But I’m about to find out the hard way what happens when you don’t follow this rule. One-click today and sink your claws into this hot Romantic Comedy that will keep you purring.
Even though it was a fun story, with a lot of funny situations, unfortunately I couldn't get into it. I do believe it was just not for me. I kept finding the characters annoying from the beginning till the end. I really couldn't find anything to make me like them, and I tried.
I recieved an Arc via BookSirens and am voluntarily leaving my review.
This was a good read. Emily is having a bad night and things just kept getting worse. Then she meets Logan and things begin to change. They end up having a fling but Logan refuses to be serious. He has past and he is afraid he will ruin everything. Luckily in the end everything works out and they get their happy ending.
I read this book as an ARC through Booksirens.com. It was my first experience with the website so I wasn't sure what to expect. I didn't know if the site just had brand new authors that weren't great yet. I was pleasantly surprised by this book. It was an enjoyable read. I gave it 4 stars on Amazon. It seems like everyone rates higher on Amazon than here. It is dual first person point of view. There are some decent sex scenes. At least 30 usages of the f-bomb. (Did a search on the word.) Please be warned and don't read and leave a bad review because those things offend you.
Another surprise is the author is Italian and this book was translated. It is a great translation. I didn't find anything that was said in a non American way. The only thing that was said strangely was Emily stated she would "write everything down on the computer." I would say that conveyed her awkwardness in the office but otherwise she seemed to be proficient at the office work and never had any problems.
There were small things that could have made the book funnier. Emily claims to have bad luck with animals and her friends give some examples but other than the cat's behavior the first two or three days, there weren't examples of this happening in the book. There could have been just a little more meat to the story in general.
I will admit to skimming through the conversations she had with her friends. They weren't that long but didn't add much to the story. That's at odds with my next thought. Logan could have had a conversation earlier on about Emily with his friend Stephen.
Logan supposedly works out daily but in the beginning, it doesn't seem like his schedule ever fits that in.
One pet peeve - the vet tells a pet owner her pet has a cold and then gives them antibiotics for a cold. That's being nitpicky.
The last 1/4 of the story or so didn't flow as smoothly. I can't explain that without spoilers. Luckily, the author didn't drag out their breakup. The epilogue could have been better.
While this wasn't the most interesting or most funny romance I've ever read, it is good for an afternoon beach read. I am guessing there will be another with Stephen and one of her friends. I would definitely read that.
This is a romantic comedy that will give you a good chuckle. The story begins with our 22 year old heroine Emily, who is delivering pizza by riding a scooter very recklessly in bad weather. After running a red light, she causes an accident with involves a black cat. A Driver (Logan) who witnessed the accident, stops to deliver aid to the cat and herself. Thus begins the story.
Logan and Emily could not be more polar opposites of each other. Much mayhem ensues, because Emily seems to attract trouble wherever she goes. Add in a whole cast of delightful background characters, from Emily’s besties Kate and Sarah, Logan’s BFF Stephen, Logan’s elderly staff and Demon Satan’s Helper, and you have a fun story that will entertain you on holiday or a Sunday afternoon.
Whilst I had no real issue with it, it needs mentioning that the “F” word is very frequently used in dialogue throughout this story. I’m not sure whether it was a translation/ cultural thing, but whilst I swear like a sailor at times myself, there were instances (in my opinion) during this story that the level of swearing wasn’t warranted and detracted slightly from the flow of dialogue. The translation of this story was excellent, there were only a few instances where the wording was a slightly awkward English translation.
This is the first time I’ve read a book by this Author and won’t be the last, since I enjoyed the story. Whilst this is a standalone novel, it could easily evolve into a series featuring the BFFs. In a way I genuinely hope it does, because there is potentially so much more to Emily & Logan’s antics and it would be nice to revisit with this fun couple.
Final Rating 4.5 stars.
Thank you to AC Pontone and BookSirens for giving me an copy of this novel. I am voluntarily reviewing and giving a honest opinion of this ARC
I want to give this an extra star for Demon the Cat, but I can't honestly justify the indulgence--this is a solid three-star book.
Emily Baker's life suuucks. She is one pizza delivery away from the end of a shift, and wouldn't you know there is a cat out there just waiting to eff up her entire life.
Long, hard days at a veterinary practice aren't the only reason Logan Price is grumpy; that quality is part of his disposition. Having a near-miss collision with a delivery scooter that almost wipes out a kitty cat is the last straw for today.
