Danielle is a romance author best known for steamy romances with a dash of tears and an overload of love and passion between her characters.
In 2011 her Debut novel For Always topped Amazon charts in the Young Adult category. Danielle graduated from Farleigh Dickinson University with honors, and currently lives in North Carolina with her husband, three children and their family dog.
The writing style did not grab me. I was unable to connect. The heroine is a psychic. The hero goes to see the heroine to him his fortune about his girlfriend.
Heart Waves by Danielle Sibarium was such an outstanding book I came to love so much. Right when I started I knew it would be one book I couldn’t possibly part with. It was so compelling until the very end.
Danielle Sibarium’s writing was familiar and refreshing all at once. Her previous book and Heart Waves are different in concept, but the simplistic writing I loved was still there. For me, Heart Waves was a lot more complex when it came to the plot. There was a lot of intrigue, mystery and secrets surrounding the characters that I wanted to uncover and find out. I loved how Danielle Sibarium added in a little flare of paranormal into this contemporary novel. She combined them both perfectly without either one overpowering the other in the story. Jenna’s ability was realistic and completely believable. It was something I could imagine easily. There is still a lot to learn about Jenna’s ability and I’m hoping to find out more in the next book.
Jenna was a simple character with a spunky personality. She’s a very likable character and I had no problem connecting with her at all. She’s level headed and strong and she certainly takes no crap from anyone. I absolutely loved that about her. Sometimes I saw myself in Jenna when she was guarded and cautious. Her weariness of trusting other people also reminded me of myself and the way she carried herself. What I loved most about Jenna was how real she felt. She seemed like someone I could be friends with, someone I could count on the way she was with her best friend Grace. What made Jenna real for me was her flaws. Like everyone, Jenna has fears, doubts and apprehensions especially towards Reece. At times I did get frustrated with Jenna with her constant worry, but I understood why she felt that way and still, I loved her.
I have such a strong feelings of love for Reece. I swear that boy is after my own heart. He’s alluring, flirtatious, sexy and mysterious. He’s slightly cocky and arrogant, but he has immense charm and charisma. He loves books and computers and he’s highly intelligent. Reece exuded plenty of confidence, but he showed shyness and vulnerability when it came to expressing his emotions. I really loved how he never gave up on Jenna and how he continued to gain her trust. I also loved the mystery behind Reece‘s past. Danielle Sibarium doesn’t reveal much, making him a more enticing and complex character. Even through Reece’s sweet side, I felt there was something dark about Reece. I have a feeling that he is hiding something and although this scares me a bit, I found that he made me even more attracted to him.
Jenna and Reece’s relationship developed more quickly than I was comfortable with. However, this did not take away my love for this book. Danielle Sibarium made them work because she allowed Jenna and Reece’s relationship to grow throughout the story despite them being together almost from the beginning. Jenna and Reece had such intense chemistry making them seem like they’ve been together far longer than they have. What I loved about this relationship was the imperfections and the obstacles they faced. Although Jenna and Reece loved each other they struggled with parental disapprovals, trust issues, jealousness, and secrets from their past. They had trouble opening up to one another, coupled with Jenna’s personal doubts and Reece’s unknown past, sometimes they hit a wall. When this happened, I literally felt this ache and fear in my heart for both of them. I love Jenna and Reece and every time they fought, the fear that Jenna felt became my own. Despite their arguments, Jenna and Reece had plenty of sweet moments that made me extremely giddy. I loved their witty banter. They’re very playful and comfortable with each other. I felt how much their love ran deep.
All in all, Danielle Sibarium continues to impress me with her excellent writing, her ability to create such amazing characters and the fact that she can seamlessly draw me into any story she creates. The romance she created between Jenna and Reece was so intoxicating she had me begging for me!

What I Liked:
I was pleasantly surprised when I finished this book and really liked it! Not that I was going into reading this book thinking that I would not like it, but I didn't expect to like it so much. I liked the characters in this story the most - Reece and Jenna are awesome. Reece is such a sweet guy, but he is also protective and secretive. I love the thoughtful side of him, but the other, "darker" side of him was an interesting twist.
