An incredible detailed history of the 29th Infantry Division during the Autumn of '44. Joseph Balkoski must eat and sleep his history. The incredible amount of detail related in his 29th Infantry Division trilogy is really beyond compare. If only each of our Divisional units had such a historian on staff. Not only is he a historian par excellence, he can also write in a way the avid military buff can easily understand. His writing is not dry, but it is full of details. Highly recommended!
