When Will Power brings his day-long, Come Into Power seminar to my city, I spring on the opportunity to absorb his billionaire tips to grow my shaky business.
I feel like I’ve won the lottery when he picks me from the crowd to do on-stage coaching. Until he humiliates me. In front of a thousand people.
So when a coveted ticket for his elite Power Broker Program accidentally drops into my lap, do I return it? Darn right, I do! Right into the hand of my brand new executive coach.
When Mr. All Powerful learns the truth, instead of tossing me out like an invasive weed, he makes me an offer I can’t refuse: I can stay in the program if I work my charms on all the plants at Will Power & Bros., his family's empire.
The one thorn? He insists I deliver my plant pep talks while he watches.
He’s arrogant. He’s entitled. He’s as gorgeous as a fiddle-leaf fig tree in bloom—and just as difficult to keep happy.
Still, it’s going to take every ounce of my willpower to keep from falling roots over sunflower for this grumpy billionaire.
**** If a heroine who’s superpower is talking to plants and a hero who’s approach to conversation is barking motivational quotes sounds like your kind of couple, you’ll love meeting Virginia Beach and Will Power in this steamy, grumpy-sunshine, opposites attract, workplace billionaire rom-com.
He’s as gorgeous as a fiddle-leaf fig tree in bloom—and just as difficult to keep happy. Still, it’s going to take every ounce of my willpower to keep from falling roots over sunflower for this grumpy billionaire.

Danika Bloom writes small-town (and small city) rom-coms where love gets wonderfully weird and family is whoever shows up with snacks during your breakdown. She's obsessed with the bizarre little rituals couples develop—because honestly, isn't declaring your feelings through origami made from grocery receipts more romantic than basic flower delivery?
When she's not writing stories about found families and the beautifully strange ways people connect, she's probably taste-testing a new baked good recipe her retired husband has made to lure her from her office.
This book was delightful is a million ways. Virginia Beach is a Botanist and she has her own business of taking care of people’s plants. She’s good at it, but certainly not flush with cash. She dreams big and looks to Will’s motivational speaker session to guide her way.
Will is a motivational speaker and he is, well, such a curmudgeon, but I understand why. He’s feeling like he’s on a hamster wheel and is isolated. Enter Virginia. They have a bumpy start, hurdles to overcome but they get their HEA. Virginia is just what Will needs.
I loved this book. I’m excited for what’s next by this new to me author! I must say, I’m a lot like Virginia with my plants so I identified with her so much!
The Billionaire’s Shrubbery! What a completely unexpected and fun read! This is my first Danika Bloom read, and definitely will not be my last.
While I knew some of the tropes of this book, I prefer to go into books blindly. I’m really glad I did. This story follows Virginia and Will. I loved Virginia so much, I loved her quirky personality, her love for people, plants and colorful clothing. I loved the relationship she has with her sister Georgia,
With Will, I do love a grumpy Billionaire, that becomes a little possessive and ultra loving towards his love interest. Having 3 brothers was a huge plus, there’s something about brother camaraderie that makes me happy and captures my attention.
This story is dual POV, 1st person, present. Which is my favorite way to read. The main characters are in their late 30’s, early 40’s, and I relate immensely to that, being 40 myself. It’s a workplace romance, a grumpy/sunshine and I highly recommend reading it!
How can a billionaire who lives in a highrise condo and a plant whisperer who is struggling with her sister in a basement apartment be a match. Virginia loves plants and living with nature and wants everyone to have a work life balance. Will Power is born into a life he has to lead, following on from his father, grandfather and great grandfather all of whom were named William and all of whom died in their early forties. Will is jealous he's the oldest twin so Colt gets to live a less protective lifestyle and lives quite a normally life all be it still working for Power Bros Inc. Thrown when he meets Virginia at a Seminar hes giving when she's brought on stage, he humilates her from her dress sense to her view on plants. Can these two people actually make what seems totally impossible actually work and find a hea. We get to know the Power brothers and also see how sometimes having billions of $'s isn't as freeing as we think. I totally bought into this story and couldn't put it down. I loved the twist and turns and the differences that comes with these two. I'm actually hoping we get to read Colt/Horse's story and maybe even Aiden and Brian's. I was lucky enough to recieve this book as an ARC copy and this is my own honest opinion and review.

