Fall in line or get replaced. That's how my businesses operate. Being named the Dallas representative for the Mr. Black Organization was an honor, not a job. However, it’s not easy to change the way someone maneuvers. I was determined to make this year’s Juneteenth celebration unlike anything this city had seen before, starting with a road trip focused on Black culture. I had a plan, my purpose was clear, and my team was set. Until a wild-card photographer got thrown in the mix determined to push against my dictations. I wasn’t the type of man to bend and Solange Raven was quickly proving that she wasn’t the type of woman to give in. Nice guys finish last. Lucky for me, as a venture capitalist, that’s never been a title I carried.
In the Baes of Juneteenth multi-author series, we invite you to journey to different cities to celebrate Juneteenth with the men of Mr. Black, an organization honoring Black love, Black culture, and Black history.
Seeing beneath the surface to capture the raw beauty of the world has always intrigued me. Whether through film, poetry, imagination, or writing, I love experiencing and expressing my vision. My travels and love for the many different cultures I've encountered have only further instilled these creative outlooks and are the main reason why you are sure to be taken on an adventurous journey through my stories. Although every character is unique, it brings me pleasure to explore how different people throughout the world react to different adventures, and if they fall in love and into the sheets continuously on their journey, then I guess those romances were simply meant to be.
Guys, you all need to remember the name Titan Stone. Solange will undoubtedly remember his name and the smooth ride he took Solange on for the adventure of her life. Again, the Juneteenth references are spot on, especially since Galveston, TX, is the birthplace of this momentous occasion. The author did a fantastic job with her collaboration.
“We wouldn’t be on this earth forever. Yet, a photograph would last a lifetime.”
In the words of Malcolm X, “The media’s the most powerful entity on Earth. They have the power to make the innocent guilty and to make the guilty innocent, and that’s power. Because they control the minds of the masses.”
Thank you Kelsey Green for lifting the name Opal Lee as the mother of Juneteenth!! I like that each anthology begins with the same historical narrative of how the Mr. Black Organization began and survived to a point where the entire country of Black people are now taking notice! Titan and Solange are next up in the Black love portion of these anthologies! Titan showed in what he was doing with the Black business owners of Texas would in some way attone for how in the past he allowed his financial skills to help government in their home town disenfranchise upstanding Black citizens with good paying jobs just to shore up the city's bottom line! Although love stories are interspersed in these Juneteenth celebration stories, much history is also being revealed and shared! Thank you again for dropping this knowledge!!!!!!
I really enjoyed this book and this couple. Titan was a man who thought he knew everything it seemed and seemed to only see things in black and white from his own viewpoint until he met a Raven named Solange. I loved how she pushed back at him and made him see the color he was missing from life. I loved how there was focus on lesser known black owned businesses and the importance of Black equity. I’m really enjoying this series and can’t wait to start the next book.
Titan thought he was running the show until Solange showed up and snatched the mic. It’s giving alpha vs alpha, heavy tension, and chemistry that could melt steel.
Kelsey Green delivered a power struggle wrapped in heat and attitude and I was HERE FOR IT. He’s used to control. She’s not here to be managed. Somebody’s about to get undone and I know who I’m betting on.
Mr. Black-Dallas and his feisty photographer...🔥🔥🔥
Titan Stone met his match with Solange Raven. Their story was fire the minute he set eyes on her. You know how they say opposites attract? Well these two had it in spades! The the more the fought the stronger their passion and chemistry got. I loved everything about this book. Especially when Titan talked about his vision for the Juneteenth Celebration and bringing back and investing in black owned businesses along with opportunities to the build up black communities. I thoroughly enjoy a book that provides knowledge and history around a love story. It gives the book more flavor and holds me captive. This author did that for sure. Titan and Solange not only went on a journey to discover ways to help and elevate the community. They found themselves and a connection to each other in the process. But I have to say, that one part with the lamp in the dark. I lmao!! 😂😂😂 I know I would've said the same things DeShawn and Solange did. This book is a must read. Totally deserving of 5⭐. You will not be disappointed reading it.
Titan Stone, Mr. Black Dallas. Loved him and his vision of the future if the Black community dealing with generational wealth and equity. I liked Solange "SoSo" a lot and I was glad they were both able to really see each other and accept one another for all they were. The good and the bad. Solange and DeShawn were able to capture what Titan was looking to do beautifully.
Kelsey Green did a great job incorporating Galveston's history and the birth of Juneteenth in this story as well as bringing Ms. Opal Lee front and center.
The familiar connection of Solange and Alanna (from Mr. Straight Up No Chaser) was a nice touch and Rezi and DeShawn need their own story.