Jenna is a great heroine. She is a combination of tough and passive, and I can understand and empathize with her at many points of the book. I thought her gift was kind of interesting, but I would have liked to see more of it in the book. It really did not play that big of a role in the book, other than drawing her and Reece together. But, I really like Jenna, and I find her a very relatable girl.
The plot will definitely keep readers interested. I thought I had it all figured out, but then something got in the way. Watch out for Tyler - he has a bigger role than we think in this book!
What I Did Not Like:
There was not much that I did not like - maybe a few things that I KNOW I am not supposed to like. For example, Reece and his secrets? Of course I do not like the fact that he is keeping secrets from Jenna. But, everyone has secrets, and I know that Reece does not feel obligated to share them.
I really, really wanted Jenna's gift to be a bigger part of this particular book. The only time we really get to see it in action is at the very beginning, which is how she met Reece. Okay, so you've used your gift once. It is a part of you - shouldn't you be thinking about it more? Or using it more? It is there, and yet it seem like it is not there. But it is!
I also did not like how short this book was. Book length can be a good thing and a not-so-good thing, but in this case, I think it went in favor of not-so-good. I felt like more could have been written in this book, like more scenes between Reece and Jenna before they get together as a couple, and more scenes between Reece and Jenna after they get together as a couple. This did not bother me too much, but I am really used to long books.
Would I Recommend It:
Yes indeed! I was captivated by the premise - the Romeo and Juliet reference - and definitely ha to know what was going to happen. This book has a very broad reading audience in my opinion - young teens will enjoy this book, but adults will as well.
Rating:
4 stars. I was very intrigued by the characters, Jenna's abilities, Reece's past, and, well, Tyler! This is definitely a book that will grab your interest.
I will start out saying this book is amazing!! It blew me away, It's been such a long time since I've read just a young adult romance book and I'm glad it was this one. Danielle Sibarium has a way of stealing your heart and making you fall in love with the characters.
It was a easy read. It starts out with Jenna at a house party with her thoughts. Shes mad at this guy named Steve and has finally got a chance for revenge, she intentionally ruins his relationship with a girl by what holds in his future. When shes all said and done a guy comes up and places his ring in her hand and this is where our journey begins. She gets upset about what she sees and how she is in his future. Only things will end sadly so she storms out. Only he's this amazing guy who likes to play the Hero and man oh man is he great with the smooth talking. I would have melted in his arms :)
Jenna knows from the beginning that her and Reece are doomed to end, so she figures she'll stop it before it begins. Only he wins her heart in the end. His thousand watt smile and carelessness draws Jenna in. Hes drawn to her in a way hes never felt before, girls always chase after him, he's never had to do the chasing and I loved seeing him struggle and be surprised by her. Jenna is a very relateable character. I can see some things in her that were like me as a teen. I think every girl who reads this will find a part of her that they can relate to. She's insecure at times and has some trouble trusting Reece at times.
When they are together its the cutest thing, hes very protective of her and can't stand to be apart for more than a moment, but the summer is coming to a end and shes still in high school while hes in college. The drama in this book is on high. Grace (Jenna's Best friend) is a great addition to this book. Grace adds a element of comfort for Jenna and advice in dire situations. As the past catches up with Reece will Jenna still trust him. Is his past to much for her, and will knowing the future make Jenna give up hope for a ultimate action to change the reaction of their future??
Throughout this story we learn more and more about Reece, he's Mister Mystery and holds some dark secrets. An ex-girlfriend, a family who never meets his girl friends, best friends with a guy she hates (Mike) who dates her best friend, breaking Jenna's heart somewhere in the future, and then the hatred for a guy named Tyler. The ending left me emotional. We didn't get all our answers and are left blank wondering what is going on. I was a bit upset with Reece and wanted him to trust in Jenna to tell her what's going on and know that she wont run this time. We are left with questions and now I want to know more...Is Grace and Mike okay and is Tyler good or bad??? Can Reece be trusted??
I give this book 5 out of 5 stars and recommend to anyone who is interested in a light easy read. The book flows and is easy to stay with the story. It's very charming and makes you hopeful that everything works out for the best. There's not to much of a paranormal feel to it, and for all those people who don't like paranormal books, this one you can find an exception for. I think it's also a great read for teens in high school and even adults. I personally cannot wait for the sequel to this book and think that this series would make a great movie for young girls :) All in all I loved it and read it in a day. I hope you all enjoy this book.