Good beginning of a new series by Danika Bloom. Virginia is a botanist and plant caregiver who come across some very old and well tended bonsai trees in a box on the street, the containers alone will pay her back rent. Will Powers is a billionaire motivational speaker that Virginia pays to go to one of his seminars. He embarrasses her in front of the audience by saying she needs to change the way she presents herself and then shows her by having her wear his suit jacket which is miles too big. He tells her she can keep it, she finds a golden ticket in it and takes advantage of the free lessons it provides. Will is Not happy when he finds out she is getting free lessons, but is also drawn to her. *Adult language and situations.

Not gonna lie - I decided to read this purely due to the title.
Was it a throwback to Monty Python? Is the shrubbery being interviewed? I had to know!
The title may have been what lured me in, but the witty banter and steamy scenes kept me invested. Virginia Beach (yes, the name is explained) is a plant whisperer who's ready to hit the big time. She enrolls in a business coaching seminar run by Will Powers (yes, this name is also explained) to set her business up for success.
When he calls her up on stage, she expects tough love. She does NOT expect him to humiliate her in front of thousands of people.
Armed with a healthy grudge and his suit coat (I LOVE how Will gave it to her), Virginia is set on proving him wrong. She's gifted the chance when she finds a golden ticket in a hidden pocket. This is literally her ticket to success, and she's not about to squander it.
The duel POV really helped get inside Will's head. He's put in a terrible position with his job and family and suffers from a unique disorder. The reader wouldn't have been able to feel the stress and anxiety as well without reading his thoughts.
Enemies to lovers. Small town romance-adjacent. Grumpy/sunshine. Bosshole. Twin swap. Billionaire boss. This book has ALL the tropes AND heart. Will wears his heart on his sleeve, and he doesn't hesitate to embrace nature when Virginia decides to explore her kinky side. His level of dedication makes the swoony and steamy steamy that much more intense!
I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own.
Hands down ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ no way this deserves anything less! What a great read! It's easily read in one sitting. I really liked the storyline and all the characters in the book. I see my plants differently now. I probably need to talk to them 😉. It's one of my favorite books she's written so far. It was funny, romantic, witty, charming, steamy and heartfelt. I'll be counting down the days until the next book. I can't wait to read about the other brothers 😁.

Thanks to Danika Bloom and Netgalley for an ARC of this book. It’s the first time I’ve read a book by this author, but it won’t be the last. I absolutely loved it. It’s lighthearted and funny, but it’s also touching and thought-provoking.
The first time Virginia Beach meets Will Power (awesome names), things do not go well. He humiliates her in front of thousands of people at one of his business coaching seminars. But Virginia is optimistic and persistent, so when she finds a “golden ticket” to personal coaching with his company, she decides to take a chance. She has a degree in botany and wants to grow (pun intended) her business caring for other peoples’ plants. She’s hopeful she won’t run into Will Powers but hopes if she does, he won’t realize she doesn’t belong there.
However, Will has been thinking about her since their meeting, regretful for what he did as he realizes he did it because she made him feel some things he didn’t want to feel. When he sees her, he seizes the opportunity to seize her and get some answers. And he strikes a deal that she will care for the plants in the entire office for a period of time to pay off the cost of the coaching he claims she fraudulently obtained. She’s happy to do this as she can instantly see his plants are in dire need of help. They become friends and the friendship builds into something else. Their interactions are wonderful as Virginia breathes new life into Will and helps him to connect with nature.
