This is an excellent book about single breed (British Breeds) yarns including patterns. I am currently working (knitting) on a beret from this book. The pattern is good for a beginner working with lace. The patterns are written out, not on a graph. Also, the patterns and wool produced by many of the breeds in this book are not necessarily next to skin which gives you a broader perspective of how to use wool that comes your way!
I am looking for breeds to include in my own small herd in U.S. based on the characteristics of their wool and use for knitting. I'm not sure this book helped with that research since its UK, but I purchased the book for the patterns.
The breed and fleece details are SPECTACULAR. I would love even more information rather than patterns, and some of the photos of dark swatches are a bit too dark to see.