This book was great. Right from the beginning you are set up with knowing that there is going to be a heart aching situation. The whole book gears you toward this without making it obvious to what is going on.
Reece's love is pure and a bit magical. You love Jenna and Reece together. Even though they connect super quickly it still feels right. Jenna is way too much in her head but that is what makes Jenna - Jenna so sometimes you are frustrated because you just want them to be together so everything is a HEA but Nope not going to happen because the whole way through you know the other shoe is going to drop.
At the end you think that is the worst that is going to happen and can finally take a breath of relief well until.....you read the next book.
This book I felt was a good book about setting up foundations, relationships and the depth of Jenna's & Reece's love for the series.
Heart Waves doesn't waste any time getting right into the story and I like that about a book. It's books like this where I instantly fall in love with the romance and all the characters. Once I started this book, I totally fell in love with it and read it so quickly. It's full of amazing romance, awesome friends, secrets, and real life.
I heard about Danielle's book Heart Waves after reading For Always. I knew it was a must read and I was right! I picked up Heart Waves and was sucked in from the first page..I ended up bringing it around with me all day and finished no sooner than dinner time that day:) I highly recommend this book. Lastly, I want to say thanks to Danielle for writing this book and to keep creating fabulous books!
I loved this book from the very first page. Then why 4 stars instead of 5? because I felt like it started off as one story and then ended as another story. Things were thrown at me I didn't see coming. Or had anything to do with the first half of the book. Either way it still ended up being an amazing story. And I'm officially in love with Reece. I can't wait to read the next book and find out what's going on.
This book was received from the author in exchange for an honest review.
I received this book for a blog tour, and I loved it so much! It had a heroine unlike any I’ve ever read about, a completely sexy man, and a super unique story line.
Jenna can sense private things from a person when she touches the intimate objects of that person. When she predicts that a very cute guy at a party will break her heart, she is immediately intrigued by Reece Walton. They have an instant connection, and although she is wary of her prediction, she can’t seem to stay away from him. After futile attempts to keep him at arms length, she eventually caves and the two embark on a full-on summer romance. They spend all their time together and as time passes, fall in love completely and fully. But Jenna can’t shake the fact that this relationship will end badly, and can she fully trust Reece?
Jenna is a beyond headstrong heroine. She does not let anyone walk all over her in any capacity, and she is always cautious about trusting anyone she doesn’t know well. She holds grudges and really bites into people who are on her bad side. Frankly, sometimes, she can be an unpleasant person. But when she relaxes and learns to trust, she loves fully. At times, I felt she could be rash and not think things through, but faults always make someone human and even more enjoyable to read about. Jenna was definitely an interesting character, and I loved her and her inner dialogue!
Reece…where do I even start? This boy literally captivated my heart from the first time Jenna saw him. If I didn’t love Jenna and him together so much, I’d want him for myself! He is confident but not in a really annoying, overly cocky way. He is sweet without being mushy and gushy. He is very smart but he didn’t act pretentious at all. He knows how to say the best things at the perfect time. He wasn’t scared by Jenna’s craziness because he genuinely wanted to be with her. He was just so cute! :)
Grace, Jenna’s best friend, was a character I had to come around to. She was a classic girl who finally got the attention of the super hot guy and acted as such. But she eventually got better. Mike, Grace’s boyfriend, was funny and obnoxious, and Jenna really hated him. But I was pleasantly surprised by how he ended up. Both Jenna and Reece’s parents were a conundrum. Her parents took sometime warming up to Reece, but his put on a nice façade but really didn’t care what Reece wanted in life, which is one of my biggest pet peeves. I can’t figure out my thoughts on Reece’s ex-best friend, Tyler. I don’t know what his motives are at all.
I felt the plot was centered around Jenna and Reece’s romance development. It moved pretty quickly, but the love between the two was palpable. There were some hints about what is to come in Breaking Waves, and I think there will be some more action. The romance was so intense! I feel that is the best way to describe it. If these two aren’t soul mates, I don’t know who is. I want them to have their happy ever after so bad! Danielle’s writing is familiar and very easy to relate to. Jenna’s thoughts were all over the place, but very real.
