The Lost Tarot of Nostradamus
This pack contains 78 full-color tarot cards as well as an illustrated instructional booklet.
In 1994 a researcher working in the Italian National Library in Rome discovered a manuscript containing 80 mysterious paintings, believed to have been devised by the mysterious prophet Michael de Nostredame, better known as Nostradamus. The manuscript, never published in his lifetime, was handed down to his son who later presented it to Pope Urban VIII. After that, it remained forgotten and neglected.
A brief glance at these extraordinary images shows how heavily they draw on the symbolism of Tarot. It is the belief of Tarot experts, Matthews and Kinghan, that Nostradamus was designing his own set of cards, drawing upon the visionary insights gleaned from his prophetic writings and visions. Now this Tarot has been brought to fruition by two modern experts and its secrets revealed for the first time.

He has been a full time writer since 1980 and has produced over ninety books on the Arthurian Legends and Grail Studies, as well as short stories and a volume of poetry. He has devoted much of the past thirty years to the study of Arthurian Traditions and myth in general. His best known and most widely read works are ‘Pirates’ (Carlton/Atheneum), No 1 children’s book on the New York Times Review best-seller list for 22 weeks in 2006, ‘The Grail, Quest for Eternal Life’ (Thames & Hudson, 1981) ‘The Encyclopaedia of Celtic Wisdom’ (Element, 1994) and ‘The Winter Solstice’ (Quest Books, 1999) which won the Benjamin Franklin Award for that year. His book ‘Celtic Warrior Chiefs’ was a New York Public Library recommended title for young people.

February 3, 2019i was gifted this set by my good friend during yule and i love it. I can appreciate the work that went into the deck and the art incredible. I know this is a book site and i should probably review the book, except I'm unsure what to say about it besides it did its job (and oh was it necessary with such an idiosyncratic deck). But i just absolutely love this deck, even if i was apprehensive about the more.. religious nature of its theme before receiving it.
4.5/5 only bc it's often hard to connect w a lot of the cards unless you have learned their meaning by heart, due to the vagueness of a lot of the drawings/symbols.

A very un-traditional Tarot deck, full of mythological creatures, ecclesiastical figures, kings and other royalties.
A innovative way to connect Nostradamus prophecies with Tarot cards.
It is a challenge to learn all the new meanings and things related to Nostradamus prophecies but it is worthy to learn them.
Recommended for collectors and people who want to be outside of conventional meanings.
