A modern Cinderella tale. Cindi wants a perfect match—of designer shoes. When her stepmother gets tickets to the Jiminy Shoes trunk sale, it looks like her dreams are coming true. Until her stepmother won't bring her. With a little luck, Cindi gets to the sale and finds the shoes of her dreams, and a handsome man, too. But when she dashes off with one of the shoes, her life changes forever
I'm a former TV news anchor who know writes fiction for a living. I publish collections of sweet, sassy romantic short stories called Flirts! Bell Bridge books is publishing my Willowdale Romance Series. No Foolin' debuts November 25, 2012.
Hmm....Okay, Cindy and Henry were cute, but I didn't like the premise of this story. The whole thing felt ridiculous. Surely, there was something else, more creative, and endearing that they could have done with shoes! Even the charity angle thrown in towards the end felt blah.
Seriously, I would have read it even if it wasn't named Cindi. I am a fan of this author and I have read quite a few of her shorts (really! They are on my shelves... a couple are even in my faves). I had no clue that one of the stories in Fairy Tale Flirts! was named Cindi. I also didn't realize until after the fact that I have the entire anthology on my Kindle and I will read the rest of the stories as soon as I am done with this review.
This is a modern-day Cinderella story. There are the evil step-mother and step-sisters. There is the prince charming. There is Cindi, the modern Cinderella. And there are shoes... very nice and expensive shoes.
What a cute short story! This was so refreshing after the last book that I read (that definitely was NOT refreshing). Lisa Scott is so good with the short stories and I always know that when I finish one, I will have a smile on my face.
(Something I have already joked with the author about on Facebook... My Cindi actually came from two older sisters who were convinced that "baby sister" should be named Cinderella. Thankfully my parents didn't do that to me. Also, Cindi in this story has blonde hair and green eyes like I do. I got a big kick out of that)
Cindi is a modern day Cinderella story, but instead of being told that she couldn't go to the ball is isn't allowed to go to a shoe trunk sale. Her step mother is really mean, she receives enough tickets for herself, her daughters and for Cindi but she gives Cindi's ticket to the neighbour who later on gives Cindi the ticket so that she can go to the sale.
The shoe trunk sale and Cindi has already seen the shoe's that she wants and she didn't need to keep searching the whole sale. These shoes are for display only but Cindi must try them on, so Cindi takes the diamond shoes off the display rail and she try's them on.
While Cindi is trying on the shoe's the owner tells her how expensive they are. He is surprised that the shoes fit Cindi as it is uncommon for someone to have size five feet.
The next minute Cindi spots her step-mother coming her way and without realising that one of the precious shoes is in her bag Cindi runs away as not to get caught by her step-mother.
When the hunky owner realises that one of the shoes is missing he set's out to find Cindi and the shoe and once found, Cindi's life changes forever.
This is a good short story if you are looking for something quick to read.
Cindi is very disappointed when her step mum gets tickets to go to the Jiminey Shoes trunk sale. There a spare ticket but instead of giving it to Cindi she gives it to the neighbour as a bribe. The neighbour gives the ticket to Cindi who can not believe her luck.
The first stall she comes to she falls in love with a pair of dimond shoes, but unbeknown to her these are shoes that are display only ever to be worn. But the handsome stall owner informs her how special and expensive the shoes are and him also surprised that her feet fitted into a size 5 which s very uncommon. When spotting her step mother at the stall Cindi hurries away not realising that one of the shoes was in her bag.
The hunt is on to find the other shoe, when finding Cindi her life begins to change.
This story is a short read, if you want a book for quick reads I would recommend any of Lisa Scott novels.
Molto molto carino. Avete presente Cenerentola?
Cindi - Story 1 from Fairy Tale Flirts! By Lisa Scott Cindi Midas life was much different when her parents were alive. She went from having a doting father to being stuck with a hateful stepmother and stepsisters. Cleaning their apartment at Grimm Towers for room and board. She needed a life change. And that changed the day she went to the Jiminy Shoe trunk sale and met Henry Hubbard.
I enjoy the way the author weaves her characters together in these stories. A character from one story will be mentioned in passing in a different one or be at the same place. All interwoven slightly into the stories in some small way. http://justjudysjumbles.blogspot.com/...
A cute short spin off of the classic tale of Cinderella , All Cindi wanted was to attend the shoe opening for Jimmy Choo , but due to complications , and when she sees her step mother and step sisters accusing her of thievery all the girl can do is ran for her life , abut after leaving the other pair the marketing director is on the hunt to look for the girl that fits the shoe.
A great short- story filled with romance , adventure and fun, a gret short story take on of the classic fairy tale
Another great writing by Lisa Scott! I really loved how the start of this story turned out and how the romance was in this book. It is such a cute read and I totally love all the fairy tale puns that are brought throughout this book! It made me want to go shoe shopping in hopes of finding a tall and handsome man!
I didn't like Cindi. I know this is a 36 page romance, but her character was supposed to be so deep and caring, and she only cared about shoes. Henry was in love with her because of her uniqueness (she had a size 5 shoe) and that was it.
