Crystal has been lusting over Mark DeSanto ever since his company set up offices in the building she works in. Crystal gets up close and personal when she comes down with the flu and passes out in Mark’s arms, which was hilarious! There were several awkward revelations after Crystal comes to, but the episode endears her to Mark and they start seeing each other.

Mark has no desire to have a steady relationship with a woman after witnessing the toxic marriage his parents have. One-night stands are his usual and frequent experience with women, but Crystal gets under his skin and so Mark decides to take a chance on love.

The One for Me
was pretty funny, and I liked that Sydney Landon diffused any drama with a dose of humor. I love a couple that can laugh over difficulties, like Mark and Crystal did. Crystal was a sweetheart and even though I wanted to shake her at times for being such a pushover with her mother and her ex-husband, I still liked her. I seriously would’ve cut that woman (her mother) out of my life if it were me. The obstacles that Mark and Crystal encounter were not because of their feelings, the drama came from their families. As for Mark, I sort of got a 50 Shades/Christian Grey vibe from him without the BDSM, though. Yum! While Always Loving You is still my favorite of the series, The One for Me was a fast and fun installment.

I love Sydney Landon's Danvers series and if you're a fan of lighthearted and steamy romance, it's a series I highly recommend.

I thought Crystal was adorably quirky. Mark was super sexy as well....but there was also something...missing. But I'll get to that in a bit.

The One For Me was a wonderful book, but a clear case of just not for me. There was nothing wrong with it aside from the fact that it had a couple of my personal pet peeves as a reader that proved difficult to move past that bias.

1. Overuse of an endearment.
If I had to read him call her "Angel" one more time... As it was my eye would twitch every single time I read it. Heck, it's used 196 times throughout the book. At one point he calls her Angel and 'baby' in one sentence.

Then again, it's one of those things that can be super sweet, if you can look past it.

2. Mark's...kinks
Now I love me a dominant man with a kinky side but I found none of that with Mark. Personally, he came across as super vanilla and overly sweet at times. Considering what he says is his penchant in the bedroom, I just wasn't buying it. I'd rather it just not be mentioned at all than be written the way it was, but that's just me.

Mark and Crystal's connection was very quick. Probably a little too quick in my eyes. Maybe that's what was the beginning of the end for me? I just couldn't wrap my mind around how a man like Mark would take a random woman that faints in his arms to his home and take care of her for 2 days because eh feels this instant connection and curiosity with her. He knows nothing about her...not even her name. Perhaps I'm just too cynical for something like this? The author did do a great job explaining why, but again, I just wasn't buying it.

The writing as per Sydney's usual style, was fantastic. If you like mostly fluffy steamy reads, this will fit the bill quite nicely. Unfortunately I think that I've just outgrown this sort of romance as a reader so that would explain my disconnect with it. Give it a shot and judge for yourself. It just may work for you.

The One for Me is the 8th and I believe final book in Sydney Landon's Danver's Series. I absolutely LOVE this series!! It is one that I know I will revisit many times in the future. This is the type of series that when I am looking for that easy, feel good and sexy love story, I turn to the Danver's group of friends. Sydney has created such an amazing group of characters that I am sad to see them go. They are all so relatable and you can't help but want to be a part of their group. When this group of girls get together….you know you will have a good time and laugh your butt off.

I do have to be honest and say that this book wasn't my favorite of the series. I still really enjoyed it, but that was basically because I loved Mark. He really made this story for me. I found him just as lovable as the other Heroes in this series. I did on the other hand not like Crystal as much as the other heroines in this series. I found her to be quite naive and pretty much a push over, especially when it came to her ex husband and her mother. I wanted to smack her so many times throughout the book!!! She just made some really bad decisions during the story.

Now with that said I did find the story line fun and entertaining. It kept my attention all the way through. I just wish Crystal would've gained her backbone a little sooner in the story and not made some of the decisions she did along the way. I also wish that we would've seen the others from this series in this book more. I felt that it was missing that key element and I didn't find this book as funny as all the others in the series. I think that is just because the girls didn't get together as much in this book.

