Really good high school romance. Sayo is short and self-conscious about it. It doesn’t help that all his friends tease him about it. One day, he witnesses his crush to confess to the tallest boy in their class, Mashiba, only for him to rudely reject her. Seizing the opportunity, Sayo confesses to her in turn, only for her to reject him because he’s too short. It’s clearly Mashiba’s fault for being so tall.

Sayo starts a one-sided competition with Mashiba to beat him in anything, but Mashiba is the best in everything, while Sayo isn’t. But as the ‘feud’ goes on, Sayo begins to have dreams of Mashiba. Soon, he realises that they’re not dreams. For some reason, Sayo transports into Mashiba’s stuffed toy every night. He discovers that Mashiba is fantasising about someone, pretty physically, using the stuffed toy as help. But it’s just a coincidence that Mashiba calls Sayo’s name in his private moments, right?

And then someone steals the stuffed toy. Ready to help, Sayo rushes to Mashiba, only to learn that the other boy is bullied at home. And now the bully has Sayo in his sights too. The volume ends there.

I really enjoyed this, all the gringe moments included. Sayo was funny, and the more I learned about Mashiba made me like him. I’ll definitely read more.

This was almost nothing like I'd anticipated, and I'm glad I took a chance on it. It was both cuter and funnier than I expected. I don't want to give away the creative twist here, and maybe it'll be a little too weird for some people, but I liked it. And I like these two. It's basically all fluff until the end when a new character, whose intentions may not be so pure, shows up. I hope this is able to remain as sweet as it is, so I'll be checking out more.

...how on earth is this a 9+ volume series?

It's a weird, weird premise. The summary sounded cute: height difference with jealousy mixed in, and a gradual realization that he's interested in the tall, aloof, attractive guy who gets attention from the girls he likes...

But instead, Sayo has some weird link with Mashiba's totoro-like plushie, so every time he falls asleep at night, he "dreams" about whatever's going on in Mashiba's room. Which includes seeing Mashiba studying, cuddling with his plushie, or telling it all his deepest secrets - including his feelings for Sayo.

Maybe I'd like it more if I liked the art, but it's not my favorite style, either. And the story just doesn't make sense, and so far there's no particular reason for the two of them to like each other.

Then we're adding in Mashiba's evil older brother, who steals his emotional support plushie and threatens Sayo to stay away from him so Mashiba can't succeed at anything else in life...

I don't know. Not something I liked even for one volume, so I can't imagine reading eight more of them.

“Please let this dream be a dream…“

This was an interesting volume with an oddly surprising premise but somehow I enjoyed myself. The story follows high schooler Sayo who’s insecure about his height but somehow dreams about his tall and handsome classmate, Mashiba hugging him. It’s strange because there isn’t any interaction that would justify the sudden onset of dreams that feels real, or any initial romantic feelings from Sayo.

However, as the dreams continue not only do they tire Sayo but his feelings begin to change. And this is why I started enjoying the story more. As Sayo’s frustration and curiosity grew, he started unraveling the mystery known as Mashiba. Mashiba is the typical cold and quiet main lead character, but there seems to be a fragility and hidden personality underneath it. We see a few of those moments when he’s able to laugh and smile freely with Sayo.

Both Sayo and Mashiba are good characters. Typically I find characters like Sayo, annoying because they are overly expressive; randomly compete or hate others; and their feelings change drastically; not that one has any control over the latter. However, I couldn’t find it in myself to dislike Sayo because he genuinely came across as an innocent boy who was expressive without meaning to be rude to others. I felt the same with Mashiba. He wasn’t cold and quiet on purpose but because of possible circumstances. Also, his coldness wasn’t rudeness, it was just interacting with others solely when needed.

I feel like this story has an interesting premise but it definitely needs more clarity. I liked how initially Mashiba didn’t force his feelings on Sayo or approach him forcefully. There were clear instances where Mashiba was jealous but he kept it in because it wasn’t his right to say anything. However later on, this changes when a bit of drama ensues and although Sayo agrees, it may have been under pressure from the circumstances. I’m on the fence about it but Sayo is okay with it, so that’s what I’m going with.

Overall, this was an enjoyable read and one I’m looking forward to continuing soon. The concept is strange but that’s what keeps me hooked, as well as Sayo’s constant expressions and reactions keep me entertained. Definitely a fun read if you’re willing to overlook the slightly odd premise.

So cute! As Mashiba would say lol. The art style was basic but clean and reminiscent of shojo style, which I felt fit the story and vibe. It was spicier than I was expecting (I wasn't expecting any at all but then I saw the M rating on the back 😅). Sayo's character is cute and I enjoy couple dynamics where one is cool and aloof and the other is a smol boy with big feelings. I had a good time reading this and look forward to more volumes!

this was... interesting. i already knew it involved some kind of body swap so i was intrigued by it, im glad it's a multi volume series so that concept doesn't need to be rushed. though i always thought this series was 100% sfw and i was wrong lol. don't mind it, just funny that i had a complete opposite perception of it. curious to see how the next volume develops

Cute art. The story is low key. We have a high school couple, first love type story. With a quiet, cool ml and a feisty, cute mc. There are 10 volumes in this series. Featuring two other couples. Not sure yet, how to feel knowing this lol 🤔

A hilarious and charming read that’s perfect for the holidays! Follow the vertically challenged Sayo and the shenanigans he gets up to after he starts… dreaming about his classmate? And why does he keep seeing a plushie? I won’t’t spoil it for you. All I’ll say is that it’s great!

Overall thoughts
This is a hilarious and charming read that I enjoyed from cover to cover! Even if high school romance isn’t your go-to, I’d absolutely recommend this as a cute read to cheer you up! It’s a comedy with adorable chemistry. Although it’s been hinting at something deeper. The characters have layers to them that I also enjoyed seeing! I have no qualms, this manga doesn’t miss a beat!

Who is this manga for
Fans of high school romance with a dose of comedy will likely enjoy this!

I would've liked a bit more story in the first volume. Though I already love the characters, art style, so I'll definitely be getting volume 2 to see where the story goes (*^-^*)

Fun

This is a good story, with easy-to-follow dialogue. The steamy scenes are blurred out. I like the characters and am anxious to see what happens next.
