Worth the Wait . . .
Amelia Parker experienced a bad break-up with her boyfriend of 3 years as he justified cheating on her because she wouldn’t “put out” and chose to retain her virginity! Thoroughly embarrassed, she allows her best friend, Reagan, to talk her into staying for the summer with her and her dad at his beach house in Malibu. While enjoying the private beach, a big wave knocked her down and a second one pulled her under. She thought she was going to drown until an arm wrapped around her waist and pulled her out of the strong current. He laid her on the sand then helped her to sit up and murmured reassuring words as she coughed up water. When she looked up at him, she saw the silver fox was gorgeous. When she said she would never go back in the water, he asked her to let him show her how to deal with the waves and currents. He introduced himself, then led her back into the water to get rid of her fears and teach her safety. He was so easy to talk to and he helped her to face what scared her and learn how to enjoy things. He never judged her and she could open up to him with her most private feelings. So she was able to invite his kiss without the expected embarrassment – until a huge wave they never saw washed them onto the beach as they laughed together.
Things did progress with the two of them until her cell phone up on the beach rang. Reagan had been worried that she hadn’t heard back from her friend and was on her way home in panic. Amelia and Julian had to go their own way for now. He went for a long swim and she went to meet Reagan at the house. Coming downstairs from her shower, Amelia was stunned to finally “meet” her best friend’s father -- Julian! Is their relationship over before it can fully begin? She is devastated! Will she lose the man she has already started to fall in love with?
I adored this story! It was so well-written with loving, compassionate characters. Each of them was seeing a dream come true and then it seemed it was over. Would Reagan get the internship she wanted in Malibu with a prestigious law firm? Would Amelia and Julian find a HEA with Reagan’s full acceptance of their love? Or was the dreaming over?

My Bestie’s Dad is the story of Amelia and Julian. Amelia is best friends with his daughter, Reagan, (as they met in college). Amelia is trying to get over a terrible relationship disaster so Reagan invites her to her dad’s beach house for the summer. Once they get there they decide to sightsee and enjoy Malibu. She then decides to go against her old self and go swimming in the ocean. She’s good until an unexpected wave hits her and knocks her off her feet. She can’t get back up and right before it’s too late she is pulled out. When she comes to she sees a very attractive (and unknown) older man and there is instant chemistry. She decides to continue on her new journey and they have a little bit of fun on the beach. She decides to go back to the house (after several missed calls and texts from Reagan) and he decides to go swimming. When she comes downstairs after her shower she realizes who the man actually is and she is blown away. The story continues to be filled with humor, secrets, passion, concern and uncertainty. This was a very funny and enjoyable read for me. I can’t wait to read more. 😊❤️

Good grief, the story had me on pins & needles the whole time. I LOVED the MMC, Julian. He was sweet, spicy, kind and thoughtful. I loved their serendipitous meeting when neither knew who the other was ❤️. Not gonna lie, there was a WHOOOOOLE lotta angst, it was almost too much, but thank GOD things worked out in the end.
The FMC, Amelia, just had her heart broken by a tool and agreed to join her bestie & her dad, Julian at his summer-beach house in Malibu to get over it and get away from the drama. What followed were many sweet & steamy moments, and again, a crap ton of angst.
I enjoyed the story and adored the ending. There was good character growth, compelling story & romance. All the things you hope for in a good romance 🥰

Amelia has just gone through a bad breakup because her boyfriend was offended she wouldn't sleep with him. Her friend, Reagan, has just the solution: come stay at the beach house in Malibu with her and her dad for the summer. So, Amelia gets to the beach house and she goes for a walk along the private beach. A wave comes and knocks her down, then another wave tries to take her under. She starts to believe that she is going to drown until a strong arm wraps around her and helps her back to shore. Once she is somewhat recovered, she sees that her rescue is a gorgeous older guy with a great body. He introduces himself as Julian and she lets him know her name. Eventually, he goes back out to swim and she goes back to the house. As she is coming down the stairs from a shower, her friend is there and introduces her dad. It's Julian!! Amelia has already felt bonded to him when they were strangers and now she wonders if there could ever be anything between them. Will these two be able to see each other as more than their roles with Reagan - can they be special to each other too?

Reagan loves her friend, and her dad, and wants the best for them, but will she entertain the idea that they might be the best for one another? Because Amelia and Julian meet as strangers and click quickly, long before they realize that they have Reagan in common.
One of the better "friend's dad" stories I've read. Well told storyline, with all the legitimate issues that one might expect. The family and friend relationships are all well done. This was an enjoyable read that pulled you along with sincere feels without hitting anybody over the head and yanking heartstrings. Great pacing and genuine emotions. Hurts happen and resolutions take time. Loved the characters all around, from school to work to family.

A vacation away seemed like just the thing out heroine needed. Turns out that she needed our hero just as much. How is she ever going to admit that to her friend?
This is a contemporary romance with an older/younger theme and a bit of the taboo. The story is well written and easy to read with a simple setting which serves as a nice background. The characters are well done and fit nicely into their roles. I loved the connection they share and how they take care of each other. Along the way we get some nice steam and a fun HEA. Overall, a very entertaining story and I look forward to more from this author.

Amelia is heart broken when she walks in on her boyfriend in a compromising situation. She agrees to stay with her best friend for the summer to get over her heartache. While on the beach a silver fox comes to her rescue when she almost drowns, and a connection is made between them. She is shocked to find out that her handsome silver fox is her best friend's father. Julian was taken with Amelia right from the beginning but learning that she is his daughter's best friend could jeopardize their relationship. Is he and Amelia willing to take the chance for a shot at happiness together.

This book was a companion to Baby with My Ex’s Best Friend. It should be read before the other story as it had more information about the other book's FMC's past.
Like the other story, this was drowned in fluff. There was too much inner dialogue that could have been replaced with more conversations/spicy scenes between the two main characters. It created too many dry spells that made the story flat and boring. However, it was better than its sequel. It had more drama and angst, and it actually had the push/pull the other lacked. It made me wonder, though, why the author didn't do the same for Reagan's story. Oh well. It was an okay read.

I just finished reading this book and I will confess it was so hard to put it down for the night! Thanks to a not so pleasant discovery, best friends go to a beach house for college break. One is going for work, the other just to get away. This mini vacation led to an unexpected but sparks flying attraction and grew from there! There is so much of everything....passion, respect, steam and love. I highly recommend that you read this book to discover the whole recipe for this sweet love story.

What a great story. a story about falling in love with your best friend's father. And that's the story of Julian and Amelia, there's an age gap between them and the chemistry and attraction splashes right from the start. What will happen if your girlfriend finds out, will it affect the friendship between them and the relationship? This is an enjoyable story that won't let you go.

Perfect romance
Such a fabulous read this was a new author for me and I will definitely be reading more from Brooklyn Cox.
The characters had great depth and a great storyline.
Best friends dad romance that had just a bit of drama, lots of love and great friendships.
Would have loved a five year later chapter to see if they got the baby/babies that Any had wanted.

Absolutely loved the story. The love between Amelia and Julian had just the right amount of angst. Until I started to read these types of books I never knew there were “codes” about dating someone’s father, brother etc. That Reagan was so angry about her father seemed very OTT. Well done Brooklyn for all the action in this book!

I loved this age gap romance. It was amazing to see how Amy’s character changed after meeting Julian. The chance meeting led to an interesting relationship. The hurdles they had to overcome in order to not hurt the ones they loved was the thing that kept me turning the pages.
