This book offers positive, achievable steps to help readers determine how to move past issues such as discouragement, stress, difficult relationships, aging, loneliness, depression, and grief.
I really liked this comprehensive book; it contained a lot of very helpful information and advice for forming good habits which encourage positive thinking and behaviour. I would highly recommend "Choosing Happiness Even When Life Is Hard" to anyone who is struggling to be happy in life. I also appreciated Dr. Minirth's Christian perspective on medication for mental health problems.
The only thing I didn't like about this book was that is was a little dry -- or at least it seemed so to me. However, I've been super busy these last few months and didn't have a lot of time to focus continually on reading this book, so others may have a different reading experience than I did.
A chapter everything am leads to a bright & productive day. Skip the paragraphs that don't apply to you. His selected scriptures are wonderful. Highlight the ones that seem to be there for you. The chapter on the mature years will greatly be appreciated by those over 60. He has included powerful anecdotes to strengthen his premises.