Some of the things that made me laugh include when Virginia enters the greenhouse of a new rich client and observes, “It looks more like a plant palliative care unit with a side of morgue than a greenhouse.” As Will fights his growing attraction to Virginia, she tries to explain to him how to care for his plants and he thinks, “Is she seriously using words like bone and moist while asking me to poke my finger in her container?” Meanwhile, Virginia is lusting after Will and thinks, “If eyes could have sex, I’m certain mine are dry-humping his long, thick lashes.”
As Will and Virginia become closer, they share their sad childhood stories of what made them what they are today. After she tells him about hers, he wants to tell her his but warns her she’ll want to walk away after she hears it. She responds, “Ooh, I love a game of who’s got the scariest back story.” When she meets Will’s mother, he explains that her staff live with her and “magically appear when she snaps her fingers.” Virginia seems to believe him so he laughs and says, “No. That would be rude, even for Mom. She rings a bell.”
Will and his three brothers (one of whom is his twin) share a close relationship and they love teasing their mother. This interaction made me laugh: “Bri-an!” Mother scolds. “Mo-ther!” We brothers respond as one, just as we have for over thirty years. We are a Borg—pick on one, answer to four. As the discussion continues… “Bri—” Mother only says half his name. Her eyes dart to each of us. “Mo—” Despite the pause, our hive mind allows us to answer in perfect time and tone.
There were so many moments like this. The banter between the various characters was perfect, like when Will sees Virginia in her Georgia O’Keefe-inspired dress and calls it her vulva dress. And this exchange with his brother, Aiden was priceless. Will reaches for a box of condoms and finds this note inside: “These expired two months ago. I’ll take my chances. You’re welcome. A.” In response, Will calls Aiden: “I don’t care what time it is. If you don’t have a condom—no, a box of condoms at my door within three minutes, you won’t be able to use one for at least a month.” The soul-deep conversations between Will and Virginia were emotional and thought-provoking, demonstrating a degree of bonding not always seen in romances. All of this drew me in and made me want to spend more time with these people. I absolutely loved my time in the Powers’ world. I recommend everyone visit.
I received this book yesterday as an ARC in exchange for a review. I thoroughly enjoyed it, as evidenced by the complete read today (my laundry suffered!) Even with the past histories that affected their current lives, I liked the developing relationship of the main characters. The supporting cast added flavor & I think we can see other books about them being a possibility, which I would like to see. When I read romances I like a bit of angst but want the players to hang in there to show me how they resolve their problems so they can be together. Of course, it's always helpful if someone has money to ease the way! All in all a really nice read.
Will Power is the man. Not just the man, he's THE man in the Come into Power business event, where he provides his wisdom to budding entrepreneurs and uses his sales pitch to get new clients in his one-on-one mentorship program. Virginia Beach is a budding entrepreneur and used her hard earned money to attend. Everything seems to go wrong from Virginia when she's called up on stage to review her business. She's thrilled… until Will Powers humiliates her, in front of thousands. Her one takeaway was Will's suit coat in his effort to dress her 'more professional'. Virginia finds a golden ticket to enter the mentorship program to help build her business up. And, obviously, she comes face-to-face with Will himself. Fearing she'll get kicked out of the program, Will provides Virginia a way to expande by getting the contract for his building. In this act, they end up spending more time together, but can a no one with no money ever fit into the world of a billionaire… and would they ever want to?
Oh I ended up loving Will and Virginia. Virginia is the breathe of fresh air that Will needed in his life. And the changes they both make to better their loves are beautiful. I received a copy of this book and am voluntarily providing my review.
I'm so glad I got to get a sneak peek at this upcoming release, The Billionaire's Shrubbery by Danika Bloom. I really enjoyed Bloom's new rom-com. It opens strong with some delightful plant puns and a playful tone. As the novel continues, we meet relatable characters and experience some unexpected twists. Even the secondary characters are memorable in this rom com. I found the main characters, particularly Virginia, to be a breath of fresh air. I loved her quirky and vibrant personality, and that she was a confident woman who knew her own mind. Having read Bloom's other series, I loved catching up with some familiar citizens from Lilly Valley. I highly recommend The Billionaire's Shrubbery. It's an excellent choice for a summer read. It'll definitely grow on you.
