Remy dreams of becoming a gourmet chef in a fancy French restaurant. Emile is happy living in the sewer and eating garbage. These two rats are as different as night and day, but they agree on one thing—they're brothers and they'll stick together through thick and thin. This full-color storybook is based on Disney ¥ Pixar's exciting and hysterical feature film Ratatouille.
Katherine Emmons has been writing since she was a child. She began writing her own fantasy after reading everything available in her middle school library about three times, including titles from C.S. Lewis, Lloyd Alexander, J. R. R. Tolkien, and E. Nesbit. Her fantasy reading and writing was accompanied by much classroom daydreaming. Dreaming about castles inspired her to go live in Europe at age 16, where she attended a German high school and indeed visited many castles.
Back in the USA, Katherine finally learned how to be a good high school student (sit up front and pay attention!), and eventually earned a PhD in Education. Along with writing and other creative activities, she devotes many hours to her own students, who know her as Dr. Kate. She still loves to travel, and she has also lived in the Caribbean, Central America, and Africa.
Katherine loves the outdoors and nature, flora and fauna, mountains and beaches. She divides her days between homes in Southern California and South Africa, spending as much time as she can with her husband and two sons.
Shout out to Ray Ray and Teddy for helping me knock another book off my list. This certainly isn't a book I would have chosen on my own, but 5-year-old brothers like books about brothers, and this one was cute. It's just about Remy's brother and how he doesn't quite understand Remy's interest in cooking, especially cooking with humans, but he's still supportive. It's nice.
Ratatouille is one of my favorite movies. I love it. This book isn't a direct adaption, but instead it is Remi's brother's point of view of the situation.
