TODD BRUCE is a fly fisherman, backpacker, and true outdoorsman from Santa Cruz, California. Spurred by a passion of the outdoors, Bruce studied forestry at Humboldt State University. He began his career as a firefighter with the United State Forest Service, sparking a thirty-two-year career in the fire service before retiring at the rank of captain in 2011. In the summer of 2012, Bruce embarked on a trek of more than 300 miles through the Sierra Nevada high country. Nine Passes is the result of this journey.