Yet after the altercation, Logan has no idea why the wrong-doer is turning him on, why he's taking her back to his clinic with the cat, why he's making the near cat killer a cat owner, or why he's demanding she and the cat come back the following day. It has something to do with pheromones, or possibly he's thinking with the wrong body part.
These two are an odd couple, and they are cute together. Emily is very whacky to Logan's straight guy. Demon is further whacky to both of them. Oops, My Bad is a cute Rom-Com that has many chuckles. But one of the things it lacks is steam in its steamy parts. Those parts are rushed and read awkwardly. It feels like they are supposed to be dirty, but they are just dirty words instead.
Overall I did enjoy this read even though it has some clunky faults.
I voluntarily reviewed a complimentary advance copy of this book.
Emily and animals don’t get along. When a traffic accident with an SUV, driven by a steamy hot Veterinarian causes her to lose her Pizza delivery job, she is desperate to find another job, so when the not so nice, but very good looking Vet offers her a job as an administrator in his clinic, she has no choice but to accept it.
With her boss being crabby, and a jerk all of the time, and all of the animals out to get her, It is more “desperation than a determination that makes her keep the job.”
Neither Emily nor the Vet, Logan, have any interest in giving in to the electricity that seems to come between them when they are in the same room.
This book is an easy read, not one that requires a lot of thought or work to get through. The last couple of books I have read have requires a lot of attention and thought to keep the plot lines and the characters straight. Not so with Oops, My Bad. It is a great book to read on the beach or when you just want to give your mind a break and a little fun. Not a lot of depth to the story, but sometimes, that is just the kind of book you need to read.
I laughed out loud on nearly every page in the book and I couldn’t put it down. I finished it in a day!
I recommend this book to anyone who doesn’t mind foul language or steamy sex scenes, and who is ready for a good rom-com.
I received an advance review copy for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily.
I normally find urban fantasy or PNR much more my style, but I loved the title so much I took a chance on an advanced readers copy. I am so glad.
The staging was realistic. Emily is desperately trying to make ends meet by using a bicycle to transport pizzas. It was just a matter of time until an accident would occur, and Murphy's Law indicates that it will happen at the worst of times. It does; that one accident was the difference between fiscal solvency and total destitution.
Even worse, the hot guy who steps out of the sports convertible saves the cat and almost ignores her completely. LOL, I knew from the blurb this would happen, but it still caught me. Emily's only saving grace is that she convinces him to take her home, too. I assume he sees another stray...
Logan, for his part, does seem like a strong, manly man. He has family problems that you might relate to, and he needs a receptionist for his clinic. He is not nearly as rich as he portrays, so I can relate more to him.
It is pure romance. It is a great weekend summer read, and I smiled a lot. The plot was not an excuse for the romance, thank goodness! Totally cool.
Oops, my bad is like the story of my life lol. Emily's life seems to be going not so well... she's living in one of the most expensive cities in the world and can't keep a steady job. One night trying to deliver pizzas on her work scooter, she nearly runs into a cat causing her to wreck, and who should come to get rescue but superman.... well not really, it's actually a grumpy vet who holds her responsible for the cat. Logan makes her take ownership of the cat against her multiple objections... especially since the cat is a demon and hates her.
Logan offers her a job working at the vet as his receptionist and eventually offers for her to stay with him since the cat got her evicted from her apartment.
Of course, one thing led to another and they start having a friends with benefits relationship... feelings weren't supposed to be involved, until they were. And now Emily is terrified to tell him her secret.
You need to read this! It's funny, sweet, angsty, sexy, and has a hilarious HEA!
It is a short romantic read, for anyone who wants to be distracted for a little. I really liked the way the book started, it held my attention. The FL is a little unlucky and miserable but she doesn't give up and had a positive outlook on everything. It was a little difficult to sympathise with the ML, I didn't feel like his past justified his feelings about being in a committed relationship. I believe that those that come from a broken home would do anything in their power to create a loving home. I like how the book didn't introduce any previous love interests and create an unnecessary misunderstanding.
The cat was just poor evil, I would not put up with it.
The reason it didn't get 5 stars, is because I didn't connect the characters, I honestly didn't really care that much for them.
So I recomend this book for anyone who enjoys light romantic reads, with a hint of humour.
I want to thank the author for giving me a ARC, and to disclaim that this is an honest review.