As I have said before this is an AMAZING series and I would 100% recommend this book and series to anyone who is looking for a fun, sexy and heartwarming love stories. With entertaining story lines and fun and lovable characters. You truly don't want to miss out on meeting these characters.

This was my first Danvers book and not only was it entertaining but I just adore how the characters were and how they came together.

Mark is not only rich and successful but he is the love em and leave em type of guy until his angel literally falls at his feet after weeks from wanting to find out who exactly she is.

Crystal secretly stalks Mark when she can but when she isn't feeling well leaves early only to throw up, confess her secret fantasies and pass out at the feet of her obsession but it can't get worse.. Can it?!

Holy hell this book had some serious humor and not the chuckle kind. I mean full out omg I would die if that happened to me humor. And when you think the humor will die down? Nope something else pops up. Landon did a great job in keeping me interested and wanting more!

I liked the characters. They were real and while each had there own issues they both knew how family could ruin your good mood.

Crystal was a bit shy and sheltered but I found her endearing. Mark on the other hand was in control, confidant and had a sexy edge in the bedroom. No matter how different these characters were they just worked and clicked.

The only thing I had a issues with was that because this was the only book I read in the series out of 8 books I was a little lost on who was who, who married who and what this company actually did. I'm sure this could be read as a standalone but don't make the same mistake I did. Start from the beginning.

As far as how the romance progressed I was pleased in the end. Sure Mark wanted her but it wasn't because she wasn't his usual. It was simple attraction that brought these two together and the chemistry that made them last.

A must read for 2016! It's cute, fun, and of course the HEA is a plus!

I adore this series.  It's full of charm, humor, love, friendship, loyalty, family and passion.  In The One for Me, we finally get Mark's story.   Mark DeSanto has always been a bit of a mystery with his never attached dominant ways.   Even though he's the king of one night stands he's always been there when he's needed with his friends.  Crystal Webber is Ella's sister.  She's also been a bit repressed with her emotionally abusive mother and lackluster ex-husband.  After seeing Ella have her HEA she new that she wanted more, so she left her husband and filed for a divorce.

Post divorce Crystal now works at Danvers and has a lust crush on Mark Destudo aka Danver's Mr. Big.  It's was a crush from a far, she may have casually stalked Mark but never made a full attempt to start anything with him.  Especially since she thinks Mark is way out of her league.

However, one fateful day Crystal vomits on Mark and he then in turn takes care of her and never really lets her go after that.  At first Mark is determined to take care of Crystal but doesn't know why she's so different than any woman in his life before.  He knows he wants her but doesn't think he can give her what he thinks she needs.  But what's a bit of harmless flittering?

"Oh, for heaven's sake, admit you're mad at me for dissing you on Twitter! I can't take much more of this civilized bullying."

At first these two start with twitter fore play but then things take a turn for the worse, which makes Crystal take matters into her own hands by convincing Mark she only wants a sex only relationship.  Now that he knows what she wants, Mark gives in to Crystal.  But after he dives in, he immediately knows things are different and he doesn't know how to handle it.

" . . . I've never had to deal with feelings such as jealousy.  Apparently, it turns me into a bit of an asshole."

These Danver's alpha men always try to do whats right even though they often make the wrong decision.   What first starts as a sex only relationship turns into so much more for these two.

"I swear.  What is it with you men and this honor-able, do-the-right-thing crap?"

These two would've had a much easier time if they communicated better instead of running and of course if they had better parental units, but these issues did happen causing these two some angst before they gave in to love.

This was charmingly sweet.  I absolutely loved Mark.  One of the things that made Mark so charming was his relationship with his cousin Denny and also his naivety towards relationships.  Some of their angst was unnecessary but part of the journey for these two.  I absolutely adore this series.  Sure there were some better than others but all the characters are fantastic and their banter between each other is what truly makes this series.