I am so excited to already have Breaking Waves. The name makes me sad though. I don’t want their hearts to break! I’m going to start right now!
Favorite Swoon-worthy Quote: His lips were hot against mine. Softly, deftly, they traced a path across the length of my jaw, down my neck, waking nerve cells I never knew I had. His hands scorched the skin on my stomach just under my top. With every new sensation he helped me discover, a new surge of electricity coursed through my veins making me think I would spontaneously combust. I lost all restraint and reason.
I'm stuck between 4 and 5 stars. Maybe I should say 4.5? BLAH, I don't know. I shall let y'all know when I post my review. :)
Is it wrong that I sort of kind of liked Tyler...? Heh.
I repeat: Review to come!
~~~
The first thing that caught my eye about this book was the Romeo & Juliet reference. Say what you will, but I love that play. I do admit, a big part of my reason for this is that the class I read it in was AMAZING, but I also think there are parts and aspects of it that are beautiful. But anyway, I was excited to read a story kind of sort of like Romeo & Juliet.
Personally, now that I've read the book, I don't see how it parallels to Romeo & Juliet. BUT, I can tell you that if you stick around for book 2, Breaking Waves, you will most definitely start to see it. But I'm not reviewing that, so yeah.
Let's put the ROmeo & Juliet thing aside. This book is incredibly cute. It's a super cute summer love story with a dash of paranormal elements thrown in, and by that I mean, the main character is psychic. Other than that, not much paranormal, which I thought was really nice because it put more focus on her every day life. A lot of times in paranormal stories, the actual LIFE of the characters takes the backseat to all the special stuff going on. It was cool to see it the other way around for a change.
Character Rundown: Jenna: Oh, Jenna. I think I tolerated her very well. Needless to say, she is not my favorite protag ever. I just don't feel like she lived up to everything she was supposed to be. Especially the "Ice Queen" thing. I did not see that. But it's okay because I still loved the book and the way that Jenna was DID make for some really nice events that entertained me. So it all worked out. Doesn't mean I like Jenna, though.
Reece: Heeeey, Reece. I really, really, REALLY liked Reece. He was stubborn and caring, but also a believable character for the most part. There was a moment or two where I wished I could punch him in the face and I LOVE that. It made him feel real to me and not in an annoying way. And he always made his way back from those I-wanna-punch-you moments. I completely approve of this boy.
Plot. So, as I said, this book is mostly a summer romance. Then they DO start school, but that's only super close to the end, so I'm making an exception here. So most of this book is the usual relationship-building stuff--until the end, that is. Then...well, yeah. Stuff happens. STUFF, guys. Hahahahahaha, you'll see. I'm not going to spoil and tell you. That would be wrong. ;)
Sweet things! Say what you will about Reece, but he can have his sweetheart moments. I wouldn't say he's the sweetheart of this book (that would probably be his little brother, Aaron), but he most definitely made me smile more than once. He also makes Jenna seem okay to me, thus helping me to seriously like--if not love--this book.
The ending. I didn't see it coming. You probably won't either. And just remember--there is a book to come after this one.
Overall, Heart Waves was a cute, fun, romantic read with little dashes of paranormal here and there to spice things up a bit. Book 2 is definitely something I went right for after I finished this one--I wanted more Reece & Jenna!
I really hate giving this rating because Danielle is such a kind and lovely person but I just can't rate a book higher than what I really think just because the author's kind. I think all book bloggers have come across this problem and I don't think it gets easy. Still, thank you to Danielle for giving me an electronic review copy and a printed copy is actually on its way to me. I can't thank you enough. I do think I'm just not part of the target audience of this book but I believe a lot of people will actually enjoy this.
So here's my two cents on Heart Waves. Right from the get go, in Chapter 1, I knew I wouldn't enjoy this book because it's one of those instalove stories. Nothing gets on my nerves like instalove so to there. Still, I continued reading and actually finished a book because I finish all books I start reading, how much torture they might be for me.
