Once again, D.G. Valdron provides a sereis of essays written in the style of Jared Diamond after he's had a few drinks that paints an utterly convincing and fascinating view of several potential histories that never were.

Cranks beware - this does not purport to be the actual history of Atlantis, alien contact in the mid 20th century, Romans in America or Hyperborea - and yet, it's so well researched that I am surprised I haven't seen a few conspiracy types trying to crib notes from this thing!

It's all written in an imitable style that is simultaneously grounded in thoughtful research and analysis, but never feeling stuffy. It's always informative yet conversational at the same time.

It's very niche, but it's swell, and I recommend it for any fans of history, biology, crappy b-movies, or exotic lost worlds.