Emily is a hot mess, a magnet for embarrassing moments and accidents. She’s working as a pizza delivery person in New York during the middle of winter on a scooter. She runs a red light almost gets hit by an SUV and then almost hits a cat. That’s when she meets Logan and Demon the cat. She ends up with a new pet cat, more bills, new job (her accident gets her fired), a new place to live (Demon gets her evicted) and lots of situations to deal with. Logan has issues of his own thanks to a horrible childhood and bad luck. Things get complicated but their journey is entertaining. When your reading Emily’s point of view she’s relatable to most of us but she’s a nut when you read from Logan’s. It’s funny, you feel her bad moments and the ending is happy. It’s a good read.

Emily is on her pizza delivery moped in icy weather when she crashes avoiding a cat that is in the road. She and the cat are rescued by a handsome vet Logan who is passing, however she ends up homeless after losing her job plus she is given the bill for the cats treatment. She takes a job at the vets as receptionist despite having a less than ideal relationship with animals.
Very spicy, so don't read if that will offend you, the story is about the mutual attraction that they both have to each other that they try to ignore. With humour amongst the spicy bits, the cat called Demon and a friendly St Bernard called Bob I did enjoy this book, even though I normally prefer something "sweeter".
I received an advance copy of this book from the publisher, however this did not influence my review.
Emily is delivering the last pizza of her shift at her crappy job and running late when she runs a red light, almost hits an suv, then crashes her scooter trying to avoid a stray cat. She imagines the hot suv driver being her superman coming to her rescue, but he's more concerned for the cat. After forcing this unwanted cat on her, she loses her apartment, her job, and her scooter. Feeling somewhat responsible, Logan offers her a receptionist job at his vet practice and the guest room in his apartment. Because of events in his past, he is determined not to become involved with her, but he can't seem to stay away.
This book was funny but I wish there'd been more awkward animal encounters. The description of her evil cat Demon was hilarious. And the chemistry between Logan and Emily is hot, hot, hot. I received an advance review copy for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily.
Emily is an adorably clumsy young woman who is working as a pizza delivery person when she is hit while driving her delivery scooter by Logan, a hot Veterinarian driving an SUV. After losing her job, Logan agrees to let her work as an administrator in his clinic, which is not exactly ideal since he is a grumpy jerk and the animals really do NOT like Emily. However, they can easily see an attraction growing between them and, when they give in, the end result is a positive pregnancy test. Can they make it work, in spite of all of their differences and a wacky black cat named Demon determined to break them apart? The book is a cute romantic comedy that is an easy read. I would recommend this for a quiet weekend or a beach read, when readers might be looking to enjoy a book that doesn’t get too involved or dramatic but is just lighthearted fun.
Who is Emily? How does she meet Logan? What does she end up doing for work and why? What is Logan? I was chuckling pages into this story at Emily's self-talk about the goldfish. Why does Emily get fired? What happens that night? Who does she turn to? What happens to and with Logan after he gives in to his baser instincts/desires? What happens to Emily at work? Oh goodness, things do not go at all as expected! I could not help but to chuckle at the ending. Read and see why. Enjoy it!
RECEIVED THIS BOOK AS A GIFT from Booksirens FOR A FAIR/HONEST REVIEW and REVIEWER FOR Bloggin' With M. Brennan.
From an inauspicious first meeting to a fantastic ending, this book built up steam as it went. I loved the characters of Emily and Logan, as well as their friends. Even though Emily’s grandmother wasn’t alive, she still had a big impact on Emily and, in the end, a big impact on Logan and Emily reuniting. It’s always nice to see family/the memories of beloved family members in these stories used to shape characters...even if it’s awful parents. Even awful parents have something to teach us, especially in love stories.
Logan and Emily’s happily ever after was great. I would be interested in seeing a follow-up for Stephen and Logan’s neighbor as well.

This was a cute fun read. This is an older man, younger woman, boss/employee, surprise pregnancy romance. I liked a majority of this story it had a nice flow to it. Logan is a grumpy vet who finds Emily laying on the road after she tried to avoid hitting a cat. He has an instant attraction to her, but is rude a grumpy to her because she is too young for him. After helping the cat and Emily, he finds himself offer her a job. Emily is struggling and after the accident with the cat she finds herself out of a job and now a cat to take care of and she is on the verge of being evicted. I liked the story, there was just some parts where Emily came off immature and childish and that's just not my cup of tea as the saying goes.