Heart Waves was marketed as a paranormal romance but I would say it is purely a romance novel with a single paranormal factor. The main character, Jenna, has the ability to see visions just by touching objects. Sometimes it's of the past, sometimes it's of the future and sometimes it's not a vision but an aura. That's it. She only used this ability a few times in the book and the novel was just chapter after chapter of her love story with Reece. Yes, they make out or do something sweet every single chapter I was wondering when will the plot come out. And yes, the conflict did come out at the latter part or more like, at the end. I could have enjoyed the book a whole lot more even if the couple got together through instalove if the plot was solid. Sadly, this isn't the case as it was like a slice-of-life novel of their love story. I'm not saying that's bad because I actually like slice-of-life too but it shouldn't be making out every. single. chapter. Then suddenly, boom, there's a semblance of a conflict in the end.
Tyler, Reece's ex-bestfriend was introduced near the end and Reece started changing. His temper, his demeanor, the way he treats Jenna, changed. Being the first book of a trilogy, nothing was revealed and I expect these tidbits to be told in the sequel, Breaking Waves. But there was just too short of a time for the conflict to be absorbed. It felt like I was dumped with a conflict just to make me want to read the next book. Granted, I will read the next book or at least skim it just to see what's the deal with Reece and what's gonna happen. I gotta thank Tyler for that because I love book bad boys. Hahaha! Anyway, Reece's change was really drastic and not convincing for me, which makes me feel like the author wanted to chuck Reece out of the window for Tyler to enter and shine. That's not how you sway the reader to root for the other guy.
Anyway, enough with the bad. There are certainly good things about Heart Waves too. For one, it is not sloppily written and it's also sort of poetic, in that it's full of feelings. Moreover, while the characters are cardboard cut-outs and are not three-dimensional, they are tolerable. Jenna can be SO dense at times but the characters did not irk me in a major way so I'm totes fine with them. Lastly, it really isn't just my genre or my type of book. It's good but just not mah jam~
Still, I recommend this to readers who love Romeo and Juliet-type of stories.
I received this book from the author in exchange for an honest review.
This book is great! Danielle Sibarium is truly a talented writer! “Heart Waves” had me from the beginning and kept me sucked in the entire time. I absolutely loved that the author combined my favorite genres into one story: Contemporary Romance and Paranormal. It was Young Adult, which I love too! I give this book 5 STARS because it was just awesome in every way!
Jenna, the main character of “Heart Waves,” is the same as most other teenage girls her age…except that she has a gift. Jenna knows things other people don’t, and she can pick up personal information just by touching something, such as a piece of jewelry. While at a party, Jenna meets a boy named Reece and she instantly falls for him. They have an immediate connection and want to see where their chemistry will lead. However, there is one small problem…from the moment they met, Jenna learned of a prediction that Reece was going to break her heart. Jenna spends a lot of her relationship with Reece waiting for the other shoe to drop – waiting to see if Reece was really going to break her heart.
I loved the characters of Danielle Sibarium’s “Heart Waves” so much! Jenna and Reece were absolutely amazing, and I enjoyed everything about them. I was routing for their love and wanted to see them happy, but I was nervous throughout the entire story waiting to see if the prediction was going to come true. I think that “Heart Waves” is a story for many people. I would recommend it to young adult and adult readers, as well as Contemporary Romance and Paranormal fans. As a Paranormal fan, I enjoyed the Paranormal twist. But, for people that do not normally read Paranormal books…don’t worry! Of course, it is a part of the story but it isn’t the main focus. The Romance is more the main point. Therefore, Danielle Sibarium’s “Heart Waves” is a novel that will please readers from several different genres. This 5 STAR book by this talented author is a story that you will want to read! I also really enjoyed another novel by Ms. Sibarium, called “For Always” which was great. Go out and add Ms. Danielle Sibarium’s work to your ‘To Be Read’ list now if “Heart Waves” and “For Always” are not already on it. If they are on your list…then what are you waiting for?! I also look forward to reading the next installment in this series, “Breaking Waves.”
Heart Waves was such a great novel because it appeals to so many different readers. Whether you are a fan of romance, paranormal or contemporary novels you will find something for you in Heart Waves. Since I'm a huge fan of all of these genres, you can only imagine how much I adored this book. I've always been a fast reader but something just kicked in while I was reading Heart Waves and I couldn't stop. I had reached the last page and was dying for the sequel in just one day.