Highlighting Black Entrepreneurs While Falling in Love
Titan and Solange started out cautious of each while having to work together on the Juneteenth project. The more time they spent together brought out that chemistry. After some clarity on an incident that took place in the past, all was forgiving and Titan and Solange’s collaboration help spotlight black entrepreneurs, what Juneteenth means to the black community and sharing vital information for future generations. They also found love and each other in the midst of working together. This was a very good and insightful book.
Titan is used to being an Alpha in business as well as in his personal life. Solange comes along and changes all of that for him. I loved the way Titan and Solange saw each other which helped their relationship. I also loved the road trip to the Black businesses and the Juneteenth information included in the book. It was also enjoyable reading about Titan's plan to build up these businesses which showed he was taking his Mr. Black duties seriously. Great book by Ms. Green!!!
I liked the quotes at the beginning of each chapter. This is something that was also done in the three previous books in this series. In their own ways, both Titan and Solange were trying to control their surroundings and world. Hiding instead of fully imbracing life. Control can be a both a strength and a weakness. When it is used to keep people out and prevents you from exploring other view points, experiencing hurt, disappointment, or pain it can prevent you from really living. You might as well be in a cage.
At first I wasn’t sure I was going to like Titan. He appeared so cynical and anal. Then in walks Solange Raven, Alanna’s sister. She gave as good as she got. She was Titan’s match! She got him to loosen up while on their trip. They’ve always said that opposites attract, and boy did these two! I don’t remember reading anything by Kelsey Green before, but this won’t be my last time! I really enjoyed this story! I especially loved all of the references to Juneteenth!! ❤️🔥
To say Tyson is a hard ass is an understatement. However, as I've said before, the love of a good woman or man can change your mind. Being from Texas, I appreciate how Tyson thought to highlight all the black owned business and set them up for success. Cresting generational wealth is everything. We need to spend our money with our people, in our neighborhoods, and support our businesses. We need to create a new Black Wall Street. Very good read!!
Triston seemed to have met his match with Solange! He got more than just a photographer and that took him for a loop! As Dallas is my current hometown, it was nice to see the reference to Opal Lee, the grandmother of Juneteenth, and from Texas!
I enjoyed the story and the Black Culture! This series keeps getting better and better!! Kudos, Kelsey!! 💜
This was a love story about So large Raven and Titan Stone. Titan was Mr. Black for Texas and So large was a photographer !he hired for the Juneteenth celebration he was planning for his state. They were at odds when they first met because of prior information obtained on his background. However he proved on a road trip she was judging him which led to their happily ever after.
I may have to reread my favorite parts because I was distracted by Titan. Where can I get me a Titan Stone? This book was fun. I loved how Solange was perfect for him without him knowing it. I thought she may kill him on the road trip and get Deshawn to hide the body but she fell hard. Titan's cause reminded me of a friend of mine in highschool.
I loved this story. Just the banter between the Mr. Black characters is enough to read the series but Titan’s story was absolutely fantastic. He seemed to be the “stiff coat” but SoSo brought out the fun Titan. The story of Juneteenth and the black businesses in this one were amazing.
This was a cute enemies to lovers type vibe kind of story with a nice look in some Juneteenth adjacent/ black culture information I didn’t know I was looking for but definitely could appreciate. Titan & Solange’s journey to love was comical to watch. I hope to see more of DeShawn and Rezi!
Every part of this story was believe what you are not seeing. Both couples went into this not wanting to believe what they saw and that was the beauty inside of themselves. This story gave a small peak of history through the lens of a camera but captured everything needing to be told. Read it to understand.
Once i heard the book would take place in Texas I was excited 🤗. Now Titan and Solange were some firecrackers because neither one wanted to back down but in the end they put their egos aside and made a great team. My favorite part of this story would have to be Titan mission of visiting these small black owned businesses and bringing more equity to them.
This story was everything 🙌🏽❤I'm so loving this series powerful messages ❤and powerful couple they were a match in heaven ❤simply amazing 👏🏾one of my favorite yesssss loved it ❤
It took a photography to heal a broken man while bringing his vision of Juneteenth to life. Thank you Kelsey I new Juneteenth started in Texas, now I need to add Galveston to my bucket list of cities to visit.
Great read, I liked the characters and storyline. Titan was rigid and straightforward, while Solange was a bubbly, carefree creative. They were opposites, this is their journey to love.
Titan Stone was a strong man with little wiggle room for anything but what he thought he needed. Solange Raven was a free spirited photographer with a zeal for life. Read in this book how her dream ignited a newness to his life. Good read.
I really liked reading this story. I want to visit the places that they described. Kelsey had a real task to get Titan and Solange together. It was Juneteenth worthy. Very nice writing!!!