Although this is the eighth book in the series it is the first one I have read and although I desperately wanted to know the background details of the other couples in the story, it didn't detract from the main focus in this particular story. Proving each book can be read as a stand-alone, but if you are anything like me you will be adding them all to one click as soon as you've finished this one ;)

Told in third person narrative with alternating focus between Crystal and Marco. Crystal literally falls into the arms of her fantasy man, too bad she's too ill to remember anything about it, lol.

Marco is intrigued by Crystal from first catching sight of her wobbling her way out of the exit of their joint offices. Despite the extremely unusual circumstances surrounding their initial encounter, Marco knows there is something different about Crystal and he is drawn to her in a way he has never experiences before.

Both Marco and Crystal have a lot of emotional insecurities and bagagge inflicted on them due to the toxic nature of their parents in different ways. It is very hard to avoid toxic people when they are your relatives, it's a situation I am all too familiar with unfortunately. Sydney Landon does a brilliant job in portraying the situation in a realistic and relatable manner, showing the deep impact toxicity has in a negative manner on self-confidence. The way in which their respective situations where handled through the narrative added another layer to not only the plot but their relationship.

The One For Me concentrates on the character development and budding relationship between Crystal and Marco, the characters from the other books make and appearance and it honestly made me desperate to read their individual stories. The groundwork has been laid for what I can only assume will be the next book in the series, I am already looking forward to seeing how that relationship will play out and hopefully see more of Crystal and Marco.

I have to mention the amazing use of Mae West quotes and the flittering between Crystal and Marco, I absolutely loved that aspect and being an angel myself - @BookAngel_Emma - I'm stealing the hashtag #Angel ;)

"Angel, I can't be your white night, and baby, you deserve to have one. I'm not capable of giving you what you're looking for."

The One For Me is the eight book in the Danvers series, but can be totally read as a stand-alone. The One For Me was a quick and entertaining read. It is told from dual points of view and follows the story of Mark and Crystal. Mark is rich, handsome and used to getting what he wants. He loves his life and everything just seems to be going his way....Until one day, Crystal drops into his world. His first initial meeting of Crystal is certainly a memorable one, as she falls sick to her feet. But, from the moment he met her, Mark knew that Crystal was different. He tried to stay away. But, the harder he tried, the more impossible that task was....Crystal has never known what its like to be truly loved or to follow her own heart. Fresh from her divorce, all she wants is to experience what life has to offer. And she has her sights set on Mark. She is infatuated with him, but never once acted on how she felt for him....Until that fateful day when she gets sick in his arms. That day put Crystal on Mark's radar. Crystal is now finding herself wanting things she never thought possible, and she wants to experience them all with Mark. Will Mark and Crystal give in to the feelings they have for each other??

Overall, I really enjoyed this book. I will admit that this is my first book in The Danvers series and after finishing this one, I'm looking forward to reading the previous installments. The One For Me was a quick and easy read. It was entertaining and the characters were easy to connect with. I loved the push and pull with Crystal and Mark. The chemistry they shared was intense and undeniable. I loved watching Mark stray from his playboy ways and take a chance on a woman. I loved seeing him make mistakes and try to navigate his way through all of his confusing feelings. I thought that Crystal and Mark were a great match. They both challenged each other and you could tell that the feelings they had for one another were real and genuine. My only complaint and it's a small one; was that there was a lot of references to how wild/kinky Mark was and how Crystal was too innocent for him. I would have liked to have seen the wild side that they were referring to. Yes, Mark was an alpha male and had some controlling moments, but I wanted to see the wild, kinky man everyone was talking about.

Other than that one small issue, I really enjoyed this book. It was a solid four for me. I thought this story-line was fun and had a nice mix of drama, angst, romance and sexy good times.

After a rather improbable beginning, the story flowed into a fun and super sexy romance that I could not put down. Crystal was a bit naïve in life experiences but she knew what she wanted and found that in Mark. I liked that he was not just a strong businessman but also had a sense of humor and his personality so layered that he seemed real. Of course they both make stupid decisions but it all fit with the story and gave their friends and family plenty of page-time, which I liked a lot. I plan to keep my eyes open for the next installment in this fun series.