How can a fan of contemporary like a book with a paranormal twist? Well, the magic vibe was very hidden in the book. Yes in the first chapter Jenna makes a prediction about Reece and herself but the book doesn't revolve around Jenna's gift. Throughout the middle of the book it was Jenna dealing with life. Trying to realize if she should trust Reece, getting into a fight with her best friend, and everything a regular teenager goes through. At the end her gift comes up again and it sets itself up for a sequel, which you'll be itching for my the end. Yet, don't think this book isn't for you if you are not into paranormal. The contemporary feel that you know and love is there. Just as Danielle's first novel, For Always had.
The romance in Heart Waves was so cute. I loved Jenna and Reece, they were perfect together. I'm a huge sucker for a good romance in novels and this one had it. The characters were also very relatable. Jenna felt like every other teenager, I could relate to so many things that happened to her. That's something that doesn't happen very often in books with a paranormal twist.
Heart Waves is over-all a great novel that you will not want to pass up and if you haven't already you should pick up For Always while your at it. Danielle Sibarium's beautiful writing is something you don't want to miss.
This book was so great! I generally go for paranormal books, but I mixed things up a bit recently by trying out some YA contemporary books. So far I have read two and I have not been disappointed!
Heart Waves could technically be considered paranormal, because it does have a touch of it... But because its not a main focus in the book, I am not going to consider it from tha genre.
There are so many amazing characters in this book! Danielle Sibarium has done a fantastic job in creating all of them and really bringing them to life.
Jenna and Grace are your typical teenage girls, other then the fact that Jenna can pick things up from people's belongings... Kind of being psychic I guess.
Grace was slightly annoying because I have never really liked girls like her. Mike was awesome! (don't forget to check out my interview with Mike that I had so much fun doing!) Mike is a jock, a jerk, and so incredibly adorable! I loved him!
Then there is Reece, for some reason he bugged me... He always seemed to try too hard to be perfect for Jenna, and he has a major temper which is totally uncool. He also seems like he is hiding something and although it's never told to us what he is hiding, at the end of the book it is super obvious that is something pretty major.
The one thing I did Like about Reece though, is that he brought Tyler into the story... Not too much, only a few little bits but OMG I love him! He is a bad boy with a sob story history, and well duh he is super hot as well!
Overall it was a fantastic first book in the series, and I can not wait until the second comes out because I want to learn more about Tyler... Well and everyone else as well... Oh and I also really want to know what is going to happen between Jenna and Tyler they seemed to have some MAJOR chemistry right off the bat so that should definitely be interesting in the next book!
Jenna is a seventeen year old student who doesn't trust guys much due to some rumours and misunderstanding, which put her off dating. She is also called the "Ice Queen" because of her attitude towards the boys.
Reece is a nineteen year old who meets Jenna at her neighbour's party. Jenna has a gift, whereby she can hold objects belonging to other individuals and pick up on their energy. After giving what she thinks is the last of her readings, Reece approaches her and hands her his ring and asks for a reading. They take one look at each other and instantly there is an undeniable attraction between them, but what Jenna predicts is enough to make her want to run a mile.
Reece will not be deterred and pursues her relentlessly until she gives in and agrees to date him. Everything feels so right between them but every now and again, something will crop up to give Jenna cause for concerns. Even though they agree to be honest with each other and trust each other, Reece appears to have secrets he is not prepared to share with Jenna. Whatever it is, indicates that it involves his ex girlfriend Becca and his ex best friend Tyler, but nothing conclusive.
There is love and laughter as well as tears and doubts throughout this part of the story. It ends on a note which left me wanting for more and I am glad that I don't have to wait for long as the next part is already available. This is an easy to read, Young Adult Romance with a touch of the Paranormal and would appeal to those who hold an interest in this genre.
