Guests can be surprising… Ann and Rhonda continue their work at The Beach House Hotel, always striving to make their upscale property the best on the Gulf Coast of Florida. As they’ve learned, not all guests are easy. When they receive a request from Hilda Hassel, a member of the Bavarian royal family, for a two-week stay at the hotel in January, demanding the best room and high tea every afternoon, Ann is uneasy. Other Hassel family members cancelled a large, fancy wedding at the last moment leaving a mess behind. But Rhonda convinces Ann that having a royal guest could increase important European business, and Ann agrees. After deciding to give Hilda the Presidential Suite for two weeks during their high season and welcoming her to the hotel, Ann and Rhonda are left to wonder if they’ve made the biggest mistake of their lives when Hilda arrives with her “nephew” and strange things begin to happen. Another of Judith Keim’s series books celebrating love and families, strong women meeting challenges, and clean women’s fiction with a touch of romance—beach reads for all ages with a touch of humor, satisfying twists, and happy endings

All in her family shared information from the books in general conversation, giving them a wealth of knowledge and vivid imaginations.
Ms. Keim loves to hear from her readers and appreciates their enthusiasm for her stories.
I have read this entire series of books, and this one was so boring and redundant, I put it down several times, not planning to finish it. But each time, I picked it back up, hoping it would eventually get better. It didn't. There was basically no storyline. The character of Ann is so dull, and repeats the same lines and actions over and over. The only redeeming part of the book is Rhonda, with her spicy Jersey Girl mouth and attitude!
#HighTeaattheBeachHouseHotel #NetGalley is a great book that I thoroughly enjoyed reading. Even though there are several previous books I hadn't read, I was able to relate to the characters and understand the concept of the story. This book grabbed my attention and the mystery was well done. Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for selecting me to read an advanced copy of the book.
While I enjoyed this book, there were so many characters that I had trouble keeping track of who was who and how each was related to one another! I had to laugh at one point when I read "Cindy and Trudy came running...", trying to recall them, but then remembered they were dogs! I have not read the series so I think I would have enjoyed it more (and known the characters) if I had. About two thirds of the way through, the plot got VERY interesting!
Thanks to the author for an ARC in exchange for an honest review.
High Tea at the Beach House Hotel was an easy, companionable read, suitable for times when you just want to chill with a book and a drink.
The writer detailed mundane things, and tended to write in short sentences, which frankly took a little getting used to. I wish more flesh and depth could have been added to the characters and emotions of the book. Whilst it was enjoyable and at times heartwarming, I had hoped to be more invested in each character and the situations they found themselves in, rather than touch and go moments.
As always, this installment can be read as a stand alone book, but it’s so exciting to read all the books.
Ann & Rhonda are delightful characters & I enjoyed spending time with them again. We first met them in book 1, Breakfast at the Beach House Hotel! I’m thrilled to be a part of Judy Keon’s review team and can’t wait for the next books in the #TheBeachHouseHotelseries!
High Tea at the Beach House Hotel continues the story of Anna, Rhonda, and their guests. They reluctantly accept a reservation from a member of the Bavarian royal family and entourage. Their story has well developed characters, some fun situations, plot twists, and mystery.
I received a free copy of this book and am voluntarily leaving a review.
High Tea at The Beach House Hotel is the eighth book in the series. Every time a new book is released, I look forward to reading it because it's a bit like going home. Fans of the series will be able to relate to this comment because we have all come to know and love the characters in this series. Each book is a chance to catch up with everyone, and it is also an opportunity to be introduced to the possibilities of new "hotel family" being added to the group.
Ann and Rhonda pride themselves on the fact that they have made their upscale hotel one of the best! Known for protecting their guests' privacy, they are no strangers to famous people staying there. They receive a request for a stay there from a member of the Bavarian royal family, Hilda Hassel. This could open the doors for more European business, but Ann is having her doubts about this one. Eventually, Rhonda convinces Ann this will be good for business and they agree to the requests of Hilda Hassel. However, upon Hilda's arrival, they both realize things are not what they seem.