The One for Me by Sydney Landon is another great story from the land of Danvers. I need to find Danvers and get a job there. Crystal Webber has had it rough from a domineering mother, an unfeeling husband now ex and a crush on Mark DeStudo. What is a women do to? Ask her friends for advise, of course. Loved this book and how we always get a glimpse of what is going on with everyone at Danvers International. What a way to meet and then to say things you don't remember. It's all for the good. I know some of us wish we literally fell into the arms of a sexy man. I hope the series will continue. I'm sure there are few stranglers needing love - Lydia. Just saying and Mark's brother. Thanks for all the wonderful stories.

Okay, I usually like Sydney Landon's books, but this one started with me rolling my eyes too many times and I hadn't even pass chapter 5 yet.
The heroine (Crystal/Angel) got sick and then complained to the hero (Mark) that she doesn't like to go to doctors or hospital because of being left alone in a hospital by herself when she was kid when she had her tonsils removed. Basically her mother left the child at the hospital for a short time to probably attend to her other child. But seriously, Crystal has hospital issues for something that happened over twenty years ago? Insert, eye rolling moment.
So basically, the author is saying that Crystal had never had a reason to see a doctor for examination or gone to the hospital in her entire adult life? Insert another eye rolling moment.
Then at some point during those really early chapter, Crystal seems to have turn back the clock to become some nauseating child. I really don't know if I will finish this book. Because I am already annoyed and I haven't even pass the half way point yet.
so now I am at almost at the mid-point in the book, but I think I have done permanent damage to my eyes because I rolled it so many times. This "insta-whatever" that Sydney Landon created is beyond ridiculous.
I really want to bail on this book, but if I do, then I am going to give it a bad review. So I am going to try to give the author some latitude and try to finish. This book reminds of the movie "she-devil" with Meryl Streep in which she plays an author has written good books, but then she met a man and life turns topsy-turvy and she wrote crappy book. This book sort of feel exactly like that movie.
I am going to give a few more chapters, then I will definitely have to bail, because thus far its not good.
Okay, I really gave this book my all.....but it will have to be become a DNF. The book was NOT GOOD.

So I have only read the first book of this series and I thought it was pretty good but this one just didn't do it for me. First of all, I was super annoyed at Crystal for being such a pushover with her mom, when she could definitely pull off the guts to seduce Mark.

The main thing that really bothered me was the conversation of all the women, literally all their conversation were about their AWESOME sex life with their husbands and lusting after each other's husbands and possibly, other available guys at Danvers. A little bit is fine, but that's all they seemed to talk about, specially with Mia saying she would love to have another man's baby while she is dating another guy. Now, don't get me wrong, I am not one of those people who thinks you can't lust after anyone but your SO, but it gets kind of old when that's all you talk about with your friends while also mentioning how your SO is whipped and doesn't look at anyone else's ass.

Honestly, I wish some of this talk would have been toned down because Mark and Crystal were potentially a cute couple but UGH I can't read on.

So yeah, I got tired of that pretty quick and DNF'ed at 60%

DNF: Crystal has been ‘lusting’ over Mark for ages; secretly ‘checking him out’ and ‘stalking’ him. Then she gets sick, pukes on his shoes so he takes her to his home to nurse her while she deliriously tells him she wants to sleep with him time after time. After that he buys her a $ 1500 dress and $ 1000 shoes.
YEAH RIIIIIGHT. Sooo unrealistic!

Sydney Landon is back with her latest Danvers novel and yet again I’ve been reminded why this is a favourite series of mine. Reading these books is like going back to old friends and The One for Me is no different.

I was hooked from the opening page and both did and didn’t want the story to end because I was loving it so much. One of the things I love most about the Danvers series is that they immediately fall into the comfort reads category. I know when I pick one up I’m in for a fantastic read, characters that I will adore, laughs, tears and more swoonage than is safe.

