A sweet love story between a patient looking for new glasses and the town's optometrist
Danica Lara hasn't been seeing clearly. Blinded by the lure of profit in a partnership with her best friend s ex, she's also battling changes in her vision, which prompts a visit to Dr. Grady Urban, the new optometrist in town. Yet the hunky doctor who looks deep into her eyes senses that she needs more than glasses.
Trying to make a name for himself in a small town, Grady offers more than just optometry expertise as he plays armchair psychiatrist to clients who need some quiet hand-holding. With Danica, Grady finds himself attracted not only to helping her but also to partnering with her in a public school charity outreach. But mixing business and pleasure results in blurred vision for them both.
Can Danica and Grady see clearly enough to make the right decision with their time and talents but still find love in the process?

Seeing Us de Audrey Wick
Argumento:
There’s a first time for everything, and I’m pretty sure this is my first time reading a romance where the hero is an eye doctor! I really liked Grady – he was sweet and swoony and just seemed like an all-around good guy. Watching him with adorable little Alexis (the child he’s mentoring in a community reading program) is just incredibly endearing and was responsible for most of my smiles in Seeing Us. For that matter, the DEAR scenes were the highlight of the book for me, even more than the blossoming romance between Grady & Danica – and y’all know that’s saying a lot!
Danica & Grady’s meet-cute is the stuff of sitcoms with a bit of laugh-out-loud slapstick comedy for good measure. Their subsequent encounters are warm and friendly, with an increasing awareness of one another and a gentle affection stirring between them. I enjoyed watching them fall in love, and while I’ve never found going to the eye doctor especially romantic Seeing Us is well on the way to changing my mind. As someone who is basically blind without glasses or my preferred contacts (but with night senses like a bat LOL), I identified with our earliest introductions to poor Danica and her fuzzy vision.
Bottom Line: Seeing Us by Audrey Wick is a fun, light, quick-read romance that made me smile. It’s swoony in all the right places and super sweet, too. You will – ahem – fall for Dr. Grady as hard as Danica does, and you may also develop a sudden craving for pecan pie. Some of the prose got a bit flowery to me, and I would have liked for a couple of scenes to be more layered and developed further, but none of that kept me from enjoying this read. A great choice for your next pool day or weekend relaxing!

I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Reader Copy from . This does not affect my opinion of the book or the content of my review.Seeing Us by Audrey Wick gives us a cute book about two people falling in love. Will Danica and Grady get together? Danica Lara Danica Lara grew up in the small town of Seguin, Texas, and hasn't ever thought of leaving her home. She has her friends here, and her job is here as well. Danica is trying to bring people to their small town hence the subdivision she is helping her friend's ex-husband with. It is just giving her headaches, though. She is a little Spanish, and I like many things about Danica. The first thing that comes to my mind is that she has good intentions regarding the housing complexes. She feels that helping that guy will be worth it for the town. Another thing is that she embraces change, like getting herself glasses for the first time, and how she thinks of it as a badge to wear instead of to hide. I would say I could be friends with Danica.
Dr. Grady Urban Dr. Grady Urban is an optometrist who wants to call Seguin his new home after finishing everything he needs to open up his practice. Grady has some great intentions in place but has some bad ways of following through with them. I'm glad he changed that throughout the book, especially after meeting Danica and getting to know her. Grady wants to succeed in all the ways that he can think of, and he is a great person. He helps kids at the school with their reading through the same program Danica is a part of and is just trying to get his business out there. I love his drive to get his company to succeed while unknowingly falling for Dianca more and more.
I love these two together and that they make a great couple. Five Stars Seeing Us by Audrey Wick is a sweet romance that shows that love can happen during any season, at any age, and even in hot Texas weather. Ms. Wick has done another amazing job of making me fall in love with the story of Danica and Grady. I have to say that Texas is a big state, and I have seen some pecan trees here. Sadly none during the fall season, but we shall see if I do this year. Speaking of pecans, there is a recipe in the back for Pecan Pie, so don't forget to check it out when you read this book.
I am giving Seeing Us by Audrey Wick five stars and a recommendation to all sweet romance readers.
Thank you for dropping by! I hope you enjoyed this review of Seeing Us by Audrey Wick.
Enjoy a light-hearted, sweet romance with Audrey Wick's latest novel.
Danica Lara only expects an eye exam when she visits the office of optometrist Grady Urban, but when she hits her head, she ends up seeing stars. Another visit to the doctor's office has her seeing possibilities with the new doctor in town.
Danica and Grady bond over community service by reading to elementary students. As a teacher who loves to read, I especially liked the reading focus and may have picked up an idea or two to inspire students.
The romance is light and builds slowly like a Woman's Fiction novel. The setting is fun and will have you craving pecan pie.
This gentle, sweet romance features a new optometrist in town and a woman who needs glasses after three decades without any. For Danica, this is an unsettling event. It becomes even more so when she hits her head in Dr. Urban's office. She is not badly hurt, but she finds her emotions are affected by the handsome doctor, who Danica's best friend labels Dr. McHottie.
When Danica and Dr. Urban discover they are both volunteers helping students at a literacy initiative, their friendship deepens as they put their all into getting the pupils in their care to read. There's such tenderness and hope this delightful story. I really enjoyed it.