I loved following Will and Virginia’s journey. I really disliked Will at the beginning and was so happy to be there for his journey into a man I’d love to love. Thank you Virginia for being someone I wish I could be so I could live vicariously through you. Well thought out characters, wonderful plot and a scene that had me crying (I’m over-sensitive I think). Ms. Bloom, you are my hero for providing me with a book that with characters I love, a plot I adore, and a premise I wasn’t expecting to love.
I’ve received this book in exchange for an honest review. Opinions are my own because that’s what I do. I hope everyone who reads this book loves it as much as I did.
I love reading a book that delves into life outside my experience - for example, I know nothing about being a plant whisperer or a motivational speaker but got lots of details in this novel. This book gave me that kind of lived-in realism while also telling a delightful, low-stakes love story. Bonus, I laughed aloud when I realized what specifically the title refers to. This was my first Danika Bloom book but not my last. (ARC review.)
I love this book. It’s quirky, laugh out loud funny, steamy and pulls at your heartstrings. What else can you ask? Enjoy! I was kindly offered the opportunity to read an ARC of this book in return for an honest review. It was my pleasure to do so.
Danika Bloom’s newest book, The Billionaire’s Shrubbery, is my favourite so far. Laugh-out-loud funny with engaging characters and delightful settings. I liked Virginia so much, I wish she were a real person so she could be my friend. There are multiple layers of wisdom in The Billionaire’s Shrubbery that you only get from a smart author like Danika Bloom. I was sad when the book ended because I wanted to hang out with these people some more.
Since I have read and liked a few from this author before, when I saw the free ARC offering on Booksirens, I happily grabbed this one and started flipping pages!
The premise of this one is easy to connect with, and I loved Virginia's career vision and sense of self. Will's situation (and his attitude toward it) made me sad for him. I found these two engaging and I really liked their chemistry and steamy scenes… she is soo good for him!! The characters are easy to like and relate to, and I found myself wanting the next Power brother book!
I recommend this read and this author. I voluntarily leave my review.
I really enjoyed this billionaire and blue collar book. It had the right amount of rom-com. Ms. Bloom knows how to make her audience wonder how the main issue will be resolved.
This gem of a book works really well - it's an opposites-attract, dual POV romance with a gorgeous, feisty, (maybe) plus size heroine who loves flowers and plants and has a super smart head on her shoulders. And there's a gorgeous grumpy alpha hero who is captivated by her.
It’s funny, swoony, a l'il bit steamy and so much fun. But It’s also a satirical commentary on the self-help business coaching universe - how hollow this is, and who actually profits from it. It reflects on the urbanisation of American life and how extreme wealth can trap even the most intelligent and organised billionaire. It's subtle too - I love that eleven espressos a day guy with a sleep disorder. Loved the homage to Edward in Pretty Woman walking on the grass. Loved the sushi restaurant scene (Will Power - billionaire toddler tantrum? Surely not?). I absolutely loved Will Power's character arc as he worked out how to re-do his life - and get the girl.
And it's all really silly too. With ostentatious mansions, middle aged twin swapping, vulva patterned frocks, over-reaching bodyguards, it's all here. The best fun I've had in ages, The Billionaire's Shrubbery is very very clever and I loved it. Thoroughly recommended!
Thank you so much to NetGalley and Danika Bloom for the ARC!
I wanted a quick and fun read, and this came up at just the right time! Characters that make you root for them, band of brothers that make you curious about their stories, a feel-good story overall.
Thank you to the publisher and author for the ARC via Netgalley. All opinions are my own.
The Billionaire's Shrubbery is a grumpy/sunshine contemporary romance novel featuring Virginia Beach and Will Power.