Once again, this is a story that highlights why The Beach House Hotel is such a success. Rhonda and Ann are able to handle any obstacle that crosses their path, and with the help of their amazing employees, they always come out stronger afterward.
This is a story that focuses on the strong bond of family and friendship. It's a story filled with love, laughter, a bit of mystery, and strong, female characters taking the lead. I always enjoy revisiting with the characters, and I am looking forward to the next book in the series.
I received an ARC from the author. My views are my own and are in no way influenced by anyone else.
Problems and trouble are always popping up at the Beach House Hotel. As harsh and bad as it will and can be, never doubt Ann and Rhonda’s ability to set things right. These are two tough, straight forward, hard working women that built their grit and success on overcoming obstacles that would conquer a lot of women… and men too.
If you’ve never been to the Beach House Hotel, now is the time. Once again we have special people visiting, people who come to rest, lay low and stay out of the public eye. Of course that’s not as easy as it sounds, especially when two ‘royal’ guests show up. Too bad these royals didn’t know just who they were dealing with … Ann and Rhonda won’t be easily fooled.
🤔OBSERVATIONS:
✒︎ Remember Brock Goodwin, always the snooty trouble maker in these books? Well, it’s good seeing him get a real comeuppance. Always the troublemaker, just wait till you see what happens with him. It’s all about sowing and reaping, and it’s Brock’s turn reap.
✒︎ The first several chapters are ‘catch up’ time… catching up on family and friends met in past books. This part is very slow. It’s very conversational chit chat. We don’t get into the meat of the storyline until much later, but when we do it’s hard to put the book down.
✒︎ Good ‘seeing’ Bobby (Bugs) Bailey again… ahhh the Bucs are a favorite team of mine. Getting to know his brother Rick is a bonus. Hmmm, got to wonder what matchmaking scheme Rhonda has up her sleeve for Rick…
✒︎ Ann has insecurities beginning to show…Rhonda still is her feisty self.

I received an Advanced Reader Copy and am voluntarily reviewing it. If you read my previous reviews on this series, you know that I picked it up late. I am here for all of the hijinks at the Beach House Hotel now. I just need to read the adventures from the beginning. That's the good thing about this series. Readers can pick up for any point and understand what is going on. Ms. Keim gives readers enough of the back story that they won't feel lost if they pick up in the middle of the series. This book is no exception. Because there are so many moving parts. We have a lot of character development. The biggest detail is that an heiress is on her way to the hotel and wants high tea served everyday she is there. Hilda Hassel maybe a guest that Rhonda and Anne don't want to deal with. The holidays are coming in fast and they have to figure out how to juggle family and business yet again.
As usual things do not always go as planned, Hilda Hassel is not at all who they thought she was and she brought an unexpected guest. There is just something weird about these two. Everyone at the hotel is keeping an eye out for them. Something is not right. We have past guests coming back for the holidays and they get right in the mix. Their "family" has grown. Bobby and Sydney are still around. I loved them in the last book and am so happy we get an update on their relationship. What are Rhonda and Anne going to do when the FBI get involved? How can they make sure their guests are safe and secure? It's a big job but Rhonda and Anne handle it with ease. I love the things that go on at this hotel and cannot wait to see what happens next.
If you love Judith Keim books, this one’s for you. Ann and Rhonda are still running The Beach House Hotel which gives privacy, good service and good food. As they take care of their guest, they still have time for their extended family like helping Sydney and NFL football player, Bobby find their home. They are a young couple who met at the hotel when Bobby worked there for a short time. Now the couple will be moving into the next phase of their lives. Ann and Rhonda still have a very important guest who’s on her way. Heiress Hilda Hassel is royalty and when Ann and Rhonda meet her, they get a bad feeling about her and her young, so-called nephew. Things start happening, when they notice strange men going up to the Heiress private suite. Ann and Rhonda will have to keep an eye on the heiress but they are known for privacy. They have their hands full with weddings, High Tea, holidays and and very kind older couple, who returns year after year, showed up a couple of days early. What will they do with their older guest? All rooms are full. Ann decides to takes them to her home. After all they are like family too. They end up being honorary grandparents to Ann and Vaughn son, especially since they have no children or grandchildren. More love for their son. The story entwines all of the people from the other books. This one has a little mystery.especially when things go missing. Will they find the culprits? Will they figure out what’s going on with the heiress and the men going to her suite? The characters are wonderful, caring and loving. This series is a must read. I received this book for my honest review. I give it voluntarily.