Mark and Crystal are two characters that will stay with me long after I finish the last page. How could I forget such a monumentally awkward meeting and what transpires after? It was so much fun to see the playboy fall and fall hard for the really not so shy angel. They were a treat to read.

Who would have thought that the uber sexy Mark DeSanto would find himself in the position of wanting more than a night with a woman? Especially one who intrigues him as much as his “Angel” does. But when an act of chivalry leads to him suddenly wondering if he wants more and that maybe he’s found his more.

For divorcee Crystal Webber, life after divorce is fine if she doesn’t include her mother pushing her to get back together with her ex-husband and the insults that come with being a disappointment to her. She is happy doing her job and quietly lusting after Mark at the office. But when she gets sick at the office, then wakes to find herself in his bed she thinks she dreaming till reality crashes back in.

This event throws them together and brings out an unexpected side to both of them. A softer, take it slow side to Mark that no one has ever seen and a naughtier, more confident side to Crystal that Mark has a hard time denying. These two have of the charts chemistry and it shows when they can’t keep their hands off each other.

“I think you’re the sexiest man I’ve ever seen. I’ve never lusted after anyone before, but I can’t stop thinking about trying out all of my secret fantasies with you.” "Ah hell,” he groaned as he stopped just inches away from her. He raised a hand, stroking a finger down her soft cheek before cupping her face. “I’ll tell you again, baby, that you had your chance to let me run the other way. But since you didn’t, you’re mine.”

As they grow closer and continue to stun their friends with this new relationship, things seem rosy. But the path to true love is littered with problems. In this case it’s their families and the heartache they cause. But can they find a way to keep their new found happiness and fight for what they have or will it prove too much of an obstacle and keep them apart forever?

Fans of the series will be happy that most of the previous characters return for cameos and that there is a major announcement that had this reader tearing up and jumping for joy over fictional characters.

Like I said I love this series and hope it never ends. There’s a few characters who need a book, I’m looking at you Denny! And I can’t wait for them to be written. I have been a huge fan of this author since the beginning and I honestly can’t see that changing. Not when this series is so damn good.

The One for Me by Sydney Landon
Mark & Crystal
MAKE THE LEAP FROM HONDA TO LAMBORGHINI
5 Stars

So this installment into the Danver's menagerie is a little different than the rest. Wanna know why? It's hotter, it's sexier, and holy freaking hell is it ever dirty! I have loved this series from the get-go. Sydney's books are always so well rounded... Sexy alpha, head-strong female, a dilemma, a solution, and a kickass climax. I'm not gonna sit here and blow smoke up your ass, if you're checking this book out it's because you already love Sydney like I do. What I will do is tell you right from the start you'll be captivated with Mark DeSanto and his jet black hair and Crystal Webber and her quirky banter! Good luck not laughing out loud or wiping tears away!

Crystal comes from a bizarre home. We met her mother back in another book, the title escapes me at the moment, but that woman was a total jerkface back then and believe me you she doesn't get any better in this one. Crystal struggles to please her Mother, but can never quite get there. She makes some dreadful decision based on shit other people want and finds herself in some pretty sticky situations. When an illness lands her in Mark DeSanto's life, you can bet your ass that things are going to change.

Mark's life has been anything but simple and he likes it that way. He lives life on the edge. Different women grace his arm and bed regularly. His business comes first and he's a very hands on kind of guy. His childhood wasn't much better than Crystals. His parents pretty much ignored him. Drinking and partying their life away on his dime. When he meets Crystal, well, he can't quite figure out why he's so compelled to take care of her or why he can't stop thinking about her or why the thought of her without him doesn't seem to be an option. Just talking about this is putting the goofiest damn smile on my face.

The supporting character cast is enormous as usual. All the chickies, all the Danver's men, and those miserable parents on both sides. I really wanted to beat the crap outta of those parents. I mean who really treats their kids or family that way? Why would Mark or Crystal put up with it for so long? Damn Sydney, you're killing me. One character that stands out to me is Denny, Mark's cousin and driver. This guy will have you rolling on the floor, laughing your ass off. Very cool dude!

