Très belle chanson de gestes. J'ai aimé le récit de la bataille et la poésie du texte. Le texte est empreint de mysticisme et de religion, montre le côté politique, religieux, chevaleresque de la bataille de Ronceveaux.

This book has an interesting history of how it was written and how it became the epic of France. It was action packed but it was simply long battle scenes and I felt like it was hard to follow. It was interesting to look at the diplomatic and historical context of the time through the lens of the story but it definitely wasn’t my favorite.