Book eight in the Beach House hotel series takes us back to visit our friends Ann and Rhonda. They are both still very involved in their hotel but think about having more time with their husbands, kids and grandkids. Neither of them get much chance to do that in this book because there are several intertwined situations that keep them busy.
They have received a request from Hilda Hassel, a member of the Bavarian royal family for a two week stay at their hotel. Along with the request for the best room, Hilda wants to have high tea delivered to her room every afternoon. Ann is uneasy about it but Rhonda convinces her that it will be good for their reputation to be able to say that they had royalty stay at the hotel. Once Hilda arrives, they both get nervous. She has a younger 'nephew' with her and some strange things begin to happen at the hotel. Can they get this problem solved before their reputation as a high class hotel is ruined?
Along with this major problem to contend with, they are busy organizing weddings, Christmas functions and their New Years Eve party while they try to carve out time for their families.
If you haven't read this series, I think you need to go back to book 1 and get to know Ann and Rhonda from the beginning. This has been a fantastic series so far and it looks like book 9 will be the last book in the series. As always, readers can depend on Judith Keim to give them a book about strong women meeting and overcoming challenges. This book has a bit of a mystery, a little romance and a lot of love and family.
High Tea at the Beach House Hotel is the eighth book in The Beach House Hotel series and our appetite was whet for more when there was an excerpt at the back of the book for the next book. Judith Keim does it again in this heartwarming story with some anger and angst which continues the series nicely.
Rhonda and Ann are busy welcoming everyone to their wonderful hotel in a beautiful location even when they have their doubts - or at least Ann does! We are reunited with characters we've met before along with new ones. We get to see Rhonda and Ann with their families as well as their hotel family. There are multiple stories being told and they are tied together nicely. The story has a good flow even when different storylines are front and center.
There are some shady happenings at the hotel this time around and will it hurt their reputation in the end? Watching Ann and Rhonda once again in the thick of things created some chuckles but also fear that one of their guests could get hurt There is closure with their angst getting relieved as the problem is resolved. The addition of all the children was a nice touch and brought a smile to my face each and every time. I can't wait to return to sunny Florida and the Beach House Hotel!
I rated the book 4.5 stars but rounded to 5 stars here and on other sites.

The Beach House Hotel Series: Ms. Keim writes stories filled with friends, family, romance and community. Well written with good characters and interesting story lines make it easy to get immersed in all her books. Source: My Kindle library.
Breakfast at The Beach House Hotel, #1 - An wonderful start to a great new series. Friendships and romances come from unexpected sources. Rhonda is a trip, I love her. Ann can hold her own, too. There's a small amount of vulgar language and a bit of non-explicit sex, which I personally could have done without, but there's plenty of fun, discoveries, battles and love. 5*
Coffee at The Beach House Hotel, #7 - About eight years have passed since Breakfast ended. I missed a lot of happenings not reading the previous books but this was still an interesting story with a few new characters and a bit of drama. 4*
High Tea The Beach House Hotel, #8 - More of a lighter vein compared to Coffee but still interesting and entertaining. 5* Source: Booksprout. The Beach House Hotel Series.
Annie and Rhonda own the beach house hotel. There isn't really a story line to speak of here apart from towards the end there are thieves in the hotel but its about love, families, and friendships.
It is the 8th in the series but I think it can be read as a standalone although there are alot of characters mentioned that seem to assume you know who they are but they are explained so you are able to catchup. And the characters seem to have a backstory that I'm assuming happened in the previous books.
I do like the characters and I wish the hotel was not work of fiction as I'd stay there in a heartbeat. I do have to say sometimes I felt like it was just too nice at one point a couple didn't want sirens on the ambulance as they didn't want to wake up the boy they were babysitting. But it did make me feel good and it is nice to think that there are people like this in the world. Number 9 will be with us soon.