I was sent this book for an honest review and let me tell you it was AMAZING! Yes Amazing. I couldn't put it down. I actually read the whole series in 2 days. Yes all 3 books in 2 days. That should tell you how amazing this book and series is. But I'm here for this book. Gah I loved the characters first and formost. Reece was so prefect he fought for Jenna. He refused to let them not be together, even when things get rough and rocky he is there every step. Jenna was so strong willed and full of life. She never had a great relationship with guys due to many factors but mainly due to Mike. Heart Waves is so beautifully written. There's never a moment that you aren't hooked. There isn't that dull chapter or dull scene that some books have. I have to say this is by far one of my favorite books that I have reviewed. I loved how Danielle twisted in the paranormal side to things without over doing it. In many ways you won't even notice it is paranormal, and that is what is so awesome about it. Its never thrown in your face. I couldn't find one thing I hated about this book. Not one, which is rare. Of course I hated Reece there for a little bit toward the end when he is acts idiotic, but then I loved him again. I really enjoyed the little time we had with Tyler. He seems like he will make an interesting character. I can't wait to see more of him in the next 2. BUY THIS BOOK! YOU WILL LOVE IT!
This book took me back to the good ole days! Yes, I'm talking about high school. First loves, first kisses, first dates. This book brought it all back!
In Heart Waves, we're invited along to witness the ever growing romance between Reece and Jenna. A chance meeting brings the two together, an instant connection helps their feelings grow, and a story full of sweet moments and flirty fun makes their story one to remember.
That's not all to the story of course. This is way more than just a cute romance. There's gotta be a little spice to the equation to make this read worth reading. That spice is definitely there. No relationship is perfect, and this relationship had it's share of drama.
The book definitely picked up towards the end. A lot of stuff gets thrown at you all at once. The ever so mysterious Tyler. The hints of secrets left untold? Gotta love a good mystery! I sensed a bit of a cliff hanger at the end, and I can honestly say, I'm a bit happy about it. That means there might be more. This reader wouldn't mind a little more! I've got a few questions left and some answers I'm just dieing to find out!
A cute romance, a mysterious flare, a good book! Definitely worth 4 stars from me.
Danielle Sibarium has done it again. She has written a young adult novel that is spellbinding. We start with a premonition from our female lead, Jenna Kingsley has ‘feelings’ about the future from touching any object belonging to a person. She touches the ring of Reese Walton and knows that he will break her heart. As the relationship develops Sibarium successfully leads us on a roller coaster of emotions. Jenna’s past collides with Reese’s troubles and we are unable to put the book down. It hooks us. The end is both surprising and unsettling, leaving us hungry for the sequel.
This author has taken a popular forum, young adult romance, and transformed it. She has made it her own. With masterful skill she weaves her tale with believable dialog and action. This is the difference between technical skill and talent. This author has talent. While this is a popular genre, Sibarium adds her magic and it rises from the ordinary to the classic. She takes the genre and it becomes unique because she makes it her own. I look forward with great anticipation to the sequel and remain baited, hooked, and caught by this powerful talent.
Heart Waves is the first book in the Heart Waves series by Danielle Sibarium. To see premonitions like Jenna does would be a pretty awesome gift, but like her, it would scare me too. Especially when it comes to my heart and those I love. Even though she knows her heart will be broken, she can't help but fall for Reece. Let me tell you, he's pretty darn easy to fall for. He's charming. He's protective. He's funny. Yeah, he's pretty much got it all. Jenna and Reece act simply adorable together. The paranormal aspect is on the lighter to medium side, but it's there. So, whether you like paranormal romance or prefer a more contemporary romance, I think you'll really enjoy this one. I know I did. There's something more going on too, and I want to know what it is. I want to know who to trust. I wasn't ready for it to end just yet. I NEED more!
Heart Waves by Danielle Sibarium was provided to me by the author for review. The opinions are my own.
Heart Waves by Danielle Sibarium was a cute read that I enjoyed a lot. The story was easy to get caught up in and the characters overall were pretty great.
The plot was very easy to follow and was very fast paced. The story really captivated me. I loved everything up until the ending, which didn't seem quite complete to me. There was just a few plot threads I wish had been explored more indepthly, as I would have loved to see how those played out.
I wasn't the biggest fan of Jenna - she bugged me a bit at times, but I did love Grace. I wish she had been in Heart Waves a bit more, as she was a great character. Alex was quite the riot and I loved every scene he showed up in!
Heart Waves was a book I read in a day. It was really fast paced and was a cute story. It had a paranormal element, but definitely felt like a contemporary to me. Another great story from Danielle Sibarium.