I really enjoyed this one. I even think this may be my favorite Danvers novel. The pacing kept me enthralled and never left me wanting to skip around. The dialogue flowed with efficiency and so much stinking humor I must have highlighted like an insane amount of the banter! Those "tweets" back and fourth were superb! The tension was a great build and that climax, Wowza! I loved it immensely.

Stalking the hot-as-sin, panty dropping Mark DeSanto for months and what is the first thing Crystal Webber decides to do when the opportunity to finally talk to him is...yep, you guessed it. Puke on his shoes and pass out on him. Way to go Webber! After an unflattering (well most of it to Crystal anyway) weekend with the elusive DeSanto, Crystal can't seem to figure out what the man wants. He's throwing hints at her on Twitter, but he's also playing games that may do nothing but push Crystal away. Why not have a little fun of her own. After her divorce, she deserves it, Right?

What is it with women and my shoees. Most of the time I have women wanting to lick them and other things, but not this beautiful, spitfire. Nope, she decides to throw up on them and then pass out. What's a man to do? Take her to my home and help her as I never have with another woman. Now why is that? She intrigues me, with her snarky remarks and her cute quotes. Well maybe just a taste.

What these two find is unexpected and quick but while they maybe trying to fool everyone, their parents are not fooled and if anyone can tear these two apart, it's them. Will they be able to overcome the blocks in their path or will mommy and daddy's win in the end?

Ummmm...
I might just have fallen in love with a new man. Gray and Declan will always have my heart, but Mark maybe added to that duo. I love how he's trying to take it slow with the one person who has taken it slow her whole life. He tries to play the flirting game, but it seems to much for him. Or should I say that Crystal is to much for him. I love that their both sassy and willing to give and take (well more Crystal than Mark, because well he is an alpha) with each other. Mark makes us all believe in the fairytale man just a little more and what woman have come to make up in their heads as something that we should strive for in life and how we should be treated (well mostly) and Sydney does that for us.

Sydney does it once again. She has taken two people who would be unlikely to have noticed one another and thrown them together. The writing was spot-on, and the story flowed very well. She gave it the drama aspect that I have come to love in her books. Let me just say I wanted to rip off her mother's arms and beat her with them. What a b*tch. As with all the Danvers books, Sydney has delivered a story full of determination, spunk, and love wrapped up in a gorgeous couple. Enjoy!

I absolutely love the Danvers Series by Sydney Landon. I am giddy every time a new books appears in the series and devour them as soon as I can get my hands on them! Not only do you get sassy fun (especially from the cast of characters from books before) but you get just the right amount of angst, sexy steam and a whole lot of romance! Quick fun reads that will leave a smile on your face.

Mark DeSanto is the Danvers International "Man-Candy" - He is pure sexiness, that every woman who see him finds a little lust in her heart for. Especially Crystal Webber. After divorcing her, hand-picked by the parents, husband and taking a job at Danvers International - She been kinda stalking the handsome executive by checking out his FB and Twitter feeds and walking by the guy whenever she gets a chance. She just never thought that the chance she has been dreaming of would come about from her getting sick all over the sinfully sexy man.

Mark doesn't know what it is about this "Angel" who seems to have dropped at his feet - literally. But something pulls him towards Crystal taking him completely out of his comfort zone and into a new zone called dating. He's never been the jealous type or one to pine over a girl. He's the f*ck em and see ya later kinda guy. Crystal is innocent and beautiful and trusting of him, throwing him for a loop.

But when both families get involved - all he can think of is protecting Crystal, no matter the cost.

Mark and Crystal were perfect together. The hot, former man-whore learning to have a relationship with a woman whom it seems no one in her past fully appreciated. They were the perfect mix of flirty fun, sexy hot and a mix of broken to make the angst level there but not over the top.