Virginia is a "wisteria whisperer to the wealthy witches and wolves of West Vancouver", aka a plant whisperer. She is happiest when her hands are in soil and she is connected to nature; she has a gift. Virginia owns a small company called The Other Side Of The Fence but she's looking to scale her business to, at the very least, be able to afford her own place. When the funds to enroll in Will Power's Come Into Power seminar serendipitously fall into her hands, she jumps at the opportunity.
Will Power, is the king of business coaching. He is the face of the Power empire, a multi-billion dollar company which was started several generations prior, and keeps growing. Virginia is determined to be called up on stage during his motivational speaking seminar to benefit directly from his wisdom and experience. Unfortunately, when she is called up, he is absolutely horrible to her. He humiliates her and makes fun of what she is wearing even going so far as to covers up her dress with his suit jacket.
When Virginia gets home, her sister Georgia discovers a hidden pocket with a golden ticket. That ticket is worth $20,000 and provides access to the Power executive coaching program. With some convincing, she decides to take advantage of the ticket and enroll in the program. She hopes that with all the people Will sees at the hundreds of seminars he leads, he won't remember her. But he does because he could not stop thinking about her and hoped their paths might cross again. He doesn't understand how she got into the program and confronts her.
This was my first Danika Bloom book, but definitely not my last. I enjoyed it immensely. The author makes use of alliteration, which I profoundly enjoy, many plant puns, and has many humorous sections. The many names by which Will refers to Virginia were quirky and adorable. For example:
Virginia "Plant Crusader" Beach Virginia "Blowing Everything But Me" Beach Virginia "Full Of Surprises" Beach
and more!
This was definitely a slow-burn romance, but when the spark finally ignited, it was an inferno. It wasn't as spicy as it could have been, but it definitely leaves a bite.
Will and Virginia couldn't be more different. Will has money, Virginia has none. Will lives a life of privilege, Virginia fights for everything she wants. Will lives in a concrete condo high in the sky, Virginia lives with her sister is a tiny home. Will breathes recycled air and hasn't put his feet on the ground in forever, Virginia lives for nature and isn't happy unless she has soil under her fingernails. Will's life is monochromatic, Virginia's is a cornucopia of colour. And yet, these two have amazing chemistry together.
All four Power brothers (Will, Colt, Brian and Aidan) were in this book. I'm hoping that Bloom has plans to expand to a series with a book for each of the billionaire brothers.
This was a surprisingly quick and fun read. Virginia is a plant whisperer with a quirky personality but still relatable with her fears and goals. Will is a typical workaholic billionaire but also has a soft side that makes him endearing.
Things that I loved... The MCs are older. Virginia is 38, and Will is 41, and they both are very clear on what they want for their life... or what they have come to expect and accept. Expectations are challenged when these two opposites fall in love.
The brother's camaraderie. They were so fun together and I wanted more from them. Hopefully, there are more books with the Power brothers.
The random Monty Python and Star Trek references. Major brownie points 🙌🏽
A look into how the "grind" mentality can be toxic and unhealthy. With Will being a parasomniac and not being able to sleep, you can see throughout the book how the lifestyle he led only exasperated his condition. I loved how Virginia helped him get back in touch with nature and slow down a bit.
Things I didn't love... The love declaration was anticlimactic. It was sort of assumed and then confirmed. But I'm a sucker for that great love declaration or revelation. So that was a disappointment for me.
Overall, this was a fun read that had minimal conflict. I would recommend this book for fans of workplace romance and opposites attract. Also, even though there was spice, it wasn't explicitly descriptive and, at times, would fade to black. So that's why it's a low rating for me.
I received an advance review copy for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily
"The Billionaire's Shrubbery" by Danika Bloom is about the love story of Virginia and Will. While their love story is interesting, many people can relate to the fear of death. Will struggles with this due to family members passing away in their early 40s. When he meets Virginia at one of his talks to help entrepreneurs gain confidence within themselves and their businesses, he talks to Virginia and basically publicly shames her. He ends up giving his blazer jacket to her. Inside that jacket is a business card that holds her future. Virginia is a plant-loving gardener for the rich, bringing the plants back to life. When Will and Virginia collide again, we see their chemistry.
