This is a quick read, but certainly worth it simply for the few good illustrations. The subject is so simple it might be taken for granted, however, we always need a reminder of the simplicity of grace and its power to save us and change us.

Easy read as are the majority of his books. But a great reminder of the Grace of God we are given daily and how even though it is undeserved, He still loves us and willingly gives to us that Grace and mercy. A reminder to be grateful.

Shaped by Grace

This small novella is an examination of grace. This amazing gift from God does not get the credit it deserves.

Max does an amazing job with explaining what grace is. He also gives some examples that I never thought of. I’d highly recommend this novella!

Shaped by Grace is a slender, fast read that's perfect for a quick reset when life gets too crazy. Author Max Lucado reminds us what grace is and why it's important for us to understand it.

Overall, this was a nice booklet of introduction to God’s grace. Would’ve demoted this to two stars if it wasn’t for how it coheres to my spiritual life right now.

Profound.

What an inspiring short book but right to the point of what it means to have and feel grace.
I highly recommend it.

The fruit of grace: saved by God, raised by God, seated with God. Gifted, equipped, and commissioned. Farewell, earthly condemnations: Stupid. Unproductive. Slow learner. Fast talker. Quitter. Cheapskate. No longer. You are
who he says you are: Spiritually alive. Heavenly positioned. Connected to God. A billboard of mercy. An honored child. This is the “aggressive forgiveness we call grace” (Rom. 5:20).

I am sure this books speaks to someone. And probably those people find it encouraging. For me, there are so many boring, overused phrases/cliches , it's difficult to get anything meaningful out of it. It's like, some top chef took a perfectly seared fresh-caught ahi steak and put it in a mixing bowl filled with A-1 steak sauce. That how many useless cliches are being used to describe the barbarically merciful concept of Grace. Specifically the grace of a great and terrible God that almost savagely pursues the people that he loves. But, anybody can complain, it takes effort to also offer a solution. Guess I better start writing for Christian bookstores.

This is the first Max Lucado book I've read, I'll try a few others, maybe I'll find a good one.

This is a great book on grace and what it means for us. Lucado asks the question, "Do you really understand grace?" and then illustrates for us what grace is. Just as God extended grace to the woman caught in adultery so he extends grace to each of us. The last part of the book is a call to accept that grace of God through his son Jesus Christ. I'm sure Lucado's full book on grace is even better as this read was short and great.

Lucado, author of many great things, has written this small, seemingly innocent book about Grace. Do not be fooled by its size. This book, in the brief time it took me to read it, had a profound impact on my view of my Redeemer. Such a beautiful joy and peace that is found in Gods Grace. Sinner or saved, take the time to read it, you won't be sorry.

In under 100 pages, Max Lucado is able to present the core of a teaching in a gripping way. He uses many illustrations and phrases which nail his lessons. A good read on how to set yourself free from worry about your place in life.

I thought that this book is just enough to get someone's attention, give the definition and examples of grace (both here and now and biblically). This would be a great book to give a non Christian as a witnessing tool.

I couldn't put this book down.

I purchased this book about a month ago. And I'm now realizing, I waited too long to read it. It's filled with so much information. This quick read packs a punch.

Everything is backed by scripture, which is important in understanding grace. It was a quick and simple read and always excited to read. I rated 2 stars, because I no longer follow the faith and it just lack meaning for me.