Wow! I’ll start with that! I loved the characters. OMG could Reece BE any sweeter? I LOVE Reece! He’s HOT, SEXY and FUNNY. Oh yeah and SMART and totally PERFECT. I liked that Jenna was strong not a whiny what does he see in me? type of heroine. I thought her ability to know things just from touching them was AWESOME. It’s a different twist on the paranormal side but it didn’t overwhelm the story.
The characters were great and easy to connect with. Even the minor ones, I loved Reece’s brother Aaron, and his friend Tyler. Those two REALLY stuck out and hope we get to see a lot more of them in the next book.
Overall Heart Waves was a fast paced book that sucked me in from the start. I couldn’t put it down. And now I can’t stop thinking of Reece! I loved it and can’t wait for the sequel to come out!
Let me start out by saying this book is amazing! Danielle has a way with words that makes you lose yourself in the world she has created. This book had me captivated from the very beginning. I didn't want to put the book down. When I had to, I couldn't wait to get back to reading. For me that makes an amazing story.
The characters were so easy to connect with. They were down to earth, like someone you could bump into on the street. That always makes the story more believable. I am a sucker for romance, and this book lays it on thick! I can not wait for the second book to come out!
I can not say enough about this book with out giving away all the details. So take my advice and go pick this one up!
I think this would be a great book for young adults and those experiencing first love, like the main character of the story Jenna.I was hoping for more of the supernatural as Jenna has the gift of touching people and knowing a bit about them or the future. Maybe book two will have more of this. I didn't realize this was a series when I first got the book. Despite the cover, I didn't think this book would be more of a romance story than anything else, so for me it wasn't the type of book I usually read but for fans of romance, I think this book would be great, that's why it is getting four stars. If you like young love with a slight twist, this is definitely a book for you.
As a fan of Sibarium's other romance books, I was very excited to learn she had written something with a paranormal twist! The story immediately starts off with Jenna's vision of Reece breaking her heart. Despite the warning, she finds herself falling for him over the summer with his golden-brown eyes and undeniable charm. I found myself drifting effortlessly into their love story, anxious to see if they would work things out, or if Jenna's vision would come true. The book ends on an uneasy note, so you'll want to buy the sequel post haste!!
I never like giving a poor review and I hope that this doesn't come off that way but there comes a time for all of us when we come across a book that we just don't care for. It's not that Heart Waves was poorly written because it wasn't. Sibarium did a very good job writing this story. Unfortunately, Heart Waves just wasn't for me. I found it too teenie boppin for my taste. I enjoy most YA books, but I felt this book was geared more for the teenage genre. It is, after all, a teenage love story.
The story opens with the dilemma. Jenna's premonition scares her before she even begins a relationship with Reece. This bit of knowledge keeps the twists and turns of her feelings gripping. Just when I think the story will end one way, there is another twist in the end. Maybe two twists if you include Tyler. I rate the story at three stars because the story was well done and it kept turning pages (swiping pages really) all the way to the end. I really like how I didn't see the end coming ahead of time.
Loved the story. Jenna is a bit immature but that is to be expected Reece was sweet and totally into Jenna. Grace at first I didn't like since I was wondering what kind of friend goes out with her best friend's bully, but later we find out that really she's a good friend. The story is very good filled with plenty of romance, drama and teenage angst. I cannot wait for book 2 (Breaking Waves) as this book ended with a major cliff hanger.
I have a lot of mixed feelings for this book. Seriously, my emotions are everywhere. The romance was amazing, I was almost crying only a few pages in. Even though Reece and Jenna were "soul mates" they still have problems, it was so real! And Jenna's gift was awesome.
Danielle always writes amazing books!!! I can't wait for BREAKING WAVES!
The book was pushed as a paranormal romance. Sounded good. The only paranormal was she could see visions and that only happened two to three times. It mainly was girl meet guy both fall in love immediately. And then the books about their romance. Just as you're getting to the end an actual real plot happens and then it ends. So now I have to read the next book.
I loved this book. I saw some tweets about this series and went into it not knowing much. I am glad I did! This brings back all the first love stuff! I was drawn into Jenna's journey. I am absolutely invested in these characters.