Each book in the series can be read as a stand alone so there is no worries in whether you can follow a long jumping into a series this late in the game. I can guarantee though after taking a look at the characters, so full of fun, you'll want to go back and read all the rest of the books in the series!

The One for Me is the eighth book in Sydney Landon’s Danvers series. I haven’t read any of the previous books, and I found it quite easy to jump right in and enjoy the story of Mark DeSanto and Crystal Webber.

Mark and Crystal could not be more different! Crystal Webber is quiet and perhaps a bit shy. She is incredibly loyal and caring as well. Between her caring nature and limited experience, she easily turns into a doormat when her insipid ex-husband or domineering mother confront her. On the other hand, Mark is a self-assured, wealthy and successful business owner. He’s a commitment-phobe who sticks with the “love ‘em and leave ‘em” game plan. The one big thing Mark and Crystal have in common is that their parents are meddling and crazy difficult (in their unique ways). I really liked both these characters. Their chemistry, banter and Twitter flirting is fun. The #MaeWest quote throw down was hilarious.

Crystal’s and Mark’s first encounter hooked me. Imagine the guy you’re secretly crushing on actually approaching you only to toss your cookies all over his wildly expensive suit and shoes! With that auspicious beginning, the relationship is doomed right? You’ll never know unless you read the book, and I would recommend you do. The plot is well paced and there isn’t an unrealistic insta-love (how could there be with a stomach bug). The big conflict involves Mark’s and Crystal’s feelings about their dysfunctional families and Mark’s fear of relationships. I did feel that the conflicts were too easily resolved. The weak became strong, the bullies became nice, and the fearful became brave with a couple short conversations.

Overall, The One for Me was a good, enjoyable, 3.5-4 star read that made me a Sydney Landon fan. I’ll be checking out the other books in her Danvers series!

This is a contemporary romance that starts off awkward, funny, sexy (lots of erotic scenes), and delves in a bit deeper as Mark and Crystal must face their personal issues in order to move on from the past. Crystal, Ella's sister, had been bullied by her mother for years, now for having divorced her husband. Mark has issues with his parents as well. That changed a lot for me. In dealing with their parents, they both bond and develop beyond a sexy, romantic couple to what it really means to have each other's back and be in a relationship.

This has one of the most embarrassing beginning scenes with Crystal getting sick all over Mark's shoes. Mark is the playboy who never goes beyond a one-nighter. But he plays nurse to Crystal during the weekend. It awakens a hunger for something more inside of him. She is ready to discover her sexy side. She keeps saying naughty things aloud! And Mark can't seem to let her go.

"Flittering" and DeStudo are some of the fun terms I learned in this new addition to the sexy, touching Danvers series. Flittering, flirting on Twitter using #Angel, was a fun, creative way for them to flirt. I loved the quotes! DeStudo is the name the ladies at Danvers International call Mark DeSanto behind his back. Those were some silly, fun touches that keep this book fresh and hip.

I also enjoyed the secondary characters. Denny, Mark's cousin, is wonderful. He kept Mark on his toes and had me laughing a few times. Then there are the Danvers series women, who are supportive of each other and hilarious whenever they get together.

I liked Mark; he is given the nickname Mr. Big from the Sex and the City show. Unfortunately, I am Team Aidan, and thought Mr. Big was a jerk. So, that was a bit of a turn-off for me. However, that might be a plus for someone else.

Note: I received an advance copy in exchange for an honest review. This is my honest opinion of this book. I have read all of the other books in the Danvers series and had 1-clicked most of them.

NO SPOILERS

This is my first try of Sydney Landon and honestly, it was just lackluster.

The storyline is what it promises-a feel good, pass-the-time, cliche type (but not cliche) romance and this is not a genre I have a problem with. I embrace the genre and I think that Syndey's work tries to replicate this but while the storyline is fairly interesting the writing is just not up to scratch.

