Active Learning and Engagement Strategies pulls together strategies from the books Instruction for All Students , Meeting the Needs of Diverse Learners , and Why Didn't I Learn This in College? plus a few new ones. The exemplars are from participants int he workshop series based on the above books and from teachers ASK Group Consultants have had the opportunity to observe in action.

The first few pages are devoted to establishing a context for the whys and hows of active learning and engagement. To introduce the over sixty strategies described in the book, there is a quick reference listed by instructional purposes. This quick reference is designed to help you as you design lessons and want to select a strategy to meet your goals. All templates and tools are available from the Just ASK Publications website.

This book is quite helpful for me who is starting a school for K-12 in Japan, after decades of experience in training / coaching adults at work places. In Japan, curriruclum and teaching instructions are made centarally at Ministry of Education of the national government. I’m having hard time finding someone who can help me building curriculum and teaching instructions.