I received an ARC and volunteered to leave a review!
This was a very enjoyable, light-hearted read. Great for a lazy day I-need-a-good-fun-chuckle afternoon. Characters were well-developed and relatable. There were scenes I laughed out loud at and found myself smiling throughout the book.
My only complaint is the end just kinda smacks you in the face. No real lead up to the ending - just kind of like - BOOM - HEA, I guess. And the F word is used over and over (which my hard to offend self doesn’t mind, but others may).
Definitely recommend for an enjoyable, easy read.
Thanks to Booksirens and the author for a free ARC in exchange for my honest review.
This was quite cute love story. They was like magnets. They met by accident. Everything, step by step, was pure coincidence. He refused to see good in himself and stopped believing he can be loved. His past putting shadows on his present. She fake it till she make it at work or with Demon (this cat, this cat is something for sure, maybe even a demon, who knows 😂). But she has fallen for him, fast and hard, but she was sure he did not. They both denied theirs feelings. It was beautiful story of love, of leaving past behind and of taking a chance.
I received an ARC from the author thru Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving my review. I really enjoyed Emily and Logan's story. They were opposites that fit together. Logan did not want to be happy. Emily was just such a hot mess that she was one thing he couldn't ignore. The storyline was full of ups and downs with laughter thrown in. The characters pulled you in, page by page. You will want to pick up this book and get caught up the the ride of their lives.

I loved the book, it was hilarious, embarrassing and at times frustrating!
There were moments when I was frustrated with the plot that I closed my screen and Wales away but ten minutes later picked it back up because I absolutely HAD to know what the ending was for this book.
I feel like anyone who is looking for a good laugh, wanting to hide underneath your pillow, blanket or to cover your face this is the book for you!
Truly wonderfully written and I received an advance review copy for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily.; I look forward to future ARC’s from this author.
What a cute quick read!!! Emily really is all messed up and pair that with the all put together Logan, welll opposites attract. It all begans with Satan's Little Helper being the cause of Emily's accident off her Vespa, and long story short, Logan, the superhero who's really a vet seems to be more worried about the life of the kitten affectionately named Demon than Emily. Emily's life goes pear-shaped and Logan comes to the rescue of sorts.
It was a cute quick read and I wouldnt mind reading about Logan's friend Stephen!!!
I didn't want to put this book down and it is, without a doubt, one of those books that your sad when it's over because you want more! Their love story is funny, clumsy, adorable, and worth the read!
This is the first book i’ve read by A.C. Pontone & I really enjoyed it. The characters were quirky, with a magnetic chemistry & are unapologetic in their beliefs. I was immediately drawn into this story & LOL’d many times throughout the book. As I don’t want to ruin it for you, I will not explain any further. Do yourself a favor & read this book! I was given an advanced cooy of this book in exchange for an honest review.
She has just run over a cat and a handsome stranger has come to help but he is more interested in the cat than her. He is a vet and she will have to work with him to pay the bill for the treatment. She knows she is in trouble as the animals seem to hate her and she is trying to stop herself falling for the vet. What will happen if she does? How will she deal with it all? See just what will happen

I enjoyed this story. It was light hearted and a fun read. Emily is a hilarious character, her klutziness and comments are funny and entertaining, her friends are also entertaining. Logan is complicated but he pulls through.

This is not only an easy read, it's an addictive one. The characters were consistent throughout and their challenges were real. This story flowed incredibly well and I would definitely consider myself engaged with the characters. I loved their quirks and flaws as well as their virtues. I would definitely read this author again.
This was a really fun read. Not too fast paced, so I was really able to adsorb the story. Each chapter definitely ended with wanting to read the next though.
Not your typical love story, more like a love hate thing that made me laugh!
If you're looking for a fun, not to heavy on the graphic sex scenes you'll enjoy this read.
Loved this book. Emily has found herself in hard times, Unknowingly a little black cat is about to make those hard times seem like a piece of cake. Emily has some hard choices to make. This was a lovely story. One i could not put down. I not only loved the main characters, but the side characters and i hope they get their own stories too. All in all a fantastic read. well worth it.
Oops, My Bad was a short, fun read. Logan’s grumpiness toward Emily was amusing, especially since he was so attracted to her. Emily was one of those characters that was clumsy but very independent. Their story was fun to read.