The basic English and grammar is not the issue here but rather the character dialogue. It's just...cringe-worthy. I was wincing the whole time I read some of the dialogue. It's immature and not at all realistic to how real-life interactions would be like. For example:

“Two days?” she gasped out. “I’ve been here that long?”

“It was pretty late by the time we got here on Friday, so not quite two days. You were staggering, so I asked you if you were feeling okay. You said you were fine, but then you promptly puked on me before passing out. My driver and I managed to get you into my car with the intention of taking you to a hospital. In the end, my house was closer, and I decided to bring you here first. You seemed a bit better when we arrived, and I hated to move you again. Therefore, I paid an absurd amount of money for my personal physician to make a house call. He did some blood work and—”

“WHAT?” Crystal gasped. “You took my blood while I was out of it?”

He gave her a puzzled look before shaking his head in amusement. “Angel, I’m not a vampire, so I didn’t personally take your blood. Dr. Francis handled that. I can assure you that he followed the same protocol here that he would have in the hospital. You’ll be glad to know that you’re not pregnant.” Wiggling a brow, he added, “Good news for both of us, right?”

And this is one of the first few dialogues these 2 characters have with each other. To me the speech between the characters don't flow as well as it could and rather each character ALWAYS seem to say EXACTLY what they're thinking. This dehumanises the characters for me and ruins the whole story.

A-Mazing..... That's it, that's all I've got.

I'm sad that this is the last of the Danvers series untill November and its pretty safe to say I'll be marking that release date in my diary. Not one of this series has the same storyline and therefore has kept me riveted. Sydney clearly has a huge talent for romance with plenty of heat and drama for all of her characters. No different in The One For Me.

Since her divorce, Crystal Webber has been under the pump from her overbearing pain in the ass mother and husband to rekindle their love, gor Crystal that will never happen, she has moved on, she works at Danvers now and has her sights on Mark DeSanto owner of DeSanto Inc. With sneaky looks and hilarious photos, it takes one embarrassing moment to change everything. Crystal would give anything to spend a weekend in Mark's bed, but passed out and vomiting all over him was not how ahe invisigned it.

Mark DeSanto is full alpha male, he likes control everywhere - work, boardroom, his bedroom. He never expected a woman who threw up all over him then spent the weekend with him would turn his world upside down. Mark has seen Crystal around Danvers where his company has its office but never really took a great deal of notice until that fateful afternoon.

With a weekend spent pretty much babysitting her back to health the realisation is there that he wants something with Crystal. So starting out slowly, they move into a comfortable relationship. Down on herself Crystal cannot see herself as anything but a sex partner, someone like Mark doesn't go for girls like her. But for Mark that couldn't be further from the truth.

But with both Crystal and Mark having awful families, it is this that breaks them apart, byt with a sister like Ella and a cousin like Denny Mark and Crystal have their own armour. But will it be enough for them to have a happy ever after?

When it comes to the Danvers series, I am usually all over. I love this series! Really, everyone should be reading this series. The characters are easily lovable and the stories are fun and sweet. So it breaks my heart to say this, The One for Me was less that what I am used to with this series.

I don't mind when the characters fall in love the instant they meet. As long as they give time to know each other and just make the pacing good. With The One for Me, the story felt forced. The characters were all wrong, for each other... Okay, maybe not for each other, but the way they were introduced to each other was so... fake. However, what bother me the most was the fact that Mark kept calling Crystal "Angel". Like honey, we get it, she is your angel. Stop calling her angel in every sentences. "I love you, Angel", "I think I need you, Angel"... Seriously, is it necessary to call a person you just met angel in every sentences? I think not.

Mark is supposed to be this successful and sexy man, but this "angel" phrased killed his image for me. To top it off, he's supposed to be into kinky things but he was way too sweet... Sometimes this is good but with this story, it didn't work. At one point of the story, you want a strong-tough man. I'm sorry but I couldn't see him as this image he is supposed to be.

I'm usually a fan of Sydney's work, but this story didn't do it for me. It got to a point that I started to skim through her story. I will read her next story, but honestly, I hope it's nothing like this one.