I truly enjoyed this book. It was a fun read. Virginia as a character was interesting. Her love for the world and the people in it was so happy. She was straightforward and ready to do anything to improve her business. Her fears are very understandable but she still fights for the future she wants. Will is a grumpy billionaire that basically has never lived a normal person's everyday life. His fears are understandable but he lets them hold him back. I loved him as a character, while he's so privileged it physically hurts. But we learn that he is truly a lost man. Virginia helps him become the man he has always wanted to be. It's truly beautiful.
The only thing I wish was that we had more information about Virginia's sister and family. I really wanted to see that explored. Besides that it's a good spicy read, and with a good HEA!!
Our FMC - Virginia Beach - knew her own mind. She did not allow corporate cultural to pollute her vision for HER company.
This was a fresh hippie take on billionaire romance - where our billionaire is a famous motivational speaker, and our heroine is a literal “down to earth” small business owner.
Virginia cares deeply - about her clients, their plants, Mother Earth, and Will. His lifestyle is killing him, and something she desperately wants to help detoxify.
I also loved the Power family. The brothers banter was a big win! Plus *spoiler* adult twin swap goodness!
Things I didn’t love:
The hippie quirkiness lost me at times. I love the plug for holistic lifestyles, but it was a little distracting at times.
I totally didn’t catch Virginia’s business name until well past the 75% mark. *Spoiler* Her company name is The Other Side of the Fence.
The 3rd act drama/suspense was not my favorite, and the resolution didn’t bring it back into the light for me.
The spice was all over the place - sometimes fade to black, sometimes on page, and the angst/longing/obsession didn’t always capture my attention.
I also want to know what the heck happened to Virginia’s dad… loose threads kill me.
In summary: Definitely worth reading if you want a fun twist on billionaire romance. I’m beyond grateful to have been approved for this ARC in exchange for an honest review. I will be picking up more of Danika’s books in the future!
I absolutely adored this book. I found Will and Virginia’s love story to be absolutely endearing and I couldn’t be more smitten to have followed them on their journey. The billionaire’s shrubbery has one of my all time favorite tropes… GRUMPY x SUNSHINE.
The main characters in this book were a complete chefs kiss. Virginia is the full embodiment of sunshine, from her plant whispering abilities to her vibrant clothing, you can’t help but love everything about her. Will, the perfect representation of a grumpy billionaire workaholic who suffers from horrible night terrors and firmly believes he will die young… until he spends 4 minutes with Virginia “Blowing everything but me” Beach. Grumpy x sunshine tropes are my favorite and this story shows why in the best way. I am a sucker for a character who hardened heart softens with love. 🥹💖
This book is an opposites attract rom com filled with workplace romance and told with dual POVs. It’s fun and lighthearted. Not to mention… it’s an incredibly quick read. I think I read the whole book in about 4 hours.
I recommend this one for my romance besties but even more so for my grumpy x sunshine lovers 💖 you’ll adore Will and Virginia.
