing her political activism.
