Exhibition consists of 250 photographs "taken since 1986, [that] focus on manual laborers working on farms, in mines, shipbuilding plants, and factories, and at other sites throughout the world. They show the manual labor of today as it has existed from the Iron Age through the Industrial Revolution, until the present, creating through the medium of photography an 'archaeological' record of the vanishing working class in its most archetypal form. The photographs, taken on location in 42 places in more than 20 countries, came together as 'Workers" in 1992."--Foreword. 165 p. : chiefly ill ; 30 cm. Text in Japanese and English.
