------------------

In this modern version of the fairy tale classic, Peter finds his Wendy while looking for a rare book on “shadow” in the library. After hearing Wendy’s tale of woe, he invites her and her two little brothers, Michael and John, to come live at his house in south Florida—a place he calls Neverland. But although a large cross-dressing blonde named Tink, who lives with Peter and his band, The Lost Boys, isn’t too happy about Wendy’s arrival, it’s Peter’s nemesis, James Hook, who proves to be the new couple’s greatest challenge.

“Tink did this,” Peter said, pushing the gauze aside and sitting on the bed. He patted the place beside him but Wendy couldn’t stop looking around at the magic.

“She did it for you.” Wendy smiled, taking his offered hand and stepping closer.

“No, she did it for you,” he protested, slipping his arms around her waist, burying his face in her hair.

“And you did it for me.”

He looked at her, his gaze soft, loving. “Yes, I did.”

“Why?”

“Because I really, really like you, Wendy-girl.” He kissed the tip of her nose. “And I’ve never met someone so in need of a happy ending in my life.”

“With all the people living in this house, how can you say that?”

He chuckled. “You see, I’m the voice of experience.”

His kiss broke her heart into a million pieces and put it back together, whole and beating and thick with blood, in an instant. She had never known anything like this, had never known anyone like Peter.

“It really is beautiful,” she whispered as they parted, his hands in her hair.

“And so are you.”

She flushed. “Stop.”

“I’m just getting started.”

He kissed her, softly at first, and then deeper, his tongue finding hers, sending electric shocks along her skin. There was no doubt about what they were going to do, and Wendy found herself welcoming him completely. He touched her gently, but he wasn’t tentative. His motions were firm, sure—he knew just what he wanted as he pulled her onto the mattress, the gauze around the bed wrapping them in a hazy cocoon.

“Oh Wendy-girl, the truth is—I’m so in love with you,” he whispered, pushing her dress up to her hips, pressing his lips against her navel.

She thrilled at his words and returned them without question, without thought. “I love you, too.” It was impossible, but it was undeniable. “I want you. Please.”

He lifted his head, where he was leaving kisses all over her flat, trembling belly. “Do you?”

“Yes.” The word was breathless, full of longing.

Smiling mischievously, he cocked his head, eyes bright. “What if I decide to tease you for a while first?”

She whimpered as he traced his fingertips lightly over her skin, bringing her body alive with his touch. He explored her slowly and with relish, pulling the silk of her dress over her head and staring in wonder at her breasts as she stretched out on her back on the bed, her hands thrown over her head. She found herself giving in to whatever he wanted, letting him fondle and touch wherever he liked. He played her like an instrument, the notes rising higher, growing louder.

RIP Peter's personality, lost to lust and instalove.

Wouldn't you think that a girl who had run away from a (sexually?) abusive stepfather and lived in foster care with her two little brothers would have developed some kind of survival instinct? Apparently not, if Wendy is any indication. Why don't we all move in with total strangers on a whim? Let's all entrust random young men with the care of our siblings. We should definitely get onto a boat with someone we don't know in the early hours of the morning. Oh, and before I forget one of my bugbears with Kitt's books (and plenty of other erotica), why bother to use condoms? Seriously. How this girl is still alive, I really have no clue.

I find it rather surprising that someone who has been sexually abused and, as far as I can tell, received no therapy, would show no signs of it during sex. I'm also dubious about the healthiness of orgies in which the participants are former . I did like Tink, but she's been made into a bit of a pantomime character. I'm not sure how someone who is transgender might view Tink/Tink's treatment, particularly the heroine's often snide thoughts. I couldn't decide whether it was problematic or not.

The beginning of Wendy was actually a little quirky and promising. It's a pity that this was killed by an excessive focus on melodrama and sex.

Not at all I had what I expected. Wendy and Pan’s story felt a little rushed and forced. I did not felt a deep connection between the two.

Another short re-write of a fairytale. This time Peter Pan and I liked this one. I just wanted more! I didn't want it to be a novella and if it had to be short a short story then do one of those series with cliffhangers at the end so that I could find out more about Peter and Wendy. This one was not long enough for me to decide whether I liked Peter or Wendy but I did like the storyline.
Both of the characters came from pretty messed up backgrounds (OK , really bad). The only thing was, in such a short novella there is absolutely no opportunity to go into detail about any of that nor was there any, seemingly, issues as a result of these disturbed pasts.
The instant love was kooky but that seems to be a given in novellas. I would have liked for Pan to have known of Wendy somehow from his past before rescuing her BUT it is not my story, I just wanted more from this one... which is a good sign right? At least I wasn't wishing it WAS finished!
3, not enough, stars.

From this author, I've come to expect a very quick and erotic read. This book didn't deliver that for me. Yes, it was a quick read, but the erotic sex scenes just weren't there. I even took issue with the "fairy dust" situation. It really didn't read like one of her other erotic stories, almost like it was a half finished story. A disappointment, to be sure.

Incredibly talented musicians with a devastating past. They all find their happily ever after in each other; especially with the new additions to the family.
