Apulia

Rate this book
John Bradford's discovery - from wartime air photographs - of large numbers of archaeological sites in the Apulia region of south-east Italy led to a programme of exploration and trial excavation. This volume provides a comprehensive catalogue of the 250 or so Neolithic sites discovered, with detailed discussion of the environmental background and the economic possibilities of the region. The excavation evidence, notably the Neolithic pottery, is also treated in detail. Further volumes will report on Roman and Medieval sites.
