This book was absolutely awful. First of all, it was nearly impossible to follow. It is very old, so the writing is obviously difficult, but this one felt worse than other old books I’ve read. Not only that, but there were so many characters, most of whom were not really important, but then I got all mixed up and couldn’t remember who was actually important. To add to this confusion, the names were all ridiculous, impossible to pronounce, and extremely similar. The little I could understand was quite unimpressive. An unexceptional plot, no character building, and lots of useless details. (As Aubrey and I like to call it, “fluff”) I really felt like whoever translated this was trying to say things in the most indirect and confusing way possible. It did have one redeeming quality though: it was only 57 pages!

I'm finally finished!! That was quite possibly the worst book I've ever read. (even worse than Billy Budd Sailor) It was very difficult to know what was going on, all the names were nearly the same and were impossible to remember, and the plot was not brilliant. I know this is classic literature, but that doesn't make it a good book.

This book was awful. I hardly understood what it was saying, and the only reason I was able to finish it was because of all the sticky-notes on the pages summarizing each page.

Hard to read sometimes, and a bit daunting because the paragraphs are bigger than they need to be, but you get the main idea. It would be helpful to read it more than once and make a list of the characters to keep track of them all.
If you have ever read the inheritence cycle, you will notice that Paolini must have read this because there are some names that come from beowulf in his books.