It sure was nice visiting the Beach House Hotel once again. Each time I go, it is so inviting, the food is amazing, everyone makes me feel like I am just part of the family, and there is always a little intrigue. Never been to a high tea before, and that was a lot of fun. Hilda Hassel, a member of the Bavarian royal family, was a guest here, and she was quite interesting in many ways. I had to chuckle at what happened to Brock, I still am. If you have read the other books, I hope you revisit the Beach house Hotel, and have a wonderful time like I did. If you haven't read the books, you could read this by itself, but knowing all that happened at the Beach House Hotel, gives it a different perspective. This review is different from my usual, because coming here, makes me feel, I am on vacation, and know everyone. I received an ARC from Judith Keim.
I just love these ladies, Rhonda and Ann. They are an inspiration to ladies everywhere. As you read this series, you will see what I mean. The Beach House Hotel is a special place with special memories for many folks. Ann and Rhonda’s families just continue to grow. No one can have too much good family, right. It was so touching when Stephanie and Randolph became “grandparents”. Don’t know who loved that more, them or Robbie. This is one more way you see the love of these folks. I have to admit I did enjoy Brocks little situation that he had to deal with. Maybe not as much as Rhonda and Ann, but still, I loved it. As the Beach House Hotel family grows, it just becomes better and better. I can’t wait to see where this story takes us next. I received an ARC of this book, but my opinion is my own.
I love the Beach House Hotel books, and this one is no exception. It almost feels like calling home to talk to a friend. If you haven’t read any of them yet, I would suggest that you read the very first one to get the introduction to the characters, and get to know them as they form their bond. Reading a new Beach House Hotel book is like checking in with your family or friends, with some sort of complication at the hotel central to the story. With this book, that ‘complication’ didn’t crop up until about half way through, but catching up with the characters in the meantime was nice - and I especially loved the new development with a set of grandparents for Robbie.
So, pick this one up and check in with Ann and Rhonda, and see how Brock is complicating their lives this time!
I received a copy of this book from NetGalley; all opinions are my own.
The next book in The Beach House Hotel series continues the story of Ann & Rhonda - 2 women of a certain age who are determined to run a high-end, but reasonable resort.
Hilda Hassel, a Bavarian royal, has requested the Presidential Suite for 2 weeks in January. While Ann is apprehensive, Rhonda is all in for this reservation. Hilda has a request - High Tea daily. Ann & Rhonda do not currently offer this service, but thinks it could be something they should offer. They start the service in December and have small teas so they can practice on friends and family.
Once Hilda arrives, then things start getting interesting and Ann realizes, she should listen to her gut more.
I love this series!!!!! Looking forward to the next one later this year.
I read the first installment of this series and somehow, probably during my time off Facebook due to illness I missed out on a bunch of them. Now we are at book 8 and it was wonderful to catch up with many of the characters I was introduced to in the previous book. I will have to get copies of the other books in order to really catch up on all the characters but leave it to Rhonda and Ann to get involved in another mystery and have to work to figure everything out. Love all the weddings and entertaining that goes on and that is one of the reasons that I would love to go back to Florida and stay for a couple of months at the hotel. Wish so much that it was a real place, could really use the rest and relaxation. Thank you Judith for taking us on a great book trip.
I received a free copy of this book and am voluntarily leaving a review.
Weddings, holidays, and high tea filled this eighth book in the series. It was such fun to see how Rhonda and Annie's families had grown, including their hotel family.Annie's anxiety over the visit of a royal after the holiday added just the right amount of suspense to the story. I was intrigued to learn ore about this royal visitor and if Annie's bad feelings were on the mark. Interestingly it looks like Brock, who has been a thorn in Annie and Rhonda's side might have finally gotten his comeuppance in book eight. This book made me want to stay at The Beach Hotel and drink mimoses on the beach. I think Annie and Rhonda would make great friends since they were great book friends. I will say I was surprised at the language in this book that has not been part of the other books. I received an advance copy of this book and I willingly chose to write an honest review.
High tea is not a fancy tea, as many people assume. Delectable scones, tea sandwiches, and cakes are the hallmark of an afternoon tea, which is served in midafternoon. A high tea, however, includes much more substantive fare, such as meat, fish, and egg dishes, as well as breads and desserts, and is offered in the early evening. Think of it as a light supper served with tea.
