Book Review: Beautiful Nightmare by Johhna B
I have read some books with crazy female characters, but Raven has put the C Z and Y in crazy! Raven was a cross between a prey mantis and a black widow! Beautiful, deadly, conniving and vicious! When she decided to step out and enjoy the nightlife and find a victim, no one except Valencia was exempt from her wrath! When Raven got the itch to go on the prowl, neither men nor women were safe! Woman were her choice, but when she had to feed that desire anyone would do! Raven was a sadist and the only way she could reach satisfaction was to push her conquest to the brink of death which would push her to an immeasurable high! Raven however, had a soft spot for Valencia, feeling that it was necessary to protect her from any harm that may come her way. Where Raven was heartless and deadly party girl, Valencia was reserved longing for love but not sure that she would ever find it. Valencia began to tire of Raven's reckless, perverted behavior but she did not know how to stop her as they had been a part of each other's life from the time they were children and she always stood back and allowed Raven to do whatever she wanted to do! Valencia sat home every night by herself longing for someone to love her that she could love back. During a business meeting Valencia meets Kidd and handsome, wealthy man who was instantly smitten with her! Valencia tried to deny the mutual attraction but she was both excited and enthralled to venture into something that she has never had before, which was love and a serious relationship with a man! All was well for a while as Raven was nocturnal sleeping all day and enjoying the club life at night, while Valencia worked during the day and spent her evenings at home or with Kidd. This schedule basically kept them out of each other's lives until Raven discovers, Valencia's budding relationship with Kidd and threatens to do physical harm to all of Valencia's new friends and reveal a secret that they both have kept since they were children! Fearing that Raven might do what she's threatening, Valencia ends her relationship with Kidd to both of their heartbreak dismay! Valencia goes back to staying at home being by herself while Raven becomes a ticking time bomb. Eventually, Raven and Kidd find their way back to each other, but not before Ravens actions will bring danger to both of them.
Raven's predatory and perverted actions have now brought danger and physical harm to Valencia, who was the victim of a serious assault by one of Raven's victims'. Valencia now realizes how deadly Raven truly is as she gets targeted and assaulted due to her association and her mistakenly being accused of one of Raven's crimes. By the time Valencia realizes how dangerous and out of control Raven has become, the revelation comes to late as Valencia is once again beaten and tortured for Raven's action only this time the consequences may bring death to her and Kidd! There is a revelation and a twist that will blow everyone right out of the water! There are other interesting characters in the book, like Sena, Valencia's best friend from childhood; Mookie, Kidd's younger brother and Me Jackson Kidd and Mookie's employer! However, my focus was stolen by Raven and Valencia! What is the secret that Raven holds over Valencia? Will Valencia truly be able to have a future with Kidd without Raven interfering? Why is Raven filled with so much rage? How have they been able to hide this secret all these years without anyone finding out?? This was not your typical hood tale. Johnna B brought the heat in this book. I don't want to give away the plot but it was an excellent and unexpected twist that had me not put the book down from the beginning until I finished the read. Looking forward to reading more from this author.

Valencia is a professional woman that has everything she's wants, except love. That's where Kidd comes into place and together, they have issues from their past that will then their future. This book solidifies Johnna B as a crazy, twisted, distorted mind that reminds you of T. Styles. I can't wait to see what she has in store for her readers in the sequel.

You just never know what people are dealing with......
This book was a VERY good read. Valencia went through somethings. Home girl could not catch a break. I wanted happy ever after for her. The ending got me though didn't know how to take it. I was happy and sad. If you haven't read this book I strongly recommend it.

This book took me on a rollercoaster ride from the very beginning. Raven was something else, I tell ya. Beautiful Nightmare gave me heart palpitations; it has just the right amount of craziness in it that keeps you wanting more. I'd recommend this book to anyone looking for a sexy, thrilling read!

Dreams do come true then again maybe not.
This storyline was thoroughly intriguing. Love, murder, calculating, fear, strength, loyalty are all things to laid out in this tale. I laughed and nearly cried but I surely didn't expect that outcome.

When I first saw the cover of the book I was like I don't know....But it has the true meaning of never judge a book by its cover....true page turner....