Thank you so very much to @authordanikabloom for reaching out with an ARC of this book. I appreciate the opportunity to read and review your hard work! 💖
Danika Bloom has written a 5-star book. This is the story of Virginia and Will. Virginia has her own business taking care of clients house plants. On her way to a clients house she sees some free bonsi trees and goes to talk to the owner of the house. She is told about the trees and then shows her the rest of his late wifes plants. He asked what she did and she told him. He asked her if she would be able to save the plants in the house. When she said she could her gives her 2,000.00 dollars. This is the amount that she needs to take a seminar. Things do not go well for her when she gets to the seminar. Will is the one who is giving the seminar and he huilmaites her up on stage. He makes fun of her dress and gives her his jacket to cover it up. When she gets home, she tells her sister, Georgia about what happened. Georgia offers to make her a dress from the jacket. This is when they find a gold ticket in the inside pocket of the jacket. Virginia knows what the ticket is for. Georgia tells her to call about the ticket. When she calls, she is given an appointment for Mr. Liu. When she meets Mr. Liu, they come up with a plan for her business. She has two weeks to do what Mr. Lui suggest her to do. After the two weeks, she has a video call with Will. Will has not been able to forget the way he treated Virginia and has wanted to apologize to her for the way he treated her. After her is over, she is still with Mr. Lui when Will comes into his office. Will wants to talk to Virginia in his office and the discuss how she got the gold ticket. She tells him and he is not happy about it. She is not happy about the way his plants look. He comes up with a way for her to pay for the ticket he thinks she stole. As they spend more tome together, the closer they become. Things happen and they get together as a couple. Things are going fine until he said something to her that makes her think that she is not good enough for him. She walks away from him and he knows that he messed up with her. Will has been thinking that he wants to retire from what he is doing and gets help from his brothers. Things are going the way he wants until Virginia finds out he is on the island with her friends. Will has been making plans for them to be together on the island. Can Virginia and Will work things out so they can be together? This is a wonderful book and I would recommend it to anyone.
I received a free copy of this book and am voluntarily leaving a review.
In addition to what I suspect is meant to be a ridiculously corny title, this is a romcom of epic proportions! The snark, the sass, the banter, the cliché motivational sayings, and the plant-related puns all add up to a delightfully fresh story that still has me smiling. This is not simply a grumpy/sunshine romance, but a fatalistic, doom-and-gloom hero and a free-love, earth-mother heroine who had me laughing out loud on the first page and kept me reading late into the night to finish their story.
Will Power IV is a motivational speaker who has a legacy of three Will Powers before him. He's the face of the very successful family business and travels the world over giving seminars that help entrepreneurs realize their dreams. He brings one female entrepreneur up on stage at the end of each seminar, and this time it's Virginia Beach, plant whisperer. Instead of encouraging her, he criticizes the leafy print of her dress, covers her up with his suit jacket, and sends her on her way.
Virginia is not only a trained botanist, but she adores plants. She's made a business out of caring for the affluent folks’ plants and used her most recent paycheck from a kind, wealthy widower to become empowered through a Come Into Power seminar. After her public humiliation, she finds a gold business card in the pocket of Will's suit jacket that gets her private coaching from his firm. Instead of him kicking her to the curb when he finds out, Will puts Virginia to work caring for the plants at Will Power & Bros.
Opposites falling for each other is a lot of fun, but these two are freaking brilliant together. So much push and pull and witty repartee that I couldn’t get enough! Add in the other Power brothers and the nods to Monty Python, and I absolutely had to read this in one sitting. Although this is a new author to me, I’ll definitely be reading more because I can’t wait for the next brother's book. I’m not nearly ready to be done with this fictional world, and I have no doubt you'll love this romance as much as I do!
Virginia Beach is a botanist and self labeled plant whisperer. When she gets the opportunity to attend an inspirational seminar for entrepreneurs, she expects great things especially after being brought onstage. But when the great Will Power humiliates her, she has no trouble using the "golden ticket" she finds by accident to get some free expert business coaching. When the man himself discovers her, she expects to be kicked to the curb, not offered a contract to care for the entire high rise worth of plants. The more time she spends with Will, the more she realizes not only his office plants need her tender care and healing. These two were such opposites: Virginia with her quirky personality and connection to nature and Will, stressed, grumpy, and afraid to leave his tower. I loved seeing his transformation throughout the book. The dynamic between the Power brothers was fun to read and I'm hoping they'll possibly get their own stories.
Virginia Beach runs her own business to taking care of the house plants of the top 1%. Will Power is a motivational speaker and professional coach. The first disastrous encounter is at one of his seminars, where he humiliates her. But then she finds a free ticket to her Power broker session and take advantage of the opportunity.
