Crossoku is a collection of 70 Crossoku puzzles by C. L. Smith. Crossoku is a hybrid of Sudoku and Crossword puzzles played on a traditional Sudoku 9x9 type grid. Crossoku puzzles use a variable 9 letter key instead of 9 fixed numbers like Sudoku. The Crossoku 9x9 grid is preset with a placement of letters to begin the puzzle. The challenge of Crossoku is to complete the grid in Sudoku fashion by filling in the missing letters without duplicating letters in any column, row or 3x3 cube. Crossoku's use of letters instead of numbers, enables word clues to be given to aid completing the puzzle. Each Crossoku puzzle comes with its own set of "crossword like" word clues. The clue answers are formed from the 9 letter key and appear somewhere in the grid thus aiding solving the puzzle. At least one letter of each clue answer is given in the preset grid to help locate the placement of the clue answer. Clue sets ranging from 10 to 4 word clues are given to each Crossoku puzzle.
