A splendid overview of the art of complex Japanese braiding, and clear introduction to beginning braids and the equipment, by an English woman who studied in Japan. Written in a warm, conversational style, Catherine Martin shows a strong understanding of the art, and knew she was writing to an interested-ignorant audience of fiber artists who might need to make their own equipment to work on. That part's easier now; the work remains accessible and useful to new braiders today.