This books was an unexpected joy to read. This is an opposites attract romance with Virginia and her authenticity and earth goddess vibes, and Will, working hard as the face of a powerful company. I did feel like there were points in the plot or character flaws that could have been explored more fully to enhance the character development. There were also jumps in time a space that were either not called out or glossed over that caused me to stop and have to reread a little bit But overall a good read.
Virginia Beach is a plant-whispering, ball of quirky sunshine set out to help the local wealthy residents in keeping their plant babies thriving. She's out to make a living doing what she loves and she'll do whatever it takes to keep her business afloat.
Enter Will Power, billionaire face of Will Power & Bros who leads seminars on how to grow your business and be successful. While others may be charmed by his on stage personality, Virginia's admiration quickly wilts when he pulls her up on stage only to humiliate her.
The Billionaire's Shrubbery was a delightful combination of billionaire romance and grumpy vs sunshine. Virginia is such a lovable main character who truly is quirky and out there while remaining so incredibly kind and loving. Her grace in handling the humiliation she faced was astounding and had me rooting for her to get her revenge! Her positive outlook on life and situations that aren't so positive was a breath of fresh air without being overkill. Will truly is a cinnamon roll hero here. His rough and tough exterior is based purely on the belief of putting on the face everyone else expects him to. His belief of following in his dad's footsteps and dying from the workload had me wanting to snuggle the poor man right alongside Virginia.
Their chemistry was off the charts and I loved how it's not the typical man saves woman storyline but instead woman saves man. Will may have the life of luxury but Virginia shows him what a life of happiness looks like. Through the struggles of trying to fit into each others' worlds, both are learning that they might just have more control over their lives than they've grown to believe.
Danika Bloom has written a charming romance filled with laugh-out-loud moments, steamy chemistry, and all the feel good moments of falling in love.
A great start to a new series in which 4 brothers are followed in their encounter with love. This story revolves around Will Power and Virginia Beach. Will is a billionaire who travels the world as a business coach to enthuse people to grow their start-up business and help them achieve their business goals. Virginia is such a starting businesswoman and has deposited a lot of money to attend the event. The meeting between Will and Virginia is extremely embarrassing when she is allowed to go on stage. He humiliates her, makes insulting remarks about her dress and appearance. She decides to leave and never think of him again. However, the coat he draped over her clothing contains a gold card. And with that she goes to Power and brothers' headquarters because a gold card means personal guidance for a year. And even though Will isn't her personal coach, he is interested in how she got into his program. Their conversations become more and more personal and their relationship becomes more......
I found Virginia to have such a positive mood and attitude. You could just feel that energy coming through the pages! She knows from her own experience that money doesn't buy happiness. Will has always had too much money and lives by it until he realizes that this lifestyle is sickening. His life with Virginia opens his eyes to more through less. Great character and life lessons are brought to him by Danika Bloom. Beautiful story with a HEA.

The Billionaire's Shrubbery is well written smart and funny story and it got my five stars from the first chapter. And I love Danika Bloom writing style, fresh sense of humour and the witty banter between the characters. And I already met the Power Brothers in The Billionaire's Brouhaha and was very curious what Will Power will get himself into . Because in that story he already was the character that we meet in The Billionaire's Shrubbery. So the first meeting between Will Power and Virginia Beach was not so cute but memorable for each of them. Virginia needs an inspiration and some tips on leveling up her botanical business. When she attends one of his seminars it doesn't end well when he humiliates her in front of the audience. The thing is he doesn't feel good about it either but when he gets his second chance with her things got interesting. And yes , the mighty Will Power apologies. The interaction between them is smart, witty and funny. They both grow as characters and bring out the best in each other. They have great instant connection and the chemistry between them is of the charts. So prepare yourself self for some scorching hot moments between them . Will finds his way how to change not only his life but to adapt and change their program . Virginia finds her way around not only in her business plans. They both make changes in their lives and business plans so they can find their happily ever after together. And now I'm curious which Power Brother is next because the twins swap pun that they pulled on everybody but Virginia is a good indication that they have some tricks up their sleeves.
