They say that if you read the Bhagavad Gita repeatedly, you can derive a new meaning from your readings each time. "From Mind to Super-mind" probably presents one such derivation, albeit of an order that could only be gleaned after many readings of the Gita. Setting aside the more simpler and obvious derivations of the verses, it replaces actors with the human mind and the average human psyche, showing how its qualities and attributes affect everything we encounter, and how it weaves this playful web around us, keeping us entrapped forever. The author very finely brings out the teachings of Krishna as a lesson in understanding the mystery of the mind and its workings, and to eventually free oneself from this game, and to learn to do this even without having to renounce everyday life. A truly wonderful read, and magically weaved just like the original Gita itself (not that I have any grasp of Sanskrit, but I imagine that is how magical it must have seemed).
