Mary has made herself all to all, and opens her merciful heart to all, that all may receive of her fullness; the sick, health; those in affliction, comfort; the sinner, pardon; and God, glory. St. Bernard (1090 1153)
See How She Loves 50 Approved Apparitions of Our Lady is an amazing collection of apparitions of the Blessed Virgin Mary from best-selling TAN author Joan Carroll Cruz. Ranging across twenty-three countries and two millennia the visions chronicled here show Mary s deep love for mankind, her Son, and the Church.
Joan Carroll Cruz has meticulously researched fifty apparitions of Our Lady. Discover lesser known apparitions like Our Lady of La Vang in Vietnam and Our Lady of Las Lajas in Columbia, and learn more about the visions of Mary at Fatima, Lourdes, and Guadalupe.
Approved by the local bishops or the Vatican, these miracles show Mary s great love for man, her constant intercession on our behalf, and her role as protector of the Church.
Perfect for Catholics and non-Catholics alike, See How She Loves Us sheds light on the many mysteries of the Catholic Church and Catholics love for the Blessed Mother.
Mrs. Cruz is a native of New Orleans, LA, and was educated by the School Sisters of Notre Dame. She was a member of the Discalced Carmelite Secular Order for 50 years and received the Mother Teresa Award in 2005.
Mrs. Cruz was the author of 15 Catholic books, all of which received the imprimatur. She was perhaps best known for her writings on miraculous occurrences of faith which she compiled through meticulous research of foreign shrines, churches, convents and monasteries.
Not a bad book, for those who are interested in apparitions. It's not really a very deep consideration of them, or an exploration of the phenomenon. It is basically a brief description of each of fifty Church-approved apparitions. It would be a good book for Catholic devotional reading. For someone more interested in what goes on with apparitions, I'd recommend The Miracle Detective, by Randall Sullivan.
I've been reading about one Marian apparition per week from this book. I wish there were photos of the apparition sites / statues / icons / paintings discussed. I have searched for images and found many of them on a site: divinemysteries.info that has *very* similar information to that in this book. Joan provides an extensive bibliography in this 2012 book; the author of the site, begun in 2016, does not.
I thought it was interesting that the most recent apparitions have been in Egypt - all very similar visions seen by many on church rooftops but without a message of prayer and penance that most of the other apparitions had.
An excellent option to acquaint the many Apparitions of Our Lady over the years. Although it does not delve into the history of each Apparition, it presents the most relevant aspects of each one.
Book 14 of 2023 — See How She Loves Us by Joan Carroll
We chose this book for our church ladies’ book club these past few weeks! I didn’t make it to any of the discussions, but I so enjoyed learning about these fifty apparitions of Our Lady!
I learned so very much about many of the traditions surrounding Mary. Medals, devotions, and more! It is a wonderful book. The information is in bite-sized chapters, rarely more than a few pages. They do not build on each other, so it can also be a reference if you need some info on a specific one!
Highly, highly recommend for Catholics and anyone looking to learn more about Our Blessed Mother, the devotions surrounding her, and the history of her people!
This book is a good overview of some of the major sightings of Our Lady. It gets into detail about the sightings themselves but there is very little analysis; in some ways, I think it’s better as a coffee table book than a devotional. That being said, I’ve gotten into the habit of reading this in the mornings as part of my routine.
Either way, I learned a lot and it was a good introduction to a topic that I plan to read more about. If anyone reading this review has recommendations for further reading, please send them my way.
Mrs. Cruz has also included some beautiful images in the middle of the book.
I've been trying to find a compilation of Mama Mary's approved apparitions and there are very few books about it. This is great! I recommend it to all Catholics and to those who want to know more about the messages and the miracles behind the apparitions.
This book is deficient in various Appearances of Our Lady. It will sometimes spend pages discussing a small town's appearance and message. And it mentions almost nothing about Our Lady of Fatima, one of the most important messages for the global scene. The book's dosage is a bit low.
Beautiful book about all the approved visions that Our Blessed Mother has given to us. I would read some of the stories and then look them up on Google to see what religious art I could in regards to which vision. It is beautiful.

This was a great collection of Marian apparitions throughout time and the world. There are some color photos inserted in the middle that were lovely additions. The writing was straightforward and easy to read. Would recommend!
