Caroline needed a home and a job -- but her rich cousin Grace had made it very plain that she needn't turn to her for help.

So when Grace's over-whelming friend Randall Craig offered Caroline a job instead, it seemed a little unreasonable for Grace to object. After all, what kind of competition was Caroline likely to offer to the stunningly beautiful Grace?

Again, 2.5 stars for Henrietta Reid. She comes very close to writing things I would entirely approve of, but there just seems to be something missing.

Such a disappointing book! Was unorganized and all over the place the main characters lacked believability!

FMC is a head-in-the-clouds doormouse who is completely inept at real life and real people, and not in an adorably dim Chrissy Snow kind of way, either -- she's frustratingly stupid, useless, and occasionally defiant. Luckily, her pretty face is enough for the irascible, alpha MMC. There was no chemistry between them and no romance whatsoever.

The h constantly ends up in minor pickles and the H doesn’t do anything to indicate he wants to marry her. Just sort of ok.
