The book "BMX Bully" by Jake Maddox is a book that shows how cheating will never let you win. The book focuses of two make riders, Matt Daniels, and Tyler Mason. Matt’s dad used to be the owner the track that they are racing on but he goes overseas and Tyler’s dad now owns the track. Matt has been used to riding with the rules that his dad and many other tracks had, no cheating. Soon, Matt discovers that Tyler and his dad like racing dirty, and they don’t follow by the racing rules. This brings an advantage to Tyler, yet Matt insists on riding by the rules. In the end, cheating doesn’t come in Tyler’s, or his dad’s favor.

This book is filled with excitement, and curiosity, and that is why I have rated it 5 stars. While this is true in the book, it also has times that add suspense, making the reader wonder what might happen. For example, there are many different times throughout the book where Tyler races dirty, making the chances of Matt making the team very slim and throughout the different races, Tyler does anything to beat Matt, including pushing, and hitting matts bike, causing him to fall. Considering how bad Matt is doing in several races due to Tyler cheating, this adds suspense, making the reader wonder if Matt really will Beat Tyler. While Tyler and Matt have many races together, Matt doesn’t do so well because of the fact that Tyler cheats by pushing over Matts’ bike on several different occasions. Not only does Tyler cheat, but he says anything he can to get into Matts’ head and this also adds suspense, making the reader to wonder once again, “can Matt pull this off and beat Tyler?” Another reason I enjoyed reading this books was because it shows how even if you are getting beat, in the end there is always a chance at you coming back and winning. This is a main theme showed in the book and it can give the reader hope that no matter what happens, you will always have a chance at doing something you try your hardest on.

The book "BMX Bully" by Jake Maddox is very avid. The book contains themes like “cheaters never win” and “no matter how bad you’re losing, if you try hard enough, you can win”. The book also contains things that happen in our everyday world, like pushing, hitting, cheating, etc. I would recommend this book to people who may experience things like this because it shows how if you cheat, in the end you won’t be the winner. It also shows how no matter how bad someone tries to mess with you or distract you, you can still win. This gives many people hope and it also gives me hope when I’m stuck in tricky situations. I really enjoyed reading this book.

Warning Spoilers

BMX Bully is a realistic fiction written by Jake Maddox. This book is about cheating never lets you win. Tyler raced and won but he knocked everyone else over, which is cheating. So, he didn’t make the team. This is prime example of cheating never lets you win.

BMX racing season was finally in. Matt Daniels looked at the racing sheets and he saw a new name “Tyler Mason”. Then he noticed a note tacked on the board. It read, “Only the top rider in each age group will be on the Evergreen Racing Team.” He rode his bike over to the starting line. After the 12 year olds started. The official raised the gate. Matt rode up to the gate. A boy with dark hair rode up to the gate next to Matt. Matt thought, “He must be Tyler, that new kid.” Tyler said, “My father owns this track now. He spent a lot of money cleaning up your father’s mess.” Matt said, “He what?!” “Bang”, the gate dropped. As they were racing Tyler hit Matt’s bike and his bike wobbled. Matt fell on the ground. Tyler did this every race. Matt told the official but he did nothing. They both tried out for another team. This was for the state championship. At the semifinals Matt was racing Tyler. Tyler cheated and knocked Matt over. Yet again Matt told the official. This time the official eliminated Tyler even though he won. So Matt won. He was able to join the team. “Finally Tyler got what he deserved,” thought Matt.

My least favorite parts of this book were where Tyler cheated and won. I also didn’t like when Matt got hurt because of Tyler. On the other hand, my most favorite part was where Tyler was disqualified and Matt won.

I really enjoyed this book but it could be better so I give this book a 4 out of 5 stars.

Alec finished reading this book to me a couple of nights ago and the story line is quite good. It is about a boy, Matt (around 12 I think) who is a BMX racer (amateur). His father used to own the track where he races but the father is now oversees (military?) and the track has been purchased by another man whose son, Tyler is bully on the track and cheats to win races.

Matt does not allow himself to loose control and maintains a positive attitude throughout as he remembers lessons his father has taught him. I would recommend for reading to small children or to have 2nd-4th graders read aloud.

My son, Alec is currently reading this book aloud to me. We are about half way through and out is getting quite interesting. I an excited to hear how it ends.

BMX Bully by Jake Maddox is a great book to read for people that like racing with bikes or like action suff. This book is about a kid named Matt that likes bike racing. When he found out his dad sold the biking course, there was a kid who owned named Taylor. Taylor was a really mean kid, including his dad. Taylor distracted Matt by telling him some very rude stuff. One day it was the final race v.s Matt Taylor was trying to distract Matt by crashing his back of the wheel. Matt won the race after all the stuff that Taylor did to him.

I thought it was a very good book. It had a mean kid in it and he bullied the main character. At the end the main guy ended up winning after all he went through. Then he became part of a new BMX team.

Deja-This book is about a boy who is getting bullied by an older boy who is pranking people on the track. His dad is the coach of the team and he doesn't say anything about it.
Yes, I would recommend this book because it tells you about how a boy deals with the bully.

It's good for reluctant readers. I read it with a sixth grader that enjoyed it. It's a good book for boys who like this kind of sport and don't care much for reading.

BMX Bully

The title of the book is BMX Bully and the genre is realistic fiction. The book is written by Jake Maddox and I do say he done a very well job of writing it.the theme of this book is playing by the rules and as long as you can see yourself winning you can do it.
At the beginning of the the story matt starts off at the bmx track where he is soon introduced to it’s newest and most rude player, tyler. Near the middle part of the book matt and tyler go through a series of races and everytime matt would get ahead of him or it would seem like he was about to win the race tyler would come behind him and ram his bike which is cheating, but he can’t do anything about it because his dad now owns the bmx track. At the end of the book though at their last and final race matt was in the lead and would have been first, but as you guessed tyler rammed him. But unlike last time he was not at his dad’s track so was disqualified and matt took first place.
My favorite part of this book was when tyler was caught and disqualified and left the track very angrily. I like this book because it shows hard work and dealing with other peers that you don’t get along with so well. You can relate this book to standing up to bullies even though this took place in a bmx track this can happen anywhere.
Overall I give this book a 5 star rating. I love the way the book ended because it had a classical ending where the bad lost and the good won. I recommend this book to anyone who has a interest in bmx bikes and a great back in a book.
