You know what... I just finished reading this book and I will say that this book was way better than the authors first book. So i give this book like a 3.8... the reason for my rating is because there were a few places that had the wrong tenses, there was another part where the author confused a characters name with a different character and all of that confused me. There were a few other parts i had to go back and reread because it confused me for a second.

The story overall was pretty interesting. It was a story of a woman (Suga) struggling to raise her six children while trying to survive in her enviornment and be the best mother possible. As you read Suga's story and get to know more about her character you learn she is a very strong minded and independent woman who will do anything for her children to make sure they have what they need.

When she decides to deal with Tim who has been her friend for a long time a lot of things begin to happen for Suga some good things and some not so good things. Suga goes through a lot in this story, a lot of struggles and heartache, people reading this may be able to understand her struggle because she goes through so much in her life.