So every time I saw the term high tea used inappropriately, which was often, I wondered why the author didn’t do a little more research as it seemed to be a pretty big mistake for an upscale hotel to make.
This is the first book I have read in the series so perhaps I would have enjoyed it more and followed the many characters better if I had known their backstories. I did not think the characters were well developed or, for the most part, very interesting.
The Beach House Hotel series are the first books I have read by author Judith Keim. They certainly won't be the last, I have enjoyed each one almost better than the one before! It all starts with Breakfast at the Beach House Hotel, I finish one and am anxious to go onto the next they are that good!! In High Tea at the Beach House Hotel, Ann & Rhonda, the owners, booked a reservation for a member of Bavarian Royalty. Ann had a really bad feeling about it but Rhonda thought it might bring in more guests from Europe. What they don't know might in fact ruin the reputation of the Beach House Hotel. As with all the books in this series you will find a bit of mystery, intrigue, family situations, comedy and love. Judith Keim is an excellent story teller and will keep you intrigued from one book to the next. Enjoy!!!
Rhoda and Ann shine as hostesses for their Beach House Hotel as well as creating a sanctuary for their husbands, children and grandchildren. I loved catching up with so many characters in this book both personal and work related. While Judith Keim always is detail oriented to describe the surroundings she is at the top of her game with this venture into what occurs during the high season of hotel management. Their venture into attracting European royalty to their hotel is challenged but it does result in a smart marketing tool by introducing a weekly high tea. Delight in the humor of Rhoda, a touch of romance, and the love for family. I received an Advance Reader Copy from the author; the review is my honest opinion.
We’re back at The Beach House Hotel for another enjoyable visit with Ann, Rhonda and their families and employees. This time we’re staying for Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Year’s and part of the winter high season.
It’s so nice seeing everyone celebrating the holidays and some beautiful weddings. Ann and Rhonda have added an afternoon high tea to their offerings, spurred on by a new guest heading their way. The mystery begins when the guest arrives, you’re going to have to read it to see what she brings with her.
Thanks to the author and publisher for the opportunity to read and review this book, but my opinions are my own.
As usual I got into the middle of the series. I did not know that this was book 8 but I feel that it could still be read as a stand alone. What a wonderful story! I was drawn in from the beginning until end. I did not want to let go of this wonderful hotel and it's community. I laughed and cried throughout this novel and I also had fun with it. The cover is certainly gorgeous and the story goes well with it in my opinion. I finished this sweet novel in one evening because it was so very good. I'm giving this novel 5 stars. I highly recommend. My thanks for a copy of this book. I was NOT required to write a positive review. All opinions expressed are mine
It was so nice to visit with our old friends at the Beach House Hotel. Bobbie has grown up and found someone to ground him. Ann and Vaughn are as happy as ever. We got a little intrigue with this story that brought in the FBI and got our annoying friend Brock his comeuppance a little. I love that Robbie now has grandparents that fit in perfectly with this group. Liz and the T's - how cute they are becoming. A lovely story that makes me want to go back and start at the beginning.
I received a free copy of this book and am voluntarily leaving a review.
I really enjoyed visiting Ann and Rhonda at The Beach House Hotel again. As always, they do everything they can to make sure their customers have as great visit.
Something was occurring at the hotel that concerned Ann and Rhonda. They were worried that it might give The Beach House Hotel a bad name.
What could have them so concerned? Would they be able to take care of the situation before the hotel's reputation was damaged? These questions are answered in the book. Very good read.
I received a free ARC, and this is my honest opinion.
I really like this series. Rhonda and Ann own the Beach House Hotel. They have had many adventures and difficulties, but they are very successful in making the hotel a place that even those in the public eye can expect privacy. When they get a request from a "royal" to have high tea daily they are a bit skeptical. Hilda is a member of the Bavarian Royal family, but things don't look quite right. When Hilda arrives with her "nephew" Ann and Rhonda realize that they need to do something to stop Hilda and protect the reputation of the hotel.
