My War
On August 12, 2021, 2-504 PIR, 1st Brigade Combat Team 82nd Airborne Division received the call. We would be deploying to Kabul, Afghanistan. We would have 2 weeks to evacuate as many people as we could while Afghanistan was falling on top of us.
This story recounts my experience as a United States Marine Corps Infantry Rifleman during my first deployment to Afghanistan in 2011 to me serving as an All-Source Intelligence Analyst in the United States Army during the Kabul Evacuation.
