This book is largely anecdotal in its proof that astral projection is a legitimate phenomenon with half of the testimonials seemingly health-related or in conjunction with maladies and dental work. Not that proving was the point of the book, as the author stated a time or two, but rather it is a foray into the experiences of those who claimed to have traveled outside of their bodies.

Since I was reading it for other reasons - it was from the library of an osteopath from Northville, Michigan who I am researching - the book was mostly repetitive and tiresome but if you are looking for proof of experiences it will likely meet your expectations.

As an example of what to expect, here are some of Dr. Paul Lovewell's underlined and notated passages:

- "This also demonstrates to us that living force is independent of matter, and that our individuality is composed of a physical body and an intelligent soul and a vital link - the astral body." (page 38)

- "That is, immortality is a fact which is proved scientifically." (page 38)

- "...[a] curious force issued from the human hands which could pass through certain substances." (page 40)

- "The etheric body dwells in the fluids of the physical body. You understand? It dwells in the water - the fluids of the body partly, and partly it lies outside. That causes - causes - causes that causes the phenomena we hear of as the aura. The etheric body, that which is within the physical partly - it cannot be entirely in, but is a little outside the physical, may reach two or three inches outside - causes this emanation which is perceptible to clairvoyants and is called the aura or the auric emanation. At death we know there is no aura..."
