Lettice is a little rabbit with big dreams! As she hops around on the hill with her family she sees a bird flying overhead, swooping and looping and then soaring away. 'How wonderful it must be to fly', Lettice thinks, and from that moment she makes up her mind that somehow or other she will.
I enjoyed rereading this book because I haven't read it in very long. Lettice the Flying Rabbit is about a young rabbit who always wanted to fly. One day she sees a plane(drone) and jumps in it. The plane takes her far away from her home, but she eventually gets back home. I think that the theme of this book is that you should never give up on your dreams because the bunny kept wanting to to fly and eventually she able to.
* I enjoyed this story of Lettice more than the ballerina book as Lettice, who is portrayed as very girly with lots of pink, goes on an adventure which is full of fun and risk! I think this is something that is missing in many story books "for girls". * It was a favourite of mine as a child and I still remember how excited, and a little nervous, I was when Lettice hopped into the plane and it started flying!
This little bunny in a remote control place is adorable. Kids loved the story and started imagining which animals might like to zoom off in their toys.
Lettice the Flying Rabbit is an enchanting story about a rabbit, who eventually is able to realise her dream of wanting to fly. Stanley does an excellent job in being able to take the reader on a journey of changing emotions that at first begins with an aspiration, then an attempt to try and meet that aspiration (which at first fails) and eventually is fulfilled.
It is a story that would appeal to young children, particularly girls up to the age of six or seven.
Very cute little story. G loved it. Lettice is a little rabbit who wishes she could fly. She happens upon a remote-controlled airplane toy and enjoys a ride.
